  • I look back at the last 2 years of ownership on my 136,000 mile Megane RS250 and tell you how much this car has cost to own. It’s used as my daily, weekend and track car. The “Do Everything car”.

    Exactly the sort of used car review I have been looking for. Others should follow this example. Thanks

    Another excellent video Rich, nice one. Some really useful information in there, and fair play the car looks stunning. And I think that era and that colour for me has a 'classic Megane RS' look about it. I've started trying to find one, but as you can imagine its not easy. Found that too many have leather seats, and hardly any have the Recaro's and those that do have them in leather, which I agree with you on just isn't right for a sports car

    Ive owned a Megane Mk3 GT RenaultSport Estate 160 2.0 dci ( Not a GT Line) from 75k to 133k miles and it was fautless. Just brakes and 2 snapped springs was replaced . Great fun work horse 👍

    That’s Less than depreciation on most new cars and way more fun.

    I've got a RS250 2011 Sport. Bought as a cat D about 8 years ago. Love the thing 84000 miles. Body and interior are a bit tatty but mechanically it's mint. I met a guy, an amateur car enthusiast and he does all the work on it. He rags me about my lack of attention to having it valeted and cleaned but he knows every bush, drop link, mount, everything mechanical that has been done and he'd take it off me in a heart beat.
    Change it???? Sometimes I have a thought but then the reality of how much I'd have to spend to get the same kind of drive kicks in. She is unmolested, never been tracked and barely does 4000miles a year.
    Love this car and will probably keep it until the government bans petrol.

    Great cars so much fun. Had my megane 275 just over 2 years haven't been as much on cost over that period but the car just had the cambelt done at four ashes 2 months previous to me getting it. I well maintained can't see high mileage been a issue with these cars. Good video on cost info for a new buyer.

    That's not bad considering you've used it as a hobby car too, take off the money you only spent to track it and repair it and you won't have to pay out much next year.

      Remember the key cost to owning a car is nearly always depreciation and yet I don’t think my RS250 has lost anything in the past 2 years!
      More on that during next weeks video when I look at annual ownership costs across the garage whilst taking into account the effects of depreciation/appreciation.

    • @FastandFun
      @FastandFun  Před rokem +1

      There’s some light wear (small hole) on the drivers seat bolster (yellow dot Recaro’s renowned for it!) but otherwise there’s few wear ‘n’ tear marks and no squeaks at all.

      @@csllover Alex’s modified Meg is off the road at the minute (although he was out in it last weekend in the snow 🤣!). The plan is to meet early in the new year and for Alex to bring his yellow Megane up and for me to do a review with full audio this time! Tbf the weather last time was horrendous (met office flood warning!) so we need to pick a good weekend early in the new year and do his car justice 👍🏻

    • @FastandFun
      @FastandFun  Před rokem +8

      So you don’t like the video, insult me and say I’m not a “Meg man” because my rear pad dropped out and then ask me a question? 😂😂 It dropped out because I was on track with traction control still on which allows the car to still use ABS and as a result rear brakes working overtime cooked the rear pad which delaminated from the backing plate! I hope that better informs you 👍🏻
