    I thought Tipplers was just another name for Roller or Tumbler Pigeons so I have learned something - thanks!

    I'm sorry to correct you but both the Birmingham roller and tipler were both developed from the west of england tumbler which do fly in kits just like rollers but much tumble in stead of rolling but they fly much higher and longer similar to tipplers. PS I love ya vids ☺️☺️

    Excellent video, I had no idea the differences in those pigeons. The hen seems to be pretty used to you letting you handle her chicks, that was really cool.

    This is a great vid mate, good information on the breeds. I now understand the other breeds as well as rollers were the one I knew a little about. Liked the info on eggs and chicks as well.

    Just for anyone thinking about west's (tumblers) make sure to ask if their flying birds as so many are sadly breed for the show pen and are only tumblers by name and can't fly for toffees. I flew west for 15 years and loved them.

    Thank you mate for the information on different pigeons breeds, i am totally in love with pigeons since childhood, I have moved to Canada thirty years ago and I never knew there is ever any interest about pigeons outside of middle east, Now i wander if i can import few real rollers .

    Amazing, I love this series.
    Might be a stupid question but how do you attach the wire cage when the pigeons are out having a bath? I noticed they're not sat on the landing board.

    Most tumbler breeds are only bread for show quailtys. may still flyable.Tipplers ive seen are tighter feathered birds alittle smaller than roller . More compact and powerful, they also come in a huge variaty of colors like rollers. Nice bird smaller than tippler fun bird portuguese tumblers,alot of colors ,fly lower and nkt as long as tippler ,frendly and dont eat a lot. Mostly breed for standard but clean no look like small tippler.

    Its good if you have more birds you can swap the babys putting the to bjg and two small babys togeather . I swap babys around all the time . Used to be you had to pay more for old pairs now everyone swaps the parrents around all the time you just end up with more problems . I find you dont know the quality of young just getting four or six babys and changing pairs . Keep them togeather a couple of seasons and you get a better idea of baby quality.

    what is the difference between Birmingham rollers and other rollers. Because i have 4 Birmingham and i just bought 6 rollers but they arent Birmingham rollers... can i breed them one roller and one Birmingham? thank you!

    • @LozHarrop
      @LozHarrop  Před 7 lety +2

      What you call the bird ie birmingham roller or just roller is not the issue, look how the bird flys and how well it rolls and kits with others, if it is a good rolling and kitting bird then breed it with one like,
      it It does not matter where they came from or what the guy you got them from called them. Just breed good birds with good birds and then call them your own strain, like Serge rollers.Cheers.

      @sergeradionov2533 Před 7 lety

      ppotty1 thank you for replying! now i have another question my Birmingham rollers dont fly... they just hang out on the roof while the other rollers that i bought fly and roll. what would cause that? would me feeding them too often cause that?

    • @LozHarrop
      @LozHarrop  Před 7 lety

      The birds can get lazy mate, mine do and I have to scare them up to fly, if they can get away with not flying they will. you can throw the worst ones up in the air so they get the message.
