The key to winged eyeliner is to be brave on the first swipe and just go for it, if you’re too cautious it gets wobbly and it’s more likely to go wrong!

    Tips for liner:
    1. On the outermost part of your eye, there is a tiny gap between your upper eyelid and lower one. That’s where I usually start.
    2. Put a small dot before you draw your actual liner on both your eyes to mark where you want your wing to be. (This also helps in matching eyeliner on both the sides)
    3. Now start at the EDGE of your upper eyelid and pull it out towards the dot that you made.
    4. Now draw liner on your actual eyelids. Start from the point where your lashes start.
    5. Connect the wing to the liner on the eyelid.
    6. Take a wet Q tip and clean out the wing to make to sharp and straight.
    7. If you feel like your makeup has been erased then use concealer there
    8. Do the same to the other eye
YOU ARE NOW GOOD TO GO!

Tip for eyeliner: Try using a smaller hand held mirror so you can see exactly what you're doing. Start thin in the middle and go out but thinly first.

When I first started with liquid liner, I used tape to line the wing. Then it’s just the game of aligning the tape. Also when you draw in the rest of the liner, keep your face centered to the mirror and try not to close them. That’s just how I do it. It may be different to others. Just keep practicing!!! You got this girl!!! 💚

It just really important for us to take a sit back and relax and reflect on what we're going through. It makes sense. I have my own issues with OCD, Anxiety, Control, Depression, PTSD, Abuse, Body Issues and self sabotaging thoughts/behaviors from growing up in the foster care system and bouncing around placements/schools, being homeless, living in shelters, having it all, losing it all, not being able to trust. living on the streets and sometimes in my car. I’ve been in therapy my whole life; I try use my platform as a source of healing/therapy for me and as a way to bring awareness to Mental Health which is severely underfunded. I keep forgetting that I need to be in THIS moment and not rush things and not put all my happiness in one person, job or thing (food or electronics.) It takes time to make the shift from victim to survivor/advocate. But one thing I will tell anyone is this….your voice and your thoughts are your most powerful weapons. Don’t let anyone ever tell you that you are not worthy or that you cannot do something.

What I learned in therapy is that you‘ll feel worse before you can feel better. When you start therapy and you start digging deeper into yourself and all the trauma that you‘ve pushed into the back of your mind for so long, you basically have to re-live every emotion again. But it helps, so keep going!

Therapy can really help. Don’t be afraid to switch therapists. If going to therapy, you want someone you connect with. It can take time to find a great match. I finally found someone actually listens to me. Found out that all I’ve struggled with throughout my life was harder because I was undiagnosed Autistic. He is helping me cope with things that actually work for me rather than overwhelming me.

Hi alisha! Girl, I used to be soooooooo bad at winged liner. Like it would be wavy, uneven, just the worst. But as I’ve practiced and learned how to do it. I learned to take an angle brush and eyeshadow and start sketching and you can just rub it in if it needs fixing. That helped me because I was able to practice the shape of the wing. Also my eyes are more circular and when I was doing the wing liner it wasn’t fitting the shape of my eye, so testing out different eyeliner types also helped. Hope this helps you and you will be able to do and it will be amazing. You can do anything you put your mind to.

  • @lanilive8471
    @lanilive8471 Před 3 lety

i felt that struggle for the liner, i think i've finally got it in the bag so lemme drop my tips for anyone who needs it:
    - hold your liner pen with the fine tip beside your eye
    - extend the wing from ur bottom waterline up to where u want it to end, this doesn't have to follow the curve of ur waterline (i start small so u can extend it out more)
    - put the finest tip part at middle of ur eyelid and connect it to the end
    - fill it in
    - with a VERY LIGHT HAND extend the wing out a bit so you have a crisp line and it looks snatched
bonus: extend it near the front (again with a very light hand) so it looks like a cat eye
    some extra tricks:
    - do your liner first so u can clean it up with concealer if you mess up
    - use a smaller or magnified mirror
    - tilt ur head up so ur basically looking at ur nostrils (it helps you see ur eyelid without closing ur eyes), similar to putting on falsies
    - rest ur hand on ur face as you do it, also make sure ur elbow is on a surface. you want a steady arm for winged liner
    - some people have a gap between where their bottom waterline is and where their eyeliner starts and that can make your eyeliner stick out. when people say extend from the bottom waterline, you dont have to follow the curve but extend it from that point so ur eyeliner seems cohesive with your eye shape.
that's all my tips, good luck yall!

Tips for getting better at winged liner:
    1. Practice, practice, PRACTICE!
    2. I sit at a table while I do my eyeliner, so my elbow stays leveled and does not change the degree of the wing. (I have of trouble when I don’t do this, worse so I feel like it helps.
    3. Try different forms of eyeliner. I prefer the dip in eyeliner over the pencil or marker type, and I prefer the brush applicators over the felt tip ones. So buy a bunch and the dollar or drug store and try a different kind every day or week.
Good luck girl you got this!

My anxiety consists of major stress and things I can’t control. When I’m feeling out of control I honestly just sit and color or read for awhile until my anxiety goes away. But lately it’s been better and it’s because of my therapist. Also eyeliner tip I usually start with the line on my upper lash line so I can map out how thick or thin I want it, and then follow the shape from the corner of my eye to the end of my eyebrow tip.

my tips for doing winged liner:
    - start with the wing first, i usually just make a line from the end of my top waterline/lash line ig, in that little crease where the bottom and top meet and i kinda just follow the natural shadow/shape of it or try lining it up to the end of my eyebrow
    - handheld mirror bc its easier when its closer
    - keep your eyes open when you do your eyeliner
    - i also find it easier to angle your face up
    - OH and also try making the wing on both eyes at the same time, like dont finish one eye and then do the other, i find doing them at the same time helps with making them as symmetrical as possible

Genuinely, I appreciate how open you are about going to therapy. Your solo episode on PB talking about your journey with anxiety inspired me to finally dive in and get the help I've been needing for honestly at least the past 12 years. I tried over the last year during COVID to see a therapist virtually with no luck. I watched your videos one day with BetterHelp as a sponsor. I signed up and got matched almost instantly and have been seeing them every week for almost 3 months now! Thank you for your advocacy of mental health. Excited for this new series.

Yes please do this. I started therapy the beginning of January. But I lost faith in them. Because a woman just broke my trust. But I do want to seek therapy again. Don't worry. Thank you for being so open. I have anxiety and depression

For the eyeliner instead of trying to stamp it on try this. Put the tip of your eyeliner pen on the outer corner of your eye like make it touch the absolute outer corner then drag the pen outwards with the angle you want and stop at the length you want, detach your eyeliner from your eye then start from the tip of the line you just made and drag inwards to the middle of the eye don't go all the way to the inner corner it doesn't look good, and lastly fill in the blank space and voila. It might not look good the first time and it most likely won't but try to practise it this way instead of the way you do it. Love you

i had a goal of doing liner too and here is my process!
    1. make a thin line from the very corner of your eye to the end of your brow.
    2. next connect just below (to keep the point) the tip of the thin line to whoever u want on your eye. i like to go for the middle of my eye.
    3. fill it in
at the end i do come clean up w remover and concealer :) hope this helps

I think you are a 100% CORRECT in saying that everyone should experience having a therapist. I've been putting it off for a WHILE and hearing you start this series will be a huge help! Quick question for a future episode (if applicable) how did you go about finding your therapist? Were they recommended through another doctor, friend, google search, etc... and also how did you know that it was a good match for you? Thanks again! Can't wait for more Vlogs ❤️

A few tips for eyeliner is don’t press as hard and make your wing a little pointer at the end. To make your eye look bigger start with your wing at the very edge of your eye and do it at an angle your want. I love your videos keep up the amazing work

Tip for eyeliner use a dark eyeshadow and an angle brush to make the outline of the wing first then go over it with liquid eyeliner. Makes it so much easier!

I definitely loved your eyeliner. Not sugarcoating or anything and I really liked how minimalistic it was. And the lashes really helped it. I think you should put on eyeliner more often because your makeup look was quite different from your other vlogs and in a good way. And whenever you sit down and talk about a topic or anything I find that therapeutic. So basically love this series.

I mastered winged liner during quarantine! I first started by using brown eyeshadow and practicing different wing angles on my eyes. And once I liked the shape, I traced over with the liquid liner. It still takes me some time but now I don’t need to outline with eyeshadow and just go straight in with liquid liner ❤️ love you, hope it helps

I suffer from academic/test anxiety. What really helps when I start spiraling is to just combat my anxious thoughts with logic. So if I’m stressing over a hw question, instead of instantly thinking I’m stupid and will never reach my goals, I try to think of solutions , such as watching Khan Academy or going to tutoring.
    I hope this helped someone!

Winged eyeliner is actually not that difficult. I would definitely recommend investing in a good felt tip liner with a thin tip for more precision. Start with making a single line which looks like it’s extending from your lower lash line and then connect it with the tip lash line about half a centimetre in and fill it in. Boom winged liner

Alisha, you are a true angel of a person. You are so tender-spirited and kind-hearted. I have never met you in person, but I do feel like I know you on some kind of level. I have been following your journey since 2014. In the past 9 years, you have inspired me in so many ways. You have taught me to always believe in myself and to never stop chasing my dreams. You also taught me to know my worth and to stick up for myself. I feel like I have grown up with you. Your videos were a huge part of my childhood. I hope that you are so proud of yourself for how far you have come and the person you have and continue to become.
I suffer from severe anxiety as well. I am actually on medication just like you. I am on it for social and health. I have had many surgeries throughout my life and my father who sadly passed away back in 2018 had many crazy, scary health issues too. Thank you for being so brave and opening up about your anxiety. It's nice to know I'm not alone when it comes to that.
I love you so much, Alisha. You are forever my favorite CZcamsr. I hope you see this comment and reply. I hope that you are doing well. Much love to you always, Queen of CZcams. You are a beautiful light and gift to this world. ❤️❤️❤️

Before committing with the eyeliner, I usually start with eyeshadow and a eyeliner brush to map it out, it’s easier to wipe away and make corrections! Then when perfected, go over it with eyeliner :)

Alisha… I feel the same way! Recently, I’ve been struggling with anxiety more lately. I definitely agree that it has to do with not being in control. Which I just realized from watching your video😭 I’m having a realization lol. Now, I’m going to remind myself that it’s okay to not be in control and things don’t always have to be perfect 👍🏽

I also struggle with Anxiety and Pure O OCD. I am very particular about certain things like cleanliness, morals and work ethic. I try to put that on other people at time and it is unwelcomed. So if I am bothered by someone’s else behavior or actions then I just let it go by allowing someone else to approach the person about it. I just tell myself if it is that bad then someone will be bothered by it too. Being the confrontational person is just overwhelming after awhile.

you should try winged eyeliner with a dark brown/black eyeshadow! I used to love doing liquid but it can be harsh without lashes...eyeshadow is easier to blend/smoke out and you can perfect/sharpen the wing by using a makeup sponge and dragging up beside the wing - hard to explain but hope that made sense 💕

One of the best eyeliner tips I've learned is you can use a thin brush and make a line with concealer first, and then trace over it with liner! This way you can "erase" and move the lines if they are uneven or you don't like them, before committing to a full liner. Has really helped me have even eyes!

  • @Dievacka
    @Dievacka Před 3 lety

Eye liner TIP: use liquid liner pencil tip as a guide, see what angle you like and then press it as stamp to the eye flat, then you’ll have a shape and only will need to make it sharper, conect and fill miss ing spots. Only works with “sharpie” style liner pen

For wing liner: start at the end of like ur lash line and then draw a line towards end of eyebrow but like don’t be shy just go for it don’t go slow otherwise it’ll look bad, then go from the middle of the line drawn and draw a line straight down and thennn fill in

Use lancome liquid liner!! Incredibly easy to maneuver and fix as well. Start from the middle rather than the edge. And pull your corner taut. Go in a straight line towards the edge and a slight angle upwards past the eye lid. Works everytime =)
