You gave me all the information that I want to know about this air rifle and you used my favorite pellets also!! Excellent video, you just earned a sub.👍😎👍
I have both the swarm maxxim and the swarm magnum. Depending on what pellet you run you can get about 19 fpe from the maxim and 31fpe from the magnum. As far as scopes go I have blown through about 10 different scopes with the magnum. This includes Athlon, Luepold, Vortex, SWFA, and Discovery scopes. So I decided to invest in 2 of those zero recoil mounts and BINGO!!! No more blown out scopes. Only took me a year to find out lol. Anyways, good review on one of my favorite bb air rifles.
Thank you for a good review on the Swarm Magnum. You are the first person to review it that actually shot accurately with it. Some reviewers I think don't know how to zero it or shoot it.
The pellet that I am using for the Gamo Swarm Magnum is H&N FTT 14.66gr....head size 5.55mm of which I have no problems loading a pellet into the mag....I replaced the 6mm screw of the second stage with a 8mm screw that I screwed in all the way...I now have a much shorter second stage pull....This is a very powerful rifle
I've had this gun for 5 months. I upgraded the scope to a Hammers - Air Gun Rifle Scope 3-9x40AO Magnum. Since then my shots have been at a consistent dead center at 25 yards. My backyard is only so big, so that's where I have it sighted. That's using Crosman Premier .22 cal Domed Ultra Magnum 14.3 gr. pellets. I also have heavier grained Gamo pellets that perform just as well at the same distance. Note: I took a robin on the very top branch of a tree at 98.7 yds. (I used my range finder). Thought I missed it until it dropped. I qualified Expert in the army with an M16-A1 with open sights, but that was 33 years ago. My eyesight isn't nearly as good as it once was (I wear glasses now). This gun is just that good. It has a LOT of power for a break barrel, and doesn't break the bank. It does take about 200 shots for the 60 lb pull to settle down. At first I didn't think I'd be able to cock it. Once it breaks in, it's awesome.
1:16 You said it was a non-adjustable objective, but I have the same gamo and can adjust mine. It's on the opposite side and have to unscrew the stopper before adjusting it, then you screw the stopper back in and boom!

I might purchase a suppressor and put it on I can't see putting another baffle that is cheap looking not much to it
That can happen, the pellets were hitting the plastic baffle. Remember Gamo has a 5 year warranty on that model. Not sure if they can send you a new piece or they may want the rifle. I would call Gamo.

That is strange...the 14.66 go in real easy in my magazines. I did have some issues when I first got the gun with the magazines in that there was not enough spring tension on them. I very carefully removed the small Phillips screw and put a couple of more turns on the spring. They have been flawless ever since. But I did not have an issue with the FTT 14.66 seating. My Maxim loves the Benjamin Destroyers .22 but I need a pellet seater with those...
@@zome53 These are the Dome H&N Field Target Trophy 14.66 gr 5.53 per my Digital Caliper. I tried several cans they are all the same. I purchased these over a year ago. Are your pellets newer? Maybe a different lot?
I get a little better muzzle velocity out of the old version prior to the swarm and the suppressor. I think both of those decrease output slightly. I have got better then 1600 fps with the .177 model shooting Red Rockets on the original Magnum.
I really think it depends on the specific rifle and how smooth the air chamber is as well as the piston seal. I have tuned several and seen an increase in velocity on most. It sounds like you got a good one!👍
I really appreciate your multiple tests regarding this gun. Maybe add a dB test as well. Anyway, I was wondering if you could make any recommendation(s) on multi shot break barrel .22s other than this guy. I'd primarily be hunting with it, and I also value a gun that is NOT hold sensitive. Right now, this guy is at the top of the list, but I'm open to suggestions. Thanks again, just subbed!
Great review, thank you! Sorry for the question-the difference between a shrouded and unshrouded barrel is? I do not have anyone local that carries these so I will have to know what to order.
Technique is key. You get used to it and it feels like nothing. Don't use the scope without that Diana mount. You'll be lucky of you get through two cans of pellets before the scope is completely trashed.
Great review. I suspect by adding a heavier scope and areas where weight can be added (be creative) the groupings "should tighten up...Personally I only have a Gamo Accu. 22 and it is the most accurate springer I own. I have many "vintage Beemans" R1s, R10s, R9s break barrels and still even with the great Rekord trigger, I still am unable to consistantly get an honest hole in one 5 shot groups out to 35 yards which I can with the Accu .22. I can only imagine if it had a Rekord or AirArms trigger in it..While not to highjack your post on my opinions on fpe. My Accu .22 sits by door my door as a go to gun. And I have such high confidence in knowing where my mildots are set. All normal airgun game is in danger out to 60 yards away. And my 18-30fpe airguns mainly stay in the safe. I turned down my "vintage" Beeman Crow magnum to around 15fpe, which initially came fully pressurized at around 30fpe. The Theoben H.E. air piston was great, you could turn down the air piston (which came maxed out per Beeman standards) but could easily be tuned down to mitigate hold sensitivity and then able to apply bar pressure with the little hand held pump it came with. I never did need to add more air...Would be nice if newer air pistons made it simple to de-tune or add air, without taking stock off. It definitely can be done. It seems at least with mechanical and air/gas pistons the one's shooting around 14-16fpe at the muzzle offer plenty of power for airgun game, so long as you can judge ranges and have a good mildotted scope. If it was easier to market accuracy, then fpe that would be a good thing. The company's seem to be marketing to the first time buyers, we are on to their over inflated rates, less forgiving hold due to the science of recoil? Old timers know the physics that are involved in achieving high fps, and know the negative side effects, so market to us!! I can shoot good groups with my "kickers" but everything needs to line up perfectly to get off that perfect hold, especially in hunting situations. Make some more 14-16fpe breakers/underlevers! The "chart" that says how much fpe is required to humanely take an animal, really doesn't mean much. I have defied it many times. What is required is confidence in what you are shooting, will hit where your aiming.....
I couldn't agree more. You can have all the FPE in the world but if you are not accurate with the gun it means nothing. I appreciate you watching and thanks for the comments. I have an ACCU in .22 as well. I added my trigger screw and even a second screw in the SAT trigger to adjust the first stage. I even have a gas piston kit for it but I just haven't had the time to install it.
If it is not up to par send it back as "defective!" do not compromise since there is so many good options out there today 😉👍 If you keep it you need to upgrade the trigger airgundetectives.com/product/m2-5-45-x-10mm-adjustment-screw-for-the-gamo-c-a-t-and-s-a-t-triggers/
Hey great videos I'm new to air guns and I just bought my firs gamo swarm magnum gen 2 thanks to your videos I really appreciate it. I got 2 questions what scope do you recommend? And what non-lead pellet do you recommend also I'm pretty good with my rifle but I want a better scope for turkey hunting (I eat everything I kill)
Hi Will...the Benjamin Destroyer pellets work the best in my maxim. I will demonstrate that when I review that model. Strange enough, I have some identical airguns that like different pellets. Each gun can be very pellet picky. Thanks for watching!
Great video with lots of information about this gun so it will be my next one to buy, as for the recoil reducing mounts yes i bought one too. I dont know but it works well for me but is it worth 60 bucks i dont know. I found one at half the price same design but it came to me all wanky crooked but i got it fixed up i had to loosen the rail screws and kinda twist it back to level so its good now it seems to be the same mount but without the branding name on it but anyway i like it.
Very nice gamo, I had the first model, it’s fun to shoot but I give away, that’s was my first air rifle I brought... but I’m all acuracy .. lol... I move up to and brought HW 97... it’s a blast.. as distance 20 yds... I literally punch 10 shots in a dime.. all the time... but yes it’s a lot more $$ compare to gamo...
Not bad at all kinda like that rifle. I use my rifles as hunters. Power and accuracy are #1. That rifle showed both. 👍👍 and that's coming from a pre charged rifle guy.
It's a good platform looks like. I just wish they make a Wood stock that way it will help balance out the power output. Yea yea it light but let's consider this, I would deal with a little weight to give me better accuracy than too light whereas it almost impossible to hit smaller object let alone make more precise shots free handed . I think would serve me better and make more effective kill shots. I've got a couple videos of my own about a conversation that turned out surprisingly good. And of course an original Gamo Swarm Maxim that's pretty good. Not quite the output I want but it's pretty good
I have about 1500 rounds through the mount so far and it is holding at zero. I purchased a couple of after market, picatinny non-branded similar type, and they didn't last 100 rounds. I have four of the ZR mounts and I have not had an issue yet. If something changes I will bring it up in a future video.
Hi , im from italy and congrats for your videos , very nice. Please can i ask you what is the transfer port size in millimeters for this gun ? Thanks tuo very much
trying to decide between this, the fusion gen 2, and maxxim. First air rifle for me and only intend to use for target practice up to 100 yards max. Your advice is appreciated. Thanks for the great video!
I have the most fun, especially for plinking and target practice with the Maxxim Swarm, if you like a magazine. They are really east to cock 27-30 lbs. They shoot realistically 700 fps with a 14.0 gr pellet. The .177 are good with a heavy pellets but it's much more practical to go with the .22 caliber. I will be releasing a video on the Bone Collector Swarm soon. Basically the key for ultimate accuracy on the Gamos is the upgraded trigger screw and bipods.👍
My ruger air magnum will run with that but its so heavy. like you say hunting only. We shot in garage sunday night my grandson must have shot 250 rds magnum. My box says 1000 FPS I started it on the 22 gr meisterkugens or whatever. Just guessing Id say was throwing those 22s about 725 I like what you said about dont shoot anything unless your gonna eat it. Except snakes I use shotgun if posum comes up. we live in country and no its now what its cracked up to be. Bought my ruger air magnum thru amazon took 3 before I got good one. All 3 were blistering past sound barrier. Shooting about 300 ft Your videos come on like Terminator 2 !!!!!!!
Nah. They are ok, but too expensive for that level of quality. I've put tons of pellets through mine trying to find the right ones. I can't get JSBs much here, but I've tried most stuff available in many different weights. H&N FTTs are the best, good results with Norica Hammers and other generic rebranded H&N pellets too. It likes 14 to 16 grains. It absolutely hates 18 or 21 grain pellets, they shoot high and look like a shotgun pattern with mine. 18 grain are not as bad I had ok result with some crappy 18 grain BSA pellets in spite of inconsistent pellet sizing, but in general I've narrowed it to 3 pellets that I can absolutely rely on and are easily available. These are H&N FTTs, H&N Hornets and my favourite, H&N terminators. Great thing is I dont have to re zero for any of these three because they basically hit in the same place. Stay away from H&N Barracuda 21 grains in this gun, it HATES them. They're a great pellet in other guns especially in powerful 177s. If you want cheap pellets that this thing loves, look for those pointed pellets with the grooves on the skirts that are made by H&N but get sold under other companies brand. They are all the same, they usually don't list pellet weight, but are 14 grain and superbly consistent like all H&N pellets. My Gamo magnum loves them.
Also you don't want 1100 fps. 900 is about the maximum velocity you want to see in a diabolo pellet before accuracy suffers. These manufacturers are very dishonest, Gamo claims are especially ridiculous. 1350 fps? Nobody who actually knows airguns thinks that's desirable, if your gun actually gets that you need a heavier pellet. Also Gamo Rockets are standard 14 grain lead but with a metal tip. They likely get about 900 fps.
I see you have another great video I am on the same level that you are on I prefer break barrel I have a hatsan 125 sniper vortex gas piston in 22 cal and I luv it but I wanna interested in another break barrel I was looking into getting another hatsan 125 but have my eyes on this as well which one you go with out of these two gun gor hunting purposes only and again great video
Hatsan makes some great guns. I have at least 15 of them if not more. I will be doing a review of all three calibers in the 125 sniper models. Thanks for watching !👍
Nice review, thanks for the information. I just got into break barrel airguns, and i heard you say never pull the trigger without a pellet in the barrel. I did not know that, and have cleaned the barrel two or three times and dry fired it. Could I have damaged the gun??
That is a general rule and it should not hurt the rifle if it unintentionally happen a few times. Gamo claims there rifles can be dry fired. The reason it could do damage is break barrels use a piston to create air pressure in the chamber. When the rifle is cock the piston is pushed backwards toward the trigger and catches on the sear. The spring or gas piston is fully compressed. Once you pull the trigger the sear is released and the piston is violently thrown forward into the air chamber which creates the high pressure. The pressure builds within a fraction of a second and forces the pellet out of the barrel. If you dry fire the rifle there is no pellet to create that back pressure and the piston impacts much harder into the front of the air chamber. That all being said I had a Gamo 220 hunter, spring piston and I dry fired that many times with no issues. I just wouldn't make a habit out of it because it could do some potential harm or cause the piston seal to wear out prematurely. Thanks for watching!

i have 2 gamo rifles, both 22, the original magnum and the swarm maxxim, i have the hatsan carnivore 30 cal and a weihrauch hw50s in 22,, my next rifle will be the weihrauch 95l in 22
A other guy did a review and shot at two inch targets 100 yards away and hit with the stock scope.
Great video thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching, we'll have a new review released every Friday!
@@AirgunDetectives great thank you I just stumbled upon your channel and want to say it is great.
I tried H&N FTT 14.66gr,
the pellet would go in
but I had to push it down with a pencil for the mag to rotate
, Air Arms 16gr I have no problems...
My Maxim loves the Benjamin Destroyers .22 but I need a pellet seater with those...
what head size of the H&N FTT 14.66gr
@@zome53 These are the Dome H&N Field Target Trophy 14.66 gr 5.53 per my Digital Caliper. I tried several cans they are all the same. I purchased these over a year ago. Are your pellets newer? Maybe a different lot?
Yes the H&N FTT 5.53mm
are new
Ahhhh you mean i can't shoot rats😱😂😂😂😂
What do you mean, you don't eat rats Chinese delicacy
You got better out of the 22 cal gamo magnum jungle then the 22 cal gamo swarm magnum
Very similar....Spring piston in the Jungle 😉👍🏻
Awesome job thanks
Thank you for watching and we appreciate you subscribing😊👍
Outstanding...
Thank you for watching!!
My Swarm Magnum punches holes in those green propane tanks using Gamo rocket pellets ..
Dope
I get a little better muzzle velocity out of the old version prior to the swarm and the suppressor. I think both of those decrease output slightly. I have got better then 1600 fps with the .177 model shooting Red Rockets on the original Magnum.
I really think it depends on the specific rifle and how smooth the air chamber is as well as the piston seal. I have tuned several and seen an increase in velocity on most. It sounds like you got a good one!👍
I would keep the Gamo at 3 pound trigger and I only would get the rifle with the open sites and .22 cal
The Muzzle break or "Silencer" looking object is at the end of the barrel. It does quiet the rifle and makes a great handle for cocking the rifle.
What scope do use on the 22 magnum, .want to by the trigger upgrade. Aug.7 2023
I put my scope on today but hate the cocking effort and it doesnt seem to be going down. Buyers remorse times 5000
Technique is key. You get used to it and it feels like nothing.
Don't use the scope without that Diana mount. You'll be lucky of you get through two cans of pellets before the scope is completely trashed.
Well John I bought one online basspro. Cud have got 177 but got 22. I have 2 177 clips for gen 2 magnum. But from gamo $17.40
Sir,
Out of all the Gamo rifles, which one is your favorite?
Glad to know this is a decent rifle, I just bought one online paid $300 for it so I’m hoping it wasn’t a waste lol
Iv noticed there is air rifle Specific scopes that don’t fail .
Try the crossmam diamond back. Would love to see the review.
Subscribed 🔥🙌
I use the crosman gold tip pellet.
I have found that the Bulls Eye ZR mount is about as repeatable as a broken scope.
You make it look easier than 50lbs How is it vs Hatsan 125 22 cal. About the same.
What is the best and most accurate airgun to buy for hunting birds at long distances?
I love were the safety at on the gamo
Best advice dontshoot anything unless you gonna eat it.. did you modify tje diana recoil? Or is it out of the box. Thank you
Crosman hollowpoint 14.3gr premiers work great for both swarms.
Hi Will...the Benjamin Destroyer pellets work the best in my maxim. I will demonstrate that when I review that model. Strange enough, I have some identical airguns that like different pellets. Each gun can be very pellet picky. Thanks for watching!
How much price of air gun of a gamo air gun?
Do you use any kind of lube for the bullseye zr mount.
Do you have a link to the scope and rail you are using? Looking to upgrade my scope.. Thanks for the great reviews.
Here is the mount amzn.to/3ml5mUw
and this is the scope amzn.to/37jLm0x
👍😉
@@AirgunDetectives Thank You Sir!
HW and the Beeman are amazing rifles. Check out my newest review on the R9 if you haven't already 👍
Not bad at all kinda like that rifle. I use my rifles as hunters. Power and accuracy are #1. That rifle showed both. 👍👍 and that's coming from a pre charged rifle guy.
Yes....and the multi-shot magazine makes it even better for hunting. Thanks for the comments and I appreciate you watching 👍
Not quite the output I want but it's pretty good
Thanks for watching!
I hear horrible things about that mount you are using. How many rounds do you have through the rifle with that on?
I have about 1500 rounds through the mount so far and it is holding at zero. I purchased a couple of after market, picatinny non-branded similar type, and they didn't last 100 rounds. I have four of the ZR mounts and I have not had an issue yet. If something changes I will bring it up in a future video.
Correction don't shoot unless circumstances necessitate, food, pest control and/or defense/protection.
i like h&n pellets, i use the 12.35 grain alloy in my weihrauch hw50s 22cal
Is it good on game, with the allow pellet?
Hi , im from italy and congrats for your videos , very nice.
Please can i ask you what is the transfer port size in millimeters for this gun ? Thanks tuo very much
Good review, very detailed and informative. Just 👍 and subbed. Would like to see a comparison of the maxxim if you get your hands on one.
I actually have a Maxxim Swarm and that review will be coming soon...
trying to decide between this, the fusion gen 2, and maxxim.
So you’d advise maxxim over the fusion? Definitely going with .22 either way
@@gracenick9788 same velocity either way. It depends of you want to shoot open sights. You can only use a scope with the Maxxim.
Good point, going with Fusion then, thanks!
I hear the gammo rocket pellets are really what that gun craves. Like 1100 fps with those.
I really like them for my .177 break barrel gun, but gammo has a problem with the skirts being dented by the time we get them.
They likely get about 900 fps.
do you start shooting straight out of the box? or clean barrel etc
Great review! Not so great rifle..
Plastic parts galore. Not for me thanks but appreciate the valuable and well presented info.
I appreciate you watching 👍
hello, what is the difference between
Gamo Reply 10x Magnum .22 gen2 and
Gamo Swarm 10x Magnum .22 gen2
do you review pistols much? just subbed and thumbs - up, be strong, be safe, and be blessed
Hi Russ, yes I try to do a pistol review every couple of weeks. As summer approaches I'll do a lot of Co2 pistols. Thanks for watching, stay Healthy!👍
How about the GAMO .22 GEN2 vs the HATSAN 125 SNIPER .22. Which is the most powerful?? Thanks
I would like to know about of the Swarm Magnum and the Hatsan 125 + 22 which one of the two is better than you think
JF point Blank good question
If you get shots off faster technically the swarm is more power ful
Can a Donnty FL suppressor be mounted without too much hassle?
Liked and Subscribed. 👍
Cheers 🙏
