    Today, Ryan explains the importance of an air intake snorkel as a part of your Jeep Wrangler's off road build. Then, he showcases several of the most popular snorkel intakes on the market and weighs in on the performance of each. Ryan then demonstrates the function of the snorkel by testing the performance of the Wrangler while submerged.

      Snorkel will save your ENGINE from hydro-lock, but if you submerge a JK/JKU you'll be very very sorry. The electronics (and there are LOTS of them) are going to give you a ton of intermittent "odd" problems as wiring harnesses dry out and corrode, cables rusts, vent tubes (diffs & trans) flood and let water into oils, relays and electric motors (fan & HVAC) rust).... You'll never submerge a JK without a ton of side-effects.

    GOT RUST? Driving your vehicle under water will greatly shorten its life. ALL air inlets need a snorkel, not just the combustion air. Here is short list of components that can not get wet: electronics, all fluid vents, all wiring, transmission vents, and any other vents. A snorkel gives you a false sense that its safe to submerge your entire vehicle.

    • @JBidensucks
      @JBidensucks Před 4 lety +1

      tell me about it I build severe condition offroad vehicles for military and government use. ppl adding a engine intake znorkle to there jeep or whatever is such a fucking joke and waste of money. short list of components always overlooked by these type of yuppy offroaders when it comes to severe use builds. alternator water damage, spark ignition water damage, battery damage unless it's a truly sealed battery like Optima, electric engine cooling fan, radiator damage if not running a mechanical fan tnat can be fully disengaged, power steering system contamination, obviously trans and diff vents, brake system contamination, fuel tank evap system contamination is extremely problematic since almost all OEM vehicles have them low mounted or in a fender. the list goes on. a factory jL is good for 30 inch of depth. your snorkel can be 10 foot tall, your still only able to do 30 " or damage WILL OCCUR
