I knew that there often is hair within a pilonidal cyst but I didn’t know the medical term of pilonidal meant a nest of hairs. Thank you.

    • @antoineduchamp4931

Another guy that had it on here had to have surgery to cut out a large infected area of his butt they said the hair turns inwards becoming essentially a ingrown hair that keeps growing and growing and growing another person said it had grown into their disc and needed to have it removed and that the hair can even grow in further into your organs in worst case situations. So it doesn't just mean nest of hair it actually is a nest of hair and that's why it itches

when sleeping, use a hard surface if you have forward bend coccyx. Then when seating, always use a custom coccyx cushion or 2"foam. Then try to walk 5minutes at least everyday but don't run. This will help to reduce the pain within 1 month.

I was born with a pilonidal cyst that never bothered me until I fell off an office chair and landed right on it on one of the legs that stick off the chair. Thank goodness my boss made me file an accident report because about three month later it got terribly infected. I had to have surgery that nearly killed me as I had a bad reaction to the anesthesia. They had to take a lot of tissue, so I have a big dent in the area above my tailbone. But it’s been about 45 years since, and no further problems.

They treated me for that and even recommended I do physical therapy. Then I noticed that it was a cyst after feeling my tailbone region and then went back to the urgent care. They were able to drain the cyst. They gave me antibiotics and after taking that and a hot bath, I feel almost 100% and can sit and walk easily now. In addition, I have a pilonidal cyst that I am treating at home and it spontaneously drained. Is it possible the two issues are related at all? I have seen numerous consultants and got nowhere. Last year I had the internal manipulation for my coccyx under anaesthetic and injections but that aggravated things. My doctor suggested that I try a different consultant to see if he can help to which he has offered pretty much the same treatment as what the previous consultant did last year so I cant really see how it will work this time. The only good thing that I can say is that he said he is going to take a look while im sedated to see whats happening with the coccyx which is more than what any other health care professional has offered to do. I dont mean to be negative but I doubt I will get any further than the manipulation and injection with this consultant either. I was also quite annoyed how I was pretty much asked to leave the room after 10 minutes with the consultant. He gave me no time to explain how I lost my mobility completely 3 years ago and how I literally felt my coccyx crunch along with my discs. Im scheduled to have the procedure done this Thursday but if he wont help me any further if the treatment isn't a success I have since found a consultant that has helped so many people with coccydynia. Many have had a full investigation and have had their coccyx removed. They have all said that after the wound had healed after the surgery that after a short time that they have improved 98 per cent and some have said that they are now pain free. After Thursday's treatment if i dont feel any benefit I shall be arranging an appointment with this other consultant because I want my life back. A few people I know have also had their coccyx removed and they too are doing just fine. They have all returned back to the gym, they can now ride their bikes and they can walk for long distances and they can also sit with ease. I would have made an appointment with their consultant but hes now retired but all is not lost because I now have another consultant that I can contact. I refuse to give up because it just proves that by having your coccyx removed it can be so beneficial. I know that it doesn't work for everyone but when youre in excruciating pain and it affects your mobility so much that you are willing to try anything.

When I went back to school after midterm I had rlly bad back pain so I blamed it on the chairs but then it swelled up I couldn’t sit down and I would have a sick feeling in my stomach and feel very faint at night form the thought of the pain it rlly wasn’t fun. I ended up goin doctors because it popped and the stuff that comes out of it has a rlly rlly bad smell so I knew there was something rlly wrong and the doctors sent me straight up to a and e and was out in for surgery the next day. For something so small it rlly is a pain in the ass. I was going nurse appointments everyday for two weeks then got out on a pump that drained the 4cm hole that’s left after it cus they don’t close it up it heals from the bottom up. After four weeks of the pump they put me back on regular dressings but only have nurse app like twice a week and to this day I’m still getting the dressings 😂 it’s closed up now almost should be done in two weeks hopefully it’s very dragged out for something that’s so minor yakno wouldn’t recommend 🤣 I never told anyone I had something going on before I got diagnosed w it bc I was afraid ppl be like ew wtf but turns out it’s very common and had to go around school w a pump that makes load af motor sounds and fart noises wasn’t fun but yeah glad it’s almost over ahaha also like one of my worse fears was getting a vivid test bc that shit don’t look fun and being put to sleep for surgery both happened the same day loved that for me

I had a blood pressure issue about a week ago or so, and I fell down because of it. I landed directedly on a "long leg" of a solid wood mirror's base. Directly on my coccyx and I BOUNCED. It was excruciating and still is giving me intense grief. In the last couple days, I've developed an unbearable (and unrelievable) itch right in there. The itching is quite maddening.
Do you think the trauma from the fall caused this (possible) Pilonidal Cyst? I was shocked when my husband said there was a pimple developing alongside the redness. I take a bath every single day, busted coccyx or not. So I was upset, I keep clean.
But now I see THIS video, and am wondering if the fall caused this cyst. Is that a possibility? Cheers.

It’s deep, It’s just a dimple that red just looks like it’s red from being a crack. No itching. . He says it’s small but it feels like it’s pushing a bunch of things out of place. My x ray also says I show an old healed coccyx sacral fracture with mild difformité. I’ve had pain for 6 years (suddenly during 14 weeks of pregnancy) only now finding a pilondial cyst, but am being told this can not cause my sciatica, nerve issues, compression, sensations,
The cyst is pretty much invisible and looks nothing like the pics I see of pilondial cysts.
Only real symptom is a bit of redness and sacral dimple ? and the ultrasound.

I don’t have a bumb and redness does that mean I don’t have a cyst? Or can pilonidal cysts be there without redness and a bumb?
Update: it’s pilonidal cyst. I’ve had my surgery a month and 2 weeks ago

hello doctor I've had whats labeled a PILONIDAL CYST, which to me was just an embarrassing hole there since I was a teenager and I'm 33 now. The problem is now I'm in a world of hurt because the skin surrounding it has become more dense to the touch which it wasn't before. If its an infection can I take anti-biotics or any other meds OR could it require surgery which i am terrified of because how can even sit after that surgery is done. Please loan me your help as I am in bad pain no matter if I sit, go to sleep or even walk.

Hello doctor, I believe I have pilondal cyst and it came from no where. Its been a week and from that time I thought it was tailbone pain and did some stuff they said to do online to help treat it. It didn't get any better so I went to my doctor and he told me the same thing I read online and to get a cushion for sitting which I did, I also take ibuprofen for the pain. I did see a small bump but I thought it was just swelling which I read could be a symptom of tailbone pain. Until today I noticed a yellowish, funky smelling, gooey substance on that area and immediately looked online on what it could be. I'm pretty sure its pilondial cyst and that it just popped, so I was wondering if there's anything I can do to keep it from getting infected and to go away. I read some homemade remedies and tried the one where you dillute apple cider vinegar and dip a cotton ball on it then apply it to the affected area. Is that good and will that help? My bump is not that big but I dont really know what to do. Please help.
    Thank you for your time

tikaismeee e hi, I am going through the same thing as you. is this your first one? this is my third in 18 yrs, and they hurt soooo bad. I also am trying the apple cider vinegar along with baking soda to make a paste.did that work out for you? i heard a way to keep them from recurring is to constantly twice a day ,use the acne pads with salysilic acid, like OXy , and that helps keep the bacteria to stay away.also tea tree oul. I plan on buying all these things soon as i can get my money this week. these things are very very painful, and its better to do a few steps extra in our hygiene practice to keep our pilonidal cysts from recurring and keep them " asleep"

I'm sorry to hear about your pain. Hopefully it has resolved by now, since it is two months since your comment was posted (I'm just now getting caught up on answering some of the comments on my CZcams videos). Certainly when you describe the "yellowish, funky smelling, gooey substance" that does indeed sound like it is worth having you get checked out medically to see if it is a pilonidal cyst. I recommend that you see your primary care physician or other health care provider. I'm not familiar with the homemade remedies (apple cider vinegar, etc.) that you describe, and there is the potential for a pilonidal cyst to become infected which can be very serious. It's worth seeking in-person medical attention.
