M-O-O-N, that spells "unregistered user can only convert video with watermark"
😆
2020 wanted to be a movie, and it picked this one.
This is still one of the scariest most powerful opening sequences ever!!!
Scared the living shit out of me as a kid, cause I didn't know what was happening...until a few minutes later in the film 😓
Tony Westbrook It is so well done. Dark and moving.
Now that I've FINALLY finished the uncut edition of "The Stand", I can watch this I ask, "Why can't movies these days be as close to the book as this?"
I find it hilarious how unimpressive the gate is.
I know a big downfall
I thought in the book something malfunctioned in underground lab .sounds like the gate was cause of everything in this movie .how that possible? Usually the lab would get locked down in event of containment breach. One thing for sure army would over see
Containment out break.theu have branch known as cbdc central biological defence command.
I think the gate is representation off the overall failure that is built into so much in order to save money, and bureaucrats making informed decisions of course, Randal Flagg approves
@tomada36 in the book the virus has already spread unknown to the scientists. The automatic alarm had malfunctioned meaning they had been exposed a lot longer before the manual alarm was raised..... campion was already dead when he ran out of the security booth - he just didn't know it!
But there's two problems with the story.
1. Why didn't the facility have a self-destruct?
2. What determines how long it takes for the virus to take affect? Those inside the facility expired in seconds.
The General said those who put on respirators lasted 7 minutes. Campion and his family being outside only got a small exposure to the virus.
Campion was able to make to Texas in 2 days continuous driving while his wife and infant were in their last stages or already expired. Campion barely said a word at the gas station before he joined them.
Damn,
And every town in the World has a Campion.
The greatest opening scene ever.👍🍻💪🎶😁🎶🎵
RIP Ruby Dee :( You'll still be making your own bread in Heaven.
Back in the '70s, my family and I were on vacation and just tooling around in our rental car, taking in the sights, out in the canyonlands in Utah, within probably 15 miles of the Golden Spike monument. My dad happened to follow an OD 2-1/2 ton truck as it turned off the road and through some gates the driver had opened via remote control. About 3/4-mile of twists and turns later, we entered a shallow rock valley to see several modern buildings with some missiles, large and small, standing around. We parked at what appeared to be the main building, entered the lobby, and asked for a tour! Turns out it was a highly-classified Morton Thiokol propulsion facility; they designed and tested fuels and fuel delivery systems for all types of NASA and military rockets. After the Chief of Security had seen my father's D/L and asked our business -- there WERE no tours! -- he found out Dad was an RCA electrical engineer with a high security clearance and a long background in aerospace applications. The guy summoned the Chief of HR, who promptly invited him to come to wonderful, friendly Utah to work for MT! He didn't go for it, but that was an interesting half-hour, alright. I guess our embarrassingly tourist-family looks convinced him at a glance we weren't spies.
I lived for a while in Brigham City which is not far from Thiokol. Never saw the actual site but Dad & I flew past in a light plane at one point and I saw the big burn mark on the side of the mountain where they tested the Shuttle SRBs.
You had one job, just the one!
You can see how something like this could happen in real life
M-O-O-N, that spells "I gotta have more cowbell!"
If only the rest of the series was as good as this seven minutes. Same with Watchmen, the opening credits are the best part of the movie.
I love how this ties in with The Dark Tower series
I don't care about the words. This is my all-time favorite mini-series (And I'm actually re-reading the book for the millionth time!). It's STILL awesome. Thanks for the upload anyway and for all the headache you've been through!
A cable channel used to show this every Thanksgiving.
Oh shit.. I had nightmares for months after watching this as a child. I would wake up every night and look out all the windows and look in all the rooms to make sure everyone hadn't died of plague, haha.
I haven't watched it since then! Blue Oyster Cult still send a shiver up my spine ;D
Thanks for the upload!
Love this movie :) Thank you very much for putting it up.

jade wow i love this movie
I always have a massive fit of 90s nostalgia when the opening credits roll!
“Campeon? Campeon! Practice social distancing!”
Campion : )
Oh hell, every town in America got a Campion, we are so screwed.
This is an early "TV Special." In my opinion it's one of the best horror movies ever made.
Thank you so much for uploading this. One of my favorite movies/mini-series.
I got to meet Steven King when he was passing through our small town, he signed my copy of The Stand and talked with me for a long time. I told him that I wanted to be a writer and how awesome I thought he was..He is one of the sweetest people I have ever met!

I vividly remember being I think 14 and HOOKED to the TV, recording every episode and watching the whole thing from beginning to end multiple times. I've had the DVD ever since it came out and have also watched it many times (it has an insanely good commentary by Stephen King, Mick Garris (the director) Miguel Firrer, Rob Lowe and more)
Thank you for posting these!
thanks for uploading- i watched it when you first posted it and again and now a third time- thanks for bothering to do it- love this movie
I like how this isn't just "the apocalypse" or "after the apocalypse" but actually follows it all the way through.
Also, "I saw a pale horse and a pale rider" The man driving the white car is wearing white.
"The horse's name was pestilence and the rider's name was death" The car is carrying the virus, and the man is dying from it.
Thanks so much for posting this! I've been wanting to see it since I read the book.
just wanna say thanks for uploading this i have been waiting for this for a long time so cheers !!!

Great 👌 movie 🎥 thanks
1Jn 4:17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.
1Jn 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
1Jn 4:19 We love Him because He first loved us.
Thank you for uploading this, it is my first time watching it, and the watermark blends in after the first few minutes.

Thank you for taking the time to upload.
Casting was great othere then molly ringwald. Gret movie thanks for puting it up
And that in a nutshell is why if something super deadly AND highly contagious ever gets out we're all screwed. It only takes one selfish asshole (and there are always selfish assholes) to cause containment measures to fail.
very good movie...ty for putting it up :)
absolutely brilliant
One of the greatest openings of any movie.
Thank you for posting this. I like both the book and the TV miniseries Though I will always be partial to the book : )

Not with a bang but with a whimper... Behold...........the walking dude.......Long live Roland!
WOW!it's the 1st time I hear about this movie! I think they never released it in my country. hope you will upload the rest soon! thanks a lot!!!!
In the book, SK explains that the plague was designed to be a weapon of war. It slowly degrades over time. So the first victims succumb almost instantly. As time moves on, it kills more slowly until it mutates into something benign. Of course, there is no way for the civilians to know any of this, thus their concern that Capt Tripps is still around later.
Thanks so much! :)
Thanks for uploading this, I can't seem to find my copy anywhere. Hmmmmm..... It's such a good movie.
wow, a Chevy Citation that runs!
In the military and that's all he could afford a citation

Thanks for the movie! and don't worry about the watermark because for example they are a bunch of people who don't even know how to upload a movie (that would be me lol) great movie!!
dude, i read the DT was going to be a movie. That's awesome.
I'm really the Fall of Gillead right now.
I love this scene so much. Post-apocalyptic scenarios FTW!
In the book it explains that the only reason he was able to get out was because the doors in his guard station didnt seal him in like they were supposed to in case of a leak. So its not really so much that he ignored the rules more that every thing went wrong at once.
Beautiful job. Keep doing! Thanks!--Emmy
I've always thought this was King's best work because it's so realistic. Let's hope it's not too realistic!
