- Hey guys. I've had an interesting journey with AC3, going from disliking it on my first playthrough to loving it almost as much as ACU after my second. Like Unity, this game has a lot of idiosyncrasies that it doesn't explain to you, but the good thing is that, unlike Unity, AC3 actually follows its own rules, making it a much more consistent game overall. A lot of people say that they don't enjoy the stealth in this game, so I'm going to be making a few videos covering some stealth missions in this game to show off what is possible with the tools that the game gives you. As always, thanks for watching.
On my first time doing this mission I got spotted pretty quickly and it just turned into me fighting the entire army. It honestly felt like the scene from the trailer except less badass.

Seriously, though, this mission is actually much easier if you don’t kill anyone other than Pitcairn.

This one can be frustrating at first, but it’s actually really fun once things start coming together. I actually went into this task not knowing if it would be possible to make this video, so I’m glad I was able to figure it out. Glad you enjoyed the video :)

No problem! Something you need to know is that if you’re playing the remaster, you can only properly lock onto enemies when you’re not moving, so your general smoke-throwing process should be :
1. Stop moving
2. Wait for a white outline to appear around the desired enemy
3. Hold free aim and ensure that the camera zooms in on the enemy in question. If they’re moving, the camera should follow them by default
4. Press the tool button
Does this work in AC black flag?
Nicole Song no, Black Flag added proper free aiming and removed lock-on, so it does not have throwable smoke bombs.
Getting 100% sync in this mission is a pain. No matter how many times I complete all optional objectives, I keep getting a red x. It’s always the crossing the battlefield without damage too, but it marks complete in game.

Wish AC3 had more stealth missions even if the stealth is kinda jank, it's fun ounce you get a feel for how it works
Hard relate. Nailing a smooth stealth run in AC3 just feels satisfying in a way that no other AC game can manage, down to even extremely minute things like how it feels to assassinate someone and how it feels to move as Connor. Sucks that it had to be so jank, lol
@@jcers I feel ya there, the only AC games that rival the best moments of AC3 stealth for me are Unity and 1, I'd say it probably has better assassination animations then Unity, there less flashy but they look cool and feel seamless, also gotta thank you and kinography for making these stealth reaper videos, I used them to help teach myself this game's obtuse stealth mechanics
I love this mission but I don't know how to get the approach over the battlefield down, I always thought you had to wait for the bullets to ricochet of the rock before moving and that seems to work pretty well, but then you have no real way to tell when you reach the final cover, where that doesn't happen. Is it a timing thing?
Listen for the patriots to yell something like “Get Down!” or “Incoming!”, wait a second or two after, then book it for the trees.

@@Alpha545 or you can look at the firing army and as soon as all the shots fire wait like a second after it’s done and run
@@-MSR- I'll give that a go too when I get the chance, though I feel as though I had already tried that. It's been a long time :)
Here's how I did it.
When you're behind that tree trunk, that is the last cover - turn around and look at the stone, behind which you were hiding earlier. When bullets hit that stone, you can run for the forest.
You know those quick killstreak setups that Maceonik AC does in his Black Flag Freedom Cry videos. Can you do those.
I looked at one of the videos you’re talking about, and I actually have no idea how he does those, lol. I’ll have to do some more research, though, because they look really cool.
@@jcers He always did a break defense as the first move then instant kill. Or killed one guy on the floor to get a double tool kill. Im not sure either. I really like AC3's kill animations over Black Flag/Rogue's because every kill is super speedy.
Brandon Y yea, I saw the defence break, but I’m not sure how he then manages to trigger a kill animation on another enemy. I’ll do some testing. And yea, AC3 combat over BF/Rogue any day. Not even just better animations, but more options in general (weapons, tools).
@@jcers Tools like pistols/throwing knifes can continue killstreaks or start them. Go with that in testing.
Brandon Y yea, that’s something I was fortunate enough to stumble onto pretty early on in BF. I’ll keep that in mind.

4:54 how do you throw the smoke bomb? You hold PRECISION MODE and what did you press?
Enter precision mode, highlight the enemy with your reticle (reticle should be an opaque white), and press the tool button. In the remaster, you will need to be stationary as Connor cannot properly lock onto enemies while moving thanks to the horrible new free aiming system they added.
I know how to do it better, with all the optional targets achevied
