    the movie is good, but I highly recommend the book. Read the uncut edition of the Stand. One of the greatest books I've ever read. It has an extra 150 or so pages that Stephen King scrapped in the original because his editors thought it was too long or racy or something like that.

    @TheSoulMan8 By this time, his powers were starting to go (Also indicated in the book). Even Nadine said that his powers had a "short life', which explained why a lot of people had started to leave "in the dead of night", and that he was losing control of the situation (The murder of the Judge didn't go the way he had planned, and he CERTAINLY didn't see the suicides of Dayna and Nadine coming).

    @tuggernuts6432 True, though technically, he's not the Devil. Mother Abigail refers to him as "the Imp of Satan," which is fairly accurate, since the Dark Tower saga later reveals him as the Prime Minister and right hand man of the Crimson King (the King universe's version of the Devil).

    Well, but then again, King did write the teleplay for the miniseries. We know how much studio execs love to screw up the creative aspects of a project, why would this have been any different? No, I beleive that King was responsible for some of it, but then the studio also did things to detract from how good this could have been. • @johnnysunday402
      @johnnysunday402 Před 9 měsíci

      Good question.
      The "force of good" or "god" is the easy answer.
      But, It has been poised that 'he' is speaking to himself, watching himself fail from beyond our realm/time.
      Our realm/universe /page is just one of 'Flaggs' stomping grounds, and the body he inhabits is just an avatar, a fraction of his timeless evil.
      So Flagg is watching himself fail and knows it's time to leave, but decides to see the game through.
      It is also thought that Flagg may have tried and failed to reign in this timeline MANY times, that this is another repetition of his failure, but he refuses to quit even though he knows the outcome as his power in our realm fades.
