About 60% of Israelis are either full or mixed Middle Eastern and North African Jews.
There were almost a million Jews living in that region at about 1948.
During the 1950s and 1960s almost all of them have migrated into Israel, just like some of the European Jews who've migrated (although most European Jews actually live today in North America, not Israel).
Few of the most common ancestries among Israeli Jews today are: Moroccan, Iraqi, Tunisian and Yemeni. Those were significant communities until the creation of Israel.
The real question is. Why do supporters of Palestine or anti-Israel people insist on repeating that false "truism" that Israelis/Jews "are European" whilst that is factually not the case?
Not sure how that helps the pro-Palestine movement, unless you're advocating for an ethnonationalist "blood and soil" type of nationalism for Palestinians, just like Zionism is.

This was ofc. during "peace time" so i would assume way more people are a bit more heated about the issue these past few months. In the context of sport events however i would assume that playing in for example Qatar or Egypt would not be all that pleasant considering the usual sports crowds and their chants etc. Might be perceived as hostile, but not exactly dangerous.

Netenyahu's response to Isreal's move to the final and the pro-Palestinian protest says it all - conflating, as ever, antisemitism with anti Israel sentiments. The EBU has made a major mistake including this song entry.

Because it is in the European broadcast area. Israel wants to be in the west. It hates the culture of those living around it. It is a western colonial society. The fact it doesn't want to mix means there will never be peace. It wants Greater Israel . I think some of them want to include Jordan in that.
