- Queen Camilla invited some little helpers to decorate the Christmas tree at Clarence House. During the event, supported by Helen & Douglas House and Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity, Her Majesty treated the children to some festive surprises, as well as a visit from Father Christmas and his reindeer. I have an adult daughter with disabilities and taught students with these types of disabilities for 30 years and believe me I can tell when someone feels uncomfortable and doesn't want to interact. Camilla is genuine in her care and enjoyment here. She touches, looks in faces and talks to the children, even when they aren't able to respond much. Catherine and Sophie are the same way. On the other hand you'll see a no longer royal use them for a photo shoot without ever speaking to them, looking at hem or taking time. Camilla made each child feel welcomed.

Children are so intuitive, they sense genuine & sincere kindness & love, their smiles at Queen Camilla paints a picture.
@charlottesmail1056 - You are absolutely spot on, Camilla, Catherine and Sophie have such a lovely way about them all three have married for love and have husbands that return the love. The have all taken on their roles within the Royal Family and carry out their duties with great loyalty. Along with Princess Anne they are true supporters of the King, County and Commonwealth.

This is so awesome! I watched Queen Camilla taking time with the children, talking with them, shaking hands, getting and giving hugs, etc. You can tell she's a grandmother at heart. I'm sure this was very special to them and their parents as well.

I love that dress - the colour suits her so well. This is a wonderful event Queen Camilla does every year, bringing real joy to some special little kids. Decorating the tree using a sword is absolutely inspired, and the children always enjoy that. God bless you, every one! ❤

My uncle was disabled and I've volunteered at a disabled school so I know first hand that events like these mean the world to the children and the families. They are made to feel so special and they'll remember it for years.

Perhaps then(?), you will begin to appreciate the quiet internal rage bubbling under the surface here in the UK by the vast majority of people for the behaviour of our renegade Prince and that awful woman he chose to marry. Still, as the US is blessed with "that pair" as a reference or datum point, we have over the last 5 years learned to appreciate how lucky we are to have the "working" Royal Family representing as, while we know they are there, the majority of what they do is under the radar unless you are involved with a charity or organisation they are associated with.
