Joost began his carier mostly with rap and hiphop songs, but with catchy beats. Later on the beats became more dubstep and drumbeat, also because he began to work with TantuBeats. He devolped a love for the dutch dj’s from the nineties, hardcore and hardstyle music, so lately he makes more music like that

This evening his music was a bit different (faster) than normal. I think he didn't want to sing the normal version of Europapa he only used bits of the song. He also had 2 new songs.
I prefer his show on Lowlands 2023. This show was the best !!!

I immediately picked up on the Europapa tune and vibe when it was put to the public. I loved it and I say this not being a fan of this type of sound at all tbh and that's probably an age thing, me going back to old school 70's / 80's rock music and other styles from even before that time. So I have to be honest, personally I am not thrilled about this video but I understand how it gets the young people on their feet and dance...

He gave the audience what they wanted to hear, but removed anything too close to vulnerability and the pressure of having to say something on the subject of ESC.
There's a range of different versions for different purposes around, this way it will be perfect for the EURO 2024 and will then probably go through the roof once again, right?
The vulnarability was in his voice though, when you listen good, you can spot that. Especialy in his new songs!
An other timbre in his voice and also very much saying texts with big messages. And indeed he has serveral versions of Europapa on his latest album.

Maybe it was mainly about not losing control in the current situation at least as far as Europapa is concerned, because everyone wanted to hear it.
I can hardly imagine how many feelings have been colliding at supersonic speed recently and especially that first time on stage again ... and still are.
I have immense respect.
One might think that the whole situation benefits him - but the price is far too high. And what's more, such hype can quickly take on unhealthy traits.

That young public in party mode, won't notice that vulnarability ( not directly) .Thats oké. But he himself knows what he is doing: staying in control of his emoties after this rollercoaster. And very very subtile give the messages. Also with body language.
He is in evolution of course, as his art concerns. Through this experience. Much respect from me also!
