For those of you who watch this video and are making an insulting comment about Oakland…..I’ve lived in East Oakland (the area with the reputation of being the most “dangerous” part of the city) all of my life and I have NEVER been a victim of a crime. No one in my family has ever been a victim of a crime. If you come here and become a victim, then it’s your fault because you didn’t act right. Don’t be stupid and tempt people. Take responsibility for yourself. If you act stupid I’d probably rob your @$$ too. Don’t take your fancy technology out and walk around with it. Don’t open your wallet in public. Don’t leave any items in your car that can be seen. When you hear someone’s footstep walking behind you, stop, let the person pass you, and make sure you look at his face and nod so he absolutely knows you can describe him later. If someone is walking toward you, don’t avert your eyes. Smile and nod. Just acknowledge him. Mind your own damn business. Act like you got some thug in you. Walk like you can’t be messed with. These rules apply to every city from Atlanta, GA to Zionsville, IN. Oakland is no different. At least our water is drinkable and we’re not a bunch of toothless idiots who vote for Trump. Those are the people you need to worry about because they have assault weapons with large capacity magazines and they hate Californians. I’d rather walk around Oakland, Detroit, or Chicago than walk around the district Marjorie Taylor Green represents.

I used to like Take It Easy Thai, Mua, even Red Onion and Nations (El Cerrito), and Pican was just catching its stride... don't know if any of these still exist but these were my spots (and Happy Burrito; Spats and Giovanni's on Shattuck). I can't remember any place in SF that I loved except a regular Thai place I went to near Powell- I think and Fringale which has closed).
Im from sac, we drive out there to get our plants for the growing season and go to the beach! And we are always looking for a great spot to eat hopefully I see chef green out there next time we go
