Susan, I don’t know if you will read this. I hope you do, because I want you to know you are an inspiration to women all over the world. You have one of the most beautiful voices I’ve ever heard. And why would anyone criticize your appearance? You’re an attractive middle-aged working class woman. Not a half-starved, over-operated botox queen. You have great stage presence. You look like me and most of my friends on our best day with a professional hairstyle and subtle, flattering makeup that show off your best features. You look fabulous in those sparkly dresses. You are a star. So what if you’re a slow learner? I’m a fast learner, but let me tell you I can forget things just as fast as I learned them. Slow learners remember better. My stepson has Asperger’s syndrome. I have nonverbal learning disorder. We’re not stupid! Just different. And once you’ve graduated from school, nobody gives a shite if you were an A student or a C student. Last but not least, you are a woman of character, caring for your parents in their old age. I’m so sorry you’re undergoing health challenges. I respect your reasons for stepping back from the spotlight. I wish you all the best on your healing journey. I hope you will come back to performing and recording to whatever extent you want to, in a way that will enhance your life and not stress you out.
