Mk4 rear lights would look sick
Only just watching this, great content,am a freelance vinyl wrapper,if you ever get stuck again, give me a shout, just to add you done very well on your first attempt mate. Invest in a wrap glove for the recesses, and try to "glass" the panel out first before squeegeeing (laying) keep up the good work brother 🚀✌️
Looking awesome Dan! Keep up the good work. Can't wait till you get back to doing the GTI
Loving the caddy videos, keep on doing what you do best mate
Fantastic job on the roof , always good to try and learn something new. Great effort Dan 👌
Great work mate I like the way Ur honest about things that have not quite worked. Can't wait to see the finished product
Piece by piece and that will look fabulous.Cant wait for a next episode.Cheers mate
Love your work ethic of not scared to try anything Dan 👏 good work as always
You've made a great job of that Dan,can't wait for the next one
Great video Dan, keep up the good work and knocking out the content!
Those invisible trim clips are amazing. Makes the carpet job look so much better
What a talented young fella you are , good work and a passion to try it yourself , well done sir.
Lovely Jubbly Dan, have admire your trimming and dedication to the detail.
Another A1 episode, I look forward to the next video. Thank you for taking us on this jouney with you. I hope you get that play button soon. Come on 71% hit that button.
Awesome job Dan, well impressed
This series is making me want to do another van myself after selling my trafic. Keep it up 👍🏻
Amazing video pal. 🙌🏼
Dan I love waiting for Sunday content to come on. Van looks amazing as always, you’ve worked hard this week well done. I’m definitely gonna do those invisible clips the next time I re-trim. Think the roof looks better without the vinyl but respect your decision we all have our own tastes 🤟
this thing is looking amazing! well done mate!
Van coming along nicely Dan
Nice job Dan you are going all out on the interior, didn't know you would be doing the inside as nice as it is but it's looking great, look forward to the next instalment 🤗👍
Great video looking forward to the next and seeing what you are
planning for headlining
Stay safe. 👍👍
Great work as always dan, vans looking mega now 😊
😀 result top work Dan ! Look forward to Sunday 9 o’clock
Top work mate, keep up the hard work. Videos are amazing
Love your attuide. So positive despite the challenges. Just bought a 2015 low mileage caddy maxi. Is a workhorse. Will be looked after & slightly modified.
Looks great man!!
Looking good Dan. Great effort. 👍👍
Nice one Dan,van looks awesome. Great job that
Looking Sweet Dan some great tips there appreciate the honesty 👍
Great job mate, looking good!
Love the Roof mat black. 👍
Great work dude.
It’s looking massive !🙂🇮🇪
Looks nice and cosy in the back of the van. Who needs a car when you can have a van that looks like that. Great work 👍
Try it, you might like it. And it is a much easier fix than paint. It will, actually does right now, look good and be what you want. Thanks for trying new things and "getting your hands dirty" to show others it can be done.
That Golf is going to definitely look mega.
Went and bought a Caddy off the back of this series. Really like the wrapped roof!
Really taking shape now.
Andrews right get matt Armstrong on the go for the roof... loving this caddy project bud top class work. Wish i had your ability
Great video as always. I forgot to upload vids in a long time. steering wheel looks fresher than the mk5 anyways. its looking the buisness now. love the carpet lining
Love those wheels 👌
Looks tops Dan ...
Looking sweet
Keep up the good work. 👍
Awesome job mate 👍 don't want this build to end 😔
Keeps getting better Dan those hidden clips keep it super clean. Any plans for a sound system?
Mate hit up Matt Armstrong he’s over your way I think anyway, good to see a joint vid from you two.
Agreed!!
Yup Mat will help as looks a two man job dude anyhow
Dan appeared in one of Mat’s videos already so they know each other.
@@thedeanacollins What video do you remember?
@@joshjack6127 testing my memory, I think it was an R8 one not long after Mat got his unit. Not sure on the date, sorry.
I was waiting for you to reconnect the battery... think if the bag was gonna go off, it would have done it when you connected it since the battery wasn't disconnected.
We used to pop air bags with voltmeters in school, was a lot of fun haha.
Looking good bud 🇬🇧✊🏻
Defo a mod for my caddy nice one 👍🏻
Thanks!
Nice progress Dan. Puts my workhorse caddy to shame 🤣
One of the best van builds iv seen! Dead honest guy amazing work for an amateur. Are you going to ceramic coat that killer paint job 👌🏼
I’ve just put an RCD330 nav into my Polo 6R. Would highly recommend if it worked with the caddy, looks oem and completely modernises the dash!
Love the steering wheel just plain and simple and really effective. Do you fancy painting our new project?
I know you said you didn’t like the leather. But the Rock Up! Steering wheel is the same shape and no multi function but is leather and has gloss black trim. Looks like an R wheel with no buttons
Awesome work wheel looks good suits it kinda clean looking, reminds me of an older polo/lupo one. I'm gonna have to start selling stuff from my local scrappy, I got a leather one Inc airbag for £25 he is cheap on parts he just want as much stripped quick so he can weigh in the shells etc
Mint!
Brave to change the air bag with the battery connected!! 😂 Good work Dan love the channel
As a car-mechanic, I know the airbag stories are heavily over-exaggerated and all hearsay.
An airbag is not powered to get triggered, it's only powered when needed.
The only thing the ECU does at power-up is measuring for continuity.
When installing an airbag nothing will happen.
Neither is hitting it.
Dan can you change the rear clusters to the later version. I reckon it’ll smarten up the rear
Hello a great video perfect job greetings from Germany 🇩🇪 👋👋👋Kai🛠
Another belter👍
Did you hide the panel clips this time? If so, do the heads show through the carpet at all?
Dan it looks fu###g amazing fella fair play 👍👍🤩 you should really consider painting the mk1🤔 as you really do have a hidden skill 👍👍
It's on the roof. Don't worry too much only giants will see it
Your trimming of the back looks great. Not a fan of the black vinyl roof though if I'm honest
That roofs a job for mat Armstrong!!
Sell the van to Vag recycle so we can buy tickets for it 😃
Epic Work!!! currently on my caddy maxi! what model VW is that steering wheel from? dont think you mentioned the source. Epic work
Loving the build, you’ve inspired me to paint my t5 the same colour.. just out of interest, do you register the van as blue or grey ?
Tip if you do it yourself again, glass as much of the vinyl out first before you squeegee mate. Tack to each corner till its glassed. Think of it like youre putting on a bed sheet.
That is bloody cheap and looks really nice. Shame airbags cost that much but for ehat your getting it's great value... just annoying to have to spend 200 to upgrade the wheel
They have gone up since I fitted them too!
Van looking cool. Is that a Vw up steering wheel? Keep up the good work.
Might find the airbag light will need the airbag ecu resetting as it will of stored crash data...dont think vagcom will let you clear the codes as crash data will still be stored on the air bag ecu
ill re wrap the caddy roof
Class shift there Dan. Looking fab! Did you use the DEADN duo on both the floor and the roof? What thickness Thermo liner did you put on the walls?
Did you also do behind the door cards in the front as well as doing the floor of the cab?
Cheers bud, err I think I did. It was a long time ago that I built this van! Best bet is to speak to Dodo Mat Uk as they will be the best to advise. I did behind the doorcards and a little on the cab floor.
Reviving an old video but where did you get the steering wheel Dan? Need a new one for my caddy
Looking good man, ive tried wrapping before and made a mess of it lol good attempt from you pal.
My favourite bit of doing a van, sound deadening and lining with carpet
Im planning on making my caddy into a lil day/weekend sleeper. Just wondering whether youd recommend using ply for the carpeted panels or whether pvc board would work too to use a lighter material?
Yes mate ya wanna get in touch with Matt Armstrong do a joint vid get the roof rapped dude
Where did you source the steering wheel from? Looking for something for a t4. It looks awesome
if you're keeping it, maybe an android head unit. great transformation.
If the AIrbag controller has logged an activation/crash data then vcds will not reset it. It's either a replacement controller (ouch) or send away to the numerous online vendors offering the reset to factory spec on the used unit.
Maybe fit an RCD330 radio to bring it up to modern standards?
Hi Dan, how many square metres of the carpet and sound deadening did you use? Looking to carpet my maxi but unsure on how much I need
Please disconnect the battery when changing the steering wheel the next time
Speak to Matt Armstrong about vinyl wrapping, he’s done a few now and seems to know his stuff about wrapping
Vinyl roof - How 1970s :-)
Is this van a keeper Dan or will it be for sale?! 🤍
Are those airbags the same as vw golfs?
What vehicle is the flat bottom wheel you used actually out of?
In future unplug the battery when dealing with airbags.
What wheel is that I'm looking to chamge the wheel in my caddy really want a mk2 tt wheel but don't no if its a straight fit
Where can I get that steering wheel? Thanks
Can someone explain where I can find that wheel. Is it from a golf?
Where can I buy the steering wheel?
Where’s the Steering wheel from mate
I used to have a mk5 golf gti steering wheel in mine flat bottom, no multifunctional, got the wheel for 50 and the airbag for 19 great wheel it was
Are you keeping or selling?
what model is the steering wheel ?
