When the entire ship full of genetically enhanced super soldiers stop and stare at Master Chief as he takes his armour off. You just know who is the top dog there.
They're not genetically enhanced. Spartan IV's are normal humans in durable armor. Chief is the one with the augmentations. That's why he's a giant compared to the others.
Erik Raygadas
They are, at some point. Small touches of strength enhancement and such.
thegreeenbeast
No. That's bullshit and you know it. II's have more uh, biological enhancements, titanium bones, inhuman reaction time. I don't think I've ever read the IV's getting the same augmentations. Plus, what the main difference is, is that they were augmented when they were young. They grew around the augmentations, that's why they're actually taller than the IV's.
thegreeenbeast
Fight it all you can. They have ALL the same UNSC issued armor. Only MC uses the outdated armor. The reason that the III's use different armor is because they were there early 2552.
thegreeenbeast Did they write books that were canon? Plus, you were saying they were stronger than II's using the SAME SERIES of suits that are also currently used by the II's active in service.
The Elites called him "demon" for a reason
Julius Wallace it's a insult
Atriox called red team little demons
Chief1337 it WAS an insult, now the Arbiter use it more of a status symbol for the chief, while still being somewhat of an insult
@@meckam "An insult to be sure... but one with a modicum of respect."
THE Demon
This is my favorite halo cutscene still gives me chills. From the Didact's speech to the reactions of all the Spartan 4's as they see a living legend pass by them. Simply perfect.
this game was a perfect setup for an new trilogy, its heavily flawed but playable and its story sets up some really interesting bits.
then halo 5 comes along and just nose dives that all into a composer.
One of the biggest faults in halo 4 its story was to eliminate the Didact, the story can be replayed after reading the material its based on for a greater expirience but it also leaves that terrible aftertaste that they have written this incredible character who is the extact same as chief but at the end of its lifecycle out of this story after its first apperance in the story itself.
@@solar7427 i have a theory that they will bring him back. he didnt seem too damaged by that grenade, and he is immune to being composed. My theory is that he is on another world, the composer sent him there (like in the comics, but i havent actually read them) and hes recovering. but he found what was left of cortana in the domain, and decided to turn the weapon that led to his downfall against humanity. so he created the persona of the warden eternal, and pretended to be assisting and subservient to cortana, to get her to either entrap, compose or halo the humans and all life. then he will be able to take over control again and eliminate cortana, thus making him the big bad once more.
just a theory i have, but would be cool if something like that does happen. we need more didact!
@@arbiterprime2145 he got killed off in halo escalation, a side comic. But I have hope that The Haborger that asharam was talking about is the didact. If he was still alive somewhere you know he cannot ignore a mendicant bias v2.0 situation without trying to fix that, for all his anger and madness towards humanity, he still sees the flood as his biggest and most dreadful enemy and will do anything to stop that
@@solar7427 His voice actor alone is a perfectly valid reason to bring him back lmao.
@@mikethespike056 VA yes but also his importance to the story as a whole, I kinda wish 343i would reboot their story just to have him included again, but that isnt going to happen
I love how you get a reference for how fucking huge the chief actually is
They actually said that the company that did this cutscene accidentally made him too big, he's meant to be almost 8 foot or so but they made him about 10 foot in this cutscene
Julian yeah the human scientests are like half his height here, he’s only 7’2 and while thats still huge he shouldnt be double the height of a normal human. He should realistically be like five inches taller than Palmer here.
Yea hes 7'2" but hes also in a suit of armor that weighs half a ton. Gonna add some bulk
Julian nevertheless spartan 2 SHOULD be 10 feet tall , helps their reputation and legend
He’s 7’2 in armor

Almost 9 years later and I still come back to watch this every so often.
Same here. The didact speech

So do I, man. I remember watching it for the first time as if it was yesterday. And though that naive 19 y.o. me is largely gone... Chills and nostalgia every time, without fail.
Same. Can't believe it was 9 years ago, but I suppose it shows how good this cutscene (and a couple of others) was for us to be able to remember it.

I love how they had to take Chief's armour off manually instead of it been taken off automatically in those machines because he is too big and they aren't designed for him.
@OWO no because he couldnt fit
22 13 it's both really.
OWO Yeah but Cortana made modifications to his suit while he was in Cryo-sleep for 4 years.
Not only that, but he alone, sans armor, weighs almost as much as an S-IV does *IN* their armor. The only reason an S-IV can go toe-to-toe with an S-II is because their armor is more advanced. If an S-II fought an S-IV with both of them out of their MJOLNIR, it wouldn't even be a contest. It'd be like Ali in his prime fighting an amateur wrestler: they may as well not even be the same species. Which, in a way, S-IIs aren't.
@@bobojo37 Spartan IV have all the same augmentations as Spartan II and III. Only difference is improvements in technology allows this to be done without killing potential spartans and no human rights were violated. No children kidnapped. Every member is recruited from elite UNSC military branches like ONI or the ODST. All this comes with the perk of a newer, more versatile version of the Mjolnir armor. Also don't forget that Spartan IV enrollment was open to all prior Spartan generations. Any Surviving Spartan II and III are probably now classified as Spartan IV when they wear the new Mjolnir and fight side by side with their IV counterparts.
I always find it incredible how Massive Master Chief is compared to the other Spartans as he walks past Sarah. I also Love how she tried to reach for his hand a bit, but Chief was to distant personality wise.
Nice observation. Chief is very kept away from humanity. And the other Spartans are just normal humans, while Chief went through biological augmentations. He's an awesome character to have in gaming.
thegreeenbeast well, sorry for being wrong?
I wish Chiefs armour was darker or black with some metallic looking sections. As it is he looks more like a dirt biker than a man moulded and raised to kill from the age of 6.
The Nano suit from Crysis is a perfect analogy for what I mean. It looks like death personified. MC is legend in parts of the covenant empire, also known as the demon. Those legends could match his look.
facelessred to be fair the nanosuit's helmet does look a bit daft but in versatility alone The Mjonir systems are inferior
EssenceOfShattered Suns The thing is, that Nanosuit was developed using Ceph technology.
While MC armor was made by humans for the most part. Even the Ceph has better technology than humans at 2552. They are centuries ahead of us.
But I wouldn't say it's inferior... even though it may seem like it. MC survived a fall from orbit, can cloak as well, can lift TONS. He flipped a Scorpion in the books.
However it was Covenant or heck even Forerunner technology, then that would be a different story. O.o Yet would very be interesting.
P.S.
Can't wait to see more in Halo MCC and Halo 5. :)
its so fucking badass how when chief is getting his armor off everyone stops what they're doing just to watch him
Long Wang what are you talking about? he was a normal human that was kidnapped at a young age and experimented and turned into a spartan. he has no link to the forerunners other then the fact that humanity was created by the librarian. he is about 46 years old. he was born in 2511 and halo 4 is 2557. due to his spartan experiments and enchanted ageing. he has the appearance of an old man.
Long Wang Are the Forerunner Saga books any good? I have all three, I just have not got around to reading them. Glasslands and Thursday War are great reads too.
The Chief looks fucking awesome in his redesigned armor too.
kyle brickley Well, he is not really that old. He has been a lot of years of his life sleeping in cryostasis, not only between the events of Halo 3 and 4 but since he began in the Spartan project, every time the Spartans had to go in a mission, to keep them as long as possible they slept in those chambers, so it's not surprising his age is 46. Johnson, the guy who died because of Spark's Laser in Halo 3, had 72 years and he's appearance was of a man of about 40 and it's because of the same pattern. One more thing: humanity wasn't created by the librarian. Humans were living in the galaxy too but after the Didact's punishment only a few of them remained and the librarian made them go to the Paleolitic stages. After that, those humans were manipulated, so they could manage to learn and control forerruner technology in the future and learn about the past, because she thinks the humans are the solution to the Flood. Don't forget the humans created a cure against it but they destroyed it so the forerruners couldn't take it.
tresuremonk Cryptum is good, because you know about the Didact's past and how the Flood overwhelmed the Forerruner Empire and how the Ark was activated. I still need to read Primordium so I can't give you info about that. I don't even know if there is a third book or something of that saga.
“I stand before you. Accused of the sin of ensuring Forerunner ascendancy. Of attempting to save us from this fate where we are forced to ... recede” such a beautiful line that encompasses the Didact’s hatred of humanity perfectly.
what about Rav-4,s and Jeeps?
Yooo i started reading this comment right when it happened 👀👀👀🤯
Well the Didact about to find out what Humanity can do.
10 years already and this clip is still fucking legendary. But I can't help but shed a tear after what they did to the live TV adaptation. That TV shit is sacrilege.

Chief doesn't even look at Palmer he looks past her. Perfect scene
no he does look at her
no bruh he looks past her
Hayden Melton no.
good for you bruh
Isn't Palmer supposed to be Chiefs love interest?
What I really love about the end scenes is that EVERYONE in that room is looking at Chief. He is the original Spartan, the first and best generation of Spartans, the guy most of the new S-IV's joined the program to be like. He's in old Armour, covered in battle scars and dents and standing taller by a full head than every other person in that room. He can't even use the rings because of his size. He's a true God among Men.
ChickenLover42 Orion Candidates weren't technically Spartans.. Eventually they named them Spartan I's but Spartan II was the first SPARTAN program with the first. SPARTANs..
And there is no way a Spartan IV can outmaneuver Chief or other Spartan IIs.. The generation of John, Kelly, Fred, Sam, Jorge, etc are superior because of their age of indoctrination. They are the complete the godlike physiology compared to Spartan IV's and Spartan IIIs.
It wasn't just luck that made him the most valuable person in the UNSC throughout the war and helped him complete Operation RED FLAG on his own without his Spartan II couterparts, due to their loss at Reach(Most).
John, Fred or Kelly would be able to go Toe to Toe with another Spartan Program's candidate/spartan and come out victorious. Halsey's Spartans are infinitely superior physiologically, physically and of course much more experienced. I presume you're on of those 'New Spartan' fanboys who thinks newer is better. Yeah sorry to burst your bubble bust nothing beats the technical first Spartans. (Again Orion candidates weren't dubbed Spartans until the Spartan II program where they became unofficially known as Spartan I's.
ChickenLover42 Good choice.
ChickenLover42 Wot.
ChickenLover42 new is not always better, wine, prostitute , and even soldier. new wine tastes like piss, new prostitute cant even suck a dick, and new soldiers are just meat shield on the battlefield.
before you start arguing i would like to remind you about the seal team 6,which is a legendary team amongst other seal teams in usa. seal team 6 contains mostly veteran, whom over 40 at least. They are so old they have to use painkiller in every operation. What wins the battle isnt better equipment, it is the soldier's sense of war, their experience and ability to react in every situation.
Want me to prove it again? Try metal gear solid kid.
I feel like the Didact's voice could have been a lot deeper as reverberating. It doesn't Cary that air of power all authority you get when you listen to the Arbiter speaking to agent Locke. When they did the whole "I have long dreamt of this day reclaimer" I got the chilles then but the rest of his appearances have been less intimidating, mid you the dialogue is very poet/prophetic.
I love how they show the small details alluding to John's mental distress. The constant balling of his fists, the slow, distracted walk as he looks at the ground in contemplation, they way he glances at Palmer without acknowledging she's there, the way he stares at the armor station as if removing his suit would expose him to the reality of what has passed, and that quiet, but heavy breath he releases as the helmet comes off. Halo 4 might not have been perfect, but it fleshed out both John and Cortana's characters beautifully. It's a shame Halo 5 squandered all that and basically lied to us with the whole "Hunt the Truth" angle that never came to fruition.
Never seen someone so aptly and concisely summarize exactly how i feel about halo 4 and 5. Halo 4s gameplay wasnt super fun but the story was amazing. the exploration of the forerunner lore and the deeper dive into John and Cortanas characters was a narrative treet. But the gameplay lacked for me. Fighting prometheans just was annoying. Then halo 5 squandered the story set up by halo 4 as well as the story set up by its trailers. They straight lied to us and gave us something far inferior to the story we could have gotten had they just continued where halo 4 left off with the forerunners and chiefs connection to them or if they had capitalized on the cool hunt the truth story they set up in the trailers. That being said the campaign was a lot of fun to playthrough just gameplay wise. Hopefully infinite strikes the right balance and gets both the gameplay and the story this time.
I mean he did fight in a 27 year long war and saw non stop action against the covenant. Not to mention the years of combat against the insurrection before the H-C war. Let’s also not forget that the events of CE, 2, and 3 all take place within a couple months of each other. That had to single-handedly been the greatest amount of stress on Chief. He was never given anytime to process any of this as he went into Cyro sleep only to be awakened to the event of H4. I’m thoroughly surprised he hasn’t snapped and killed an ally yet. He see him slipping in H5 as blue team asks him all the time “whats up”
I’ll never understand people’s hate for Halo 4, I played since the first one, and I actually like Halo 4’s expansion. Just replayed, everything from story to art style. Maybe the gameplay could’ve been a little more fun, but overall I didn’t hate it. Halo 2 will always be my favorite though.

This cutscene alone was worth all the suffering playing the entire MCC on legendary. Just watching the wartorn and battlescarred Master Chief walk past, getting the attention he deserves, full of anger and mourning in his eyes and willing to bring hell to his opponents for the loss of Cortana. Makes me wanna play Halo over and over again.
Truly humanities brightest hero.
I might've done something wrong, but when I was playing through legendary, although I pretty quickly realized that going in guns blazing like I did when playing in any other difficulty wouldn't work, I didn't feel so much resistence after getting a grasp of strategy and prioritizing enemies, and sometimes just skiping entire fights that felt like too much trouble.
It was definitely the most fun I've had tho, I had to think through my every move, and a single misfire would mean a barrage of enemies coming down on me, it was so stressful but after playing through the campaign 3 other times, each in increasing difficulty, each chapter complete felt satisfying, a satisfaction I haven't felt in many other places.
@@bbittercoffee
TLDR: Best approach is to not think too much about it. Just play normally and switch strats from time to time.
It's definitely the approach. Back then I never really liked legendary because I played Halo all guns blazing, last year I tried playing much more slowly but I found it boring. This year I tried going through it casually and I finally enjoy it, I blew past levels that frustrated me back then. Of course you need to know the viable strategies first but that's why you start with normal/heroic.
@@REALMARCHINADER yeah, something like that

I love how the Master Chief clenches his fist. It's a small detail, but it was very appropriate especially due to the Chief having so much on his mind.

He's wore that same armor for 4 years.
Erik Raygadas yea he put it on in halo 2 it's crazy how long it's been. I bet in halo 5 he will get better armor and may be even go rouge. You can see that in the beggining of the game that they were trying to replace chief and I bet agent Locke (don't know how to spell his name) is his replacement
thebruiser10100
I think the new spartan for Halo 5 is not a replacement but more of an agent for ONI to track master chief.

I always laugh when the chief walks past Palmer it's like "who's taller now bitch"

As Chief walks past his fellow Spartans and UNSC crew members, they see him as a god, a machine, a legend or even a myth.
The Covenant saw him as a demon, a monster and a killing machine.
Nobody except Cortana saw him as a human.
and lasky
@@marshalsoult3860 same with Johnson, even saw him as a close friend.

Kelly, Linda and Fred: We saw his pee pee as a kid. We're in dat club too.
@@SrMaximus no. You realize the arbiter and chief only knew each other for a week right. And never even had a conversation until halo bad blood
I like the fact he's just walking there and everyone is watching him while he's going to remove his armor. Palmer made fun of him in Requiem and now she doesn't do anything, he's just like a superman, the only human who could save the Earth AGAIN, the only human who is able to change the fate of everyone. The rest of the spartans are good but he's just so badass that no one says anything, he's a legend for all of them.
You have to also remember that Spartan IIs and their feats are stuff of legends in the Haloverse. I doubt alot of those Spartan IVs have ever seen one in the flesh, nevermind the most legendary of all of them.
+EssenceOfShattered Suns They don't know the Spartan very well, they know his number of kills is so high that it's inconceivable for any of the Spartans IV or even III. Spartan II were the best but they were so expensive only a few chosen ones could wear the incredible Mark 5 and, months later, the Mark 6 (This case I believe is only with 117, I don't remember any other Spartan II wearing Mark 6, let alone Mark 7 which was on Onix right at the time it 'woke'). Someone capable of discovering the Flood and survived to tell the human race what it represents...just that fact makes him someone very important. In Halo 5 I guess he will not be so important as I think Locke and the Arbiter will have more weight in the story, let's not forget they have to fight the old forerruner war machines, the Guardians.
Juan José Del Pino Rivas spartan I's are better. Kicking human ass
Juan José Del Pino Rivas all spartan 2s that survived augmentation were originally given mark 4 (no shields), and then given mark 5 (shielded) and they wore the mark 5 for duration of the human covenant war. Mjolnir was developed for the Spartans to wear and use so why would only a few of them wear it?
She never made fun of him..... It was just playful banter
I love how the Armor never moved when it hit the ground showing how heavy it is.
It took us 11 years to see just his eyes, meanwhile the halo TV show literally showed his face within the first episode.
Halo TV Show is atrocious
but, how much cooler was it to see his eyes here than the show. the show was such a let down, but here, it still keeps the mystery alive. if they ever show his face in the future games, i hope he looks like steve downes the voice of chief
Not to mention the cheeks
Man.. I keep coming back to this video every once in a while and I get goosebumps every single time I watch it. Every soldier, every Spartan, every technician stopping what they were doing and just staring at the Master Chief, who is one of the most legendary heroes of the human - covenant conflict. Literally a living legend.
This is why I absolutely love the Halo universe. I have played so many game series' over the years with great lore but nothing takes me on a bigger emotional ride than the Halo universe.

If you'd read the books you'd know how ridiculous the story was, even the domain being there itself. If you didn't read the books you likely didn't buy Cortana as the villain.
1:24 THAT is how big chief is compared to the newer Spartans. None of this equal match bullshit in Halo 5.
I agree 8ft tall cheif is canon to me
Collin Whelen chief is 7.2 feet tall
True. But he kicks Lockes ass in halo 5 one time
Nightfall Arrow true but I just prefer to cheif to be godlike compared to spartans and regular humans alike it symbolizes his distance from all of them even more makes him cooler as well in my opinion
I believe the fight between Chief and Locke was motion captured instead of animation.

Halo 3? Halo 1? Halo 2?
I like how Chiefs height varies in different games. In the trailer for Halo infinite, he's a little taller than the Pelican pilot. In Halo 4, he started out being a couple of inches taller than Palmer and in the end, it looked like he gained a couple of feet in height. Maybe from the evolution process from the Librarian?

I love this more than anything, like a soldier returning home from war after seeing death and destruction, somewhat cold and distant because the carnage never really goes away... Chief carries the weight of the entire war on his shoulders, he doesn't get to have a life, for the sake of humanity... the ultimate sacrifice.

This guy above me is right. Halo 5 had a great lore tho but why Halo 5 campaign was a problem is cuz u have to buy the films and books to understand the story.
Yeah, you're right central. They couldn't finish the story thats why they had to do it with the books and the films etc

Get rekt palmer, chief is 2x larger than you
Palmer: "I thought you'd be taller." Chief: "And I thought you'd be hotter."
Brian Boardwell
I really hate how 343i decided to add her, she is a terrible character.
Ya know after Reach they disbanded the fucking spartan project 343 pisses me off
david woods
disbanded?
what the spartan II project being disbanded? or the spartan IIIs?
that1dude0092 I like that theyve added her. It makes John looks better as hes taller/stronger and not as cocky as her.
John was destined to be a leader from the start, But Palmer starts off lone wolfing it/arrogant (read the graphic novel)
david woods When?
Spartans II/III were folded into the Spartan IV program
"When the program was started, surviving members of previous Spartan generations were offered an opportunity to be integrated into it"
Alot of spartans died on reach But they werent wiped out/disbanded, its just a mystery how many are actually left.
Lol...you look at Palmer and think "Shit, shes tall" and then you look at chief and your like ".....How"
Wait until you see the didact
Alpha Leporis lol you are right!
Halo 4 is the best in my eyes. Still coming back after all these years to watch these beautiful cutscenes
Halo 4 was great
0:50 is my favourite moment for some reason. "I stand before you...."
Bad Ass Moment 😎😎
He looks quite depressed which is odd because at the start of halo4 i say and I quote "Spartans exhibit mildly sociopathic tendencies"
+Cable Conectgaming Cortana just sacrificed herself. It's understandable.
+Ramen117 Iagree
+Cable Conectgaming the spartans don't really relate to anyone other than other spartans, remember at this point John believes he is alone ( blue team his best friends aren't around ) cortana isn't with him either.
You know a villain is really awesome when he says loads of stuff that you find is worth quoting. Shame he only appeared in the game twice.
Read the Forerunner saga.
Been there, done that.
I've been looking for an excuse to say "In this hour of victory, we taste only defeat" for ages without sounding weird. I also need to say "You're blinded by your nobility", which he says in an earlier cut scene
Your nobility has blinded you? I'm a massive geek, I've committed both speeches to memory.
Tom Sproson Yeah, it *would* be great if he were even a villain in the first place, which the Didact is absolutely *NOT*. 343i absolutely *shit* all over canon to have him as a villain because the Didact is anything but. He's supposed to be essentially the Gandalf or the Yoda of Halo in terms of how much of a good guy he is and how incorruptible. No matter how you try to portray it the Didact just simply *does not* work as a villain at all and getting him to a point where he is requires all kinds of mangling of his characterization and ignoring pretty much all established canon regarding him. Heck, 343i even ignored their *own* canon that they'd been establishing in the Forerunner Saga, because if you read Silentium or look at the Didact in Halo 4, he's absolutely nothing like himself.
And what's more, while he does have all kinds of very good/quotable quotes in Halo 4, he's not even a very good villain. He's about as one-dimensional and cartoonish in terms of his goals as you can get. Even as one-dimensional as the Prophets in Halo 1-3 could be, they're far more complex and interesting villains than 343i's "Didact".
In this hour of victory. We taste only defeat. I ask why? We are Forerunners. Guardians of all that exist. The roots of the galaxy have grown deep under our careful tending. Where there is life. The wisdom of our countless generations has saturated the soil. Our strength is a luminous sun towards which all intelligence blossoms. And the impervious shelter beneath which it has prospered. I stand before you. Accused of the sin of insuring Forerunner accendincy. From attempting to save of from this fate were we are forced to...Recede. Humanity stands as the greatest threat in the galaxy. Refusing to eradicate them is a fools gambit! We squander eons in the darkness while they seize our triumphs for there own. The mantle of responsibility for all things belongs to Forerunners alone! Think of my acts as you will. But do not doubt the reality. The reclamation has already begun...... And we are hopeless to stop it

The roots of our society have grown deep under our careful tending; where there is life that matters. The wisdom of our countless generations has saturated the universities. From attempting to save us from this fate where we are forced to... recede. Fascists stand as the greatest threat in the world. Refusing to eradicate them is a fool's gambit! Omg did we watch the same video
HaloPlayer1337 that entire speech was fuckn epic
In my opinion Halo is the most amazing game series
Agreed
I agree
And Mass Effect
And crysis
Eh its more of a trilogy than a series
No Halo, No Xbox, No True Gamer
The way the spartan 4s look at John with pure awe sends chills down my spine.
Normal adult humans in high tech armour contrasted against a physically augmented indoctrinated child soldier that has been fighting for humanity since the beginning of the human covenant war. Like a cat looking up at a lion.
@i hate anime therefore are inferior...
Gvardiecky in armour 2’s and 4’s are about the same
@@donkeystew2432 they're not lmfao
@@wetpudding yes they are, spartan 2's have superior physicality out of armour, but 4's have higher tech and better armour, so they even out while equipped
@@donkeystew2432 Spartan IIs are given the same armor as Spartan IVs, just larger so it can fit them. I don't get why the UNSC would purposely limit the potential of the IIs.
The part when Chief walks past the Spartans and Palmer is simply amazing. The camera angle, music, everything is just perfect
So, did the Master Chief ever get the medal that Lord Hood was about to give him in halo 2 before the Covenant attacked?
Only medal chief hasn’t gotten is the POW medal
@@_Offensivebias_ if I were him I would get captured on purpose just to break out and get the medal
@@evanquinn6092
The 100% completionist route lol
@@_Offensivebias_ Well, he was captured by the Gravemind in Halo 2, along with Arbiter.
@@mattboy5296 correct but Chief has never been a prisoner of war
Sometimes I forget how weirdly huge the chief is, makes the other Spartans look like little tryhards
without armour he’s like 220 cm tall, I’m guessing that’s around 6’9-7’0? I don’t know for sure, but in armour he’s almost as tall as the Arbiter, and Elites are like 7’2, if I’m not mistaken.
To put it simply, he’s fucking huge.
Luis Castillo It’s amazing because sure there are basketball players that tall, but most of those dudes are pretty scrawny muscular wise. While the chief is 7 feet of just pure muscle and built like a tank. That’s why he looks so much bigger even if regular people can reach his height:
COBRA DARKNISS Yeah. He looks artificial, but that’s awesome, If you’re that tall you wouldn’t have broad looking shoulders like MC does. Btw. they made him taller in this cutscene, but I think that was the right choice.
This scene is fucking PEAK Halo
This is the coolest scene in Halo 4. But I will say this. You know when they were taking off Master Chief's suit every person on that floor was pulling out their iphones and getting those cameras ready. lol
Thats what i did! lol
How can other halo fans look at this amazing design of chief and say it looks bad and it’s not “him”? I understand they deviated a bit much here and there, but this is the second best armour only behind infinite. It has to be nostalgia
I actually have no problem with showing a part of his face, it's not to reveal his identity, but rather show that he's really getting old. It makes him more interesting than just a voice in the armor.
I love how much taller he is than every other Spartan, and tht when he goes to get his armor removed everyone stops what they're doing to check out the chief
1:25 "I thought you'd be taller."
epic speech, all the spartans just got own by the master chief.
best halo cutscene oat
How has halo fallen so far, Halo 4 had its issues but stood up on its own...Being the first Halo post bungie I was pleased and even hopeful about what was to come....And now look at halo.
A shell of what was.
RIP halo
Same. Didn't absolutely hate halo 5 either.
Gotta say though, we are the minority. The overall fanbase deserved a game exactly like halo infinite.
I just keep watching this over and over....
Mandalore the Hunter like 20 times tbh
Same
You're not the only one.
Same
It’s just really well done.
The character development of Master Chief and Cortana is amazing. Which one of them is, at the end, the machine?
After this 343 lost its touch and it’s really sad cause this was a great introduction to a new company taking on the series
Not gonna lie, this is still one of the most epic ending scenes in 2020. What else is left to look up to anyway.
"In this hour of victory, we taste only defeat. I ask why?"

For me this is the best representation of how he should look in the whole series. The way he towers over everyone else.
It's so badass watching all the Spartans gather around and stare.
This cutscene alone proves that 343 isn't afraid to get to the grittiness that Halo represents - as much as we all love Master Chief, he's suffered through his entire journey, especially since he seems to always be fighting. When he finally stops and rests, he's stressed the hell out. 343 had the right idea, but not the right execution. Still, most of the comments below seem to understand what the intention behind this cutscene was, so I'm happy for us Halo fans.
0:46 come on, am I the only one who taught they look like Republic pilots from Star Wars?
No you weren't :(.
Yeah their helmets look similar
You know master chief is op when he almost makes a spartan 4 fall of a treadmill without even looking at him
The didacts monologue is so good and the way chief, this war hero who is practically viewed as a god to humans and a demon to the covenant and has saved humanity on at least three separate occasions, comes walking into the room just towering over everybody in his older battle damaged armor is just perfection. He is a literal god amongst men in this scene.
the shot of the chick looking up at chief just completely blown away by him, even though she to is a spartan, goes to show what he is the MASTER CHIEF.
that chick is Commander Sarah (Sara (sp?)) Palmer.
0:52 me going home early from work knowing that there's nobody waiting for me...ever.
LOVE THIS ENDING, THE THEME SONG TO THIS IS PERFECTION!
Just looking at his size alone shows you how badass he was to singlehandedly stand up to the Flood.
"All hail the conquering hero..."
Afro Samurai the one who was supposed to save us all
Mohammad Jass But now i'm going to save us...from you
Is this what youve wanted?
"Is this what you're looking for?"
Lmao only if you knew
its like you grow with the series since halo now halo 5 is coming, such a bomb series. the books are also good as hell
I agree.
Everyone commenting about the visuals onscreen, and Im here just like;
You know you are badass when the game ends with the main villain talking about how much of threat humanity is, because of *you.*
I think he's talking about the humans from the human-forerunner war
@@acua3
He isn’t, He’s talking about Modern Humanity, how they have now regained control of the galaxy’s Orion Arm, with no forerunner to stop them. The stealing of the mantle of responsibility, the takings of Forerunner technology. And the last line ‘we are hopeless to stop it’, indicating that the Forerunner’s era is over, and although they want to, it is too late to do anything.
Man....I wish 343 kept the Didact around longer. He just seemed like the perfect template for a recurring villain in the reclaimer saga. And the way he talks is just so elegant yet intimidating. With a little more development, he could’ve been a worthy step up from the likes of the Gravemind and the Prophet of Truth.
Any other og halo fan who also really liked this armor?
me, i liked every master chief armor starting with 3 first, 4 second and CE 3rd
He looked like a walking tank.
Kinda sucks "new" artstyle made chief back into something more nolstagic. Mk7 wouldve been a great new look for the chief
i love where 343 is taking halo there puting much more lore story and more writing into into halo and i say this because i love games like elder scrolls Warhammer 440k and fallout. i simply love games much as much lore as possible
HELL YEAH!
jongmagee HELL YEAH
Raved s HELL YEAH
yup
Play dark souls it has beautiful lore
1:42 "Hey hey hey, easy with the $7 billion suit of armor!"
I think the point of having armor that costs $7 billion is that it won’t break or shatter by falling on the floor, lol
Tell that to the Covenant
probably one of the greatest endings in the Halo franchise ever. I don't why this game got crap but I actually enjoyed it.
0:35 Why is nobody talking about the pelican crew armor here it looks so good! Reminds me of the objective force warrior project studies from the early 2000s.
how much would that armour stink after not getting out of it or having bathroom breaks since the fall of reach?
Haha like years
Sorry to say that , but here are you a little bit incorrect. In Halo 2 , the Master Chief got a new Armour ( Mark VI ) ,but still good question.
oh yeah...
Yeah...... still tho
i would not want to be the guys taking off the armour... GET OUT OF THE BLAST RADIUS!
Bad ass part when everyone stops what they're doing as Master Chief walks into the room.
"Thought you'd be taller."
Chief: *fixes his posture
Even them Spartan IV’s are in awe when they are THE SPARTAN.
Anyone else notice that when he walks by the chick in this he is noticeably taller then she is compared to when they were standing next to each other earlier in the game and she made the comment that she thought he would be taller?
RogunK I know it's to late to say this but in campaign aka gameplay they dnt use exact measurements on therr height but in reality such as in the books and all tat good information master cheif is 7ft tall while Palmer is 6ft8 or 7 inches so it seems tat in gameplay they are lazy to create the actual size cutscene was on point perfect.
Richard M. Dna thingy didn’t modify his height... it was the augmentation and armor.
Ya know when he's walking and almost everyone watches him it seems like they are watching a god or a hero or even a father. It has that kind of poetry about it.
Halo 4: sets up the Didact and Forerunners, previously known only through legends and artifacts of unfathomable scale, as the new and terrifying enemies of this trilogy; introduces complexity into the John-Cortana dynamic; finally gives Cortana a dignified and emotional send-off, hints at possible character development for John who is revealed to be both the final stage of human evolution while ironically beginning to grapple with his humanity for the first time
Halo 5: just kidding, Cortana survived due to Old Space Magic (TM) and is the real supervillain, John spends the game stalking her obsessively and going "Cortana no..."; you don't even play as John, the literal icon of the Halo series, half the time, instead here's a random power ranger; also remember the AIs whose companionship, personalities and unique bonds with human characters made the games much of what they were? Yea, Cortana radicalized them all. Oh and Didact who?
I still hold hope for Halo 5 to retconned for a more focused story that stays faithful on what Halo 4 ended on.
Perfectly summarises everyone's gripes with 5.
Just for reference, this is how tall Jorge from Reach was. Both in game and lore wise.
