    I'm from Thailand, never known that there are many Thais living in the Faroe island. Actually, the first time I ever heard of the island was yesterday. I don't think the island would be taken over by us(South east asians) or something. They just fall in love with each other, that's all. She seems nice and integrated very well into the whole new environment.
    Faroe island is such a beautiful country, and I would like to visit once in a life time. Thank you for the great documentary.

      There's not a lack of men; there's a lack of men who are willing to put the time and effort into making a relationship work. They're hard working, but have never been taught how to act around women. They are very quiet and laid back, which won't win over any women.
      A lot of them just want a woman who will treat them the same way their mother treated them, ie. coock food, wash their clothes etc, so not at all romantic!

    • @drdal
      @drdal Před 3 lety

      @@HeriEystberg The main problem in Faroes is because there is a big shortage of native women because they move to other countries like Denmark and Norway.
      The shortage of local women in outlying places in Scandinavia is actually a tragedy. And it is actually not easy to bring home a southeast asian wife and hops she will love you as you am.. And why are you so negative about hardworking scandinavian men? My asian wife love me for that, but I was perhaps lucky? Because I am shy against women.

  • @filsbeni9047
    @filsbeni9047 Před 3 lety

    I guess,, the reason why western mainstream media makes this an issue is because of pride. That racist mentality, you know.
    You don't hear stories about Faroese men marrying westerners. But you do when it's a Filipina. Why is that?
    The question here I guess should be; why Filipinos? It's quite normal for any country to "import" partners whenever it becomes necessary.
    But Faroese men choosing mostly Filipinas....
    There must be a very good reason for that.
    Maybe the same reason why almost a quarter of the world's nurses and seafarers are Filipinos?
    Much like fruits, you don't import rotten apples or oranges. You always choose the best quality and longer lasting.
    And that, I guess, is what other people can't accept.
    Yeah, I see this as a racism issue, and Faroese men who have real pure good intentions are now being put into situations they don't deserve. Simply because some people chooses to become ignoramus instead of geniuses.

  • @AxelMattias
    @AxelMattias Před 5 lety +3

    This is actually a good thing. I've realized that the more homogeneus the country is, the more racist/disrespectful the people are about other people and we shouldn't really blame them. Cause when people see some other race coming to their country, of course their gonna be careful, cause they dont want them to dominate the island or whatever. There's a reason why we have a prejudice mind about different things.

Better than the first one I watched, I think it's the al Jazeera one, the woman saying that Asian's (particularly Filipinos) coming from afar go to that place to find something they yearned for. Finding love they (Asians going to Faroe) have to take risk. She exaggerated the documentary too much.

      So claim the Faroese to be native makes little sense. They are among the best educated societies, well travelled and not other country in the world, except Philippines, has as high percentage of its population working abroad.
