Your try crime is exciting and cracks me up!
I like your livestreams as is. Keep showing tips for accuracy and blocks in different fabric lines are always appreciated.
I have tried your applique method and I like how you end up with no seams to turn under. It is my favorite method of applique.!
Today was great. Another sew with me with another project from perfect 10 or this book would be great. I love seeing those quilts in “real” fabric. Meaning current fabrics and not solids. That really inspires me.
Will be making this for National Jelly Roll Day Sept 16th!
I have been scouring Pinterest for days looking for a quick jelly roll pattern to start this weekend & now I have one!! Thanks so much Kimberly & FQS for being there when I need you!!
Jeanette Schnell m.
Love this new Jelly Roll 'Slice' Pattern. Thank you for another fun short-cut pattern!
Love the book! Definitely going to buy, thank you Kimberly! I love the versatility of the blue print quilt, many options. I love the Lovestruck fabric line, wonderful range of colors. Thank you for the wonderful presentation.
LOVE IT! I'm looking forward to making this! Thank you!
LOVE the additional size options & info. A great tutorial for all the beautiful Jelly Rolls available in my stash. Thank you!
Another fun quilt tutorial. I think I am going to make the twin size. I appreciate the printable information and the videos they make it so easy. thanks,Ann
I just joined. I'm so excited. I been watching the free one for a few months
That was great Kimberly! More more!🥰💓💖💝
Happy birthday Kimberly! I do not find your tutorials boring or repetitive. I always gfeel motivated and inspired! I love the interview also! I appreciate you I trouncing us to new designers, especially people of color who are doing amazing things. Seeing younger people getting into quilting is very interesting. I really acknowledge you and Kevin for your charity work/projects that give us so.many pretty quilts to make while donating to very worthy causes. Tha k you!
Beautiful quilt on the back!
Kimberly, thanks so much for the pattern & options for different sizes! I'm starting a new lap quilt tomorrow using your pattern & video & appreciate all the work that you & your teams go to & through for little old me!!
+Jeanette Schnell We are so glad you are taking advantage of our pattern! Happy quilting!

so beautiful! thank you! 😊
I am aquilt virgin I wanted to lean for a long time I love your tips and video I really love the step by step tutorials, I do get lost when you jump in to the next step. But I do love it.
Hi! I totally get what you're saying!! I am the same way! I thought it was just me!! Hee hee!! Thank God for CZcams & FQS!! Good luck!! 😂
Thank you very much.
Finally, someone who uses the ruler for what it's made for instead of using the cutting mat....
Kimberly! I look for your videos, but I find other women who are not as good as you are, and I get disappointed. You have that special talent! Use it and do more yourself.
🙄
Love this tutorial and I can't wait to try it. The quilt behind you is gorgeous. Is that pieced or appliqued? Look forward to seeing all your videos.
+Mary Kay Harman The quilt hanging is called Summerville by Bonnie & Camille and you can find the pattern here: www.fatquartershop.com/summerville-downloadable-pdf-quilt-pattern and the quilt kit here: www.fatquartershop.com/summerville-quilt-kit This pattern is entirely pieced.
❤️❤️❤️
I am new to sewing and I love these tutorials, I was wondering however if you could do a video on how to add the quilt backing. It would be greatly appreciated
+Arrianaa peart Certainly Arrianaa, we have received many requests for this technique. Thanks for the suggestion.
+Fat Quarter Shop awesome, you guys are the best!
very nice
I love the quilt in the back on the wall, do you have the pattern for that?
Hello Marco Mama! Yes we do! You can find it here: www.fatquartershop.com/summerville-downloadable-pdf-quilt-pattern
The iron you are using is so cute, do you have the name of it? Thank you
Thats our little Rowenta Mini Travel Iron. You can find it here: www.fatquartershop.com/compact-travel-steam-iron-by-rowenta-first-class
Hi dear Kimberly, your videos are so fun & inspiring. I’m new to quilting, but nt sewing. I need to buy a sewing machine that is quiet, strong and has a platform and can do the quilting stitches. Can you advise me on the model brand as well as the small iron you have? I’m so looking forward to getting the right supplies that are the best quality. Lots of love& Blessings!💫💜
Hi Ann! Here's the iron we used: www.fatquartershop.com/compact-travel-steam-iron-by-rowenta-first-class
As for a sewing machine, there are so many options and many different budgets, but if you want advice from different perspectives we recommend joining our Facebook Group: Kimberly's Stitch Squad. You can ask the community they're thoughts and Kimberly replies there as well!
Love the house and star quilt behind you do you have a tutorial for this one please.
Hi Jenny! Yes, the quilt hanging is quite stunning. We do not currently have plans to film a tutorial for this pattern however you can purchase the pattern at the following link: www.fatquartershop.com/summerville-quilt-pattern Thanks for watching!
Hi Kimberly, it looks great fun to do!! But the quilt at your back is amazing, where is that patten from? Will you be showcasing a tutorial for those blocks too? Thanks and happy Easter 😀
+Laura Latino Hi Laura - the quilt you are referring to is called Summerville and you can find the pattern here: www.fatquartershop.com/summerville-downloadable-pdf-quilt-pattern You can also purchase a quilt kit if you like the fabric here: www.fatquartershop.com/summerville-quilt-kit Thanks for your question!
Kimberly I love the quilt behind you. can you tell me if you have that pattern for sale?
Hi! The pattern is sold at FQS! Kimberly posted the link for it in a previous comment! Here's the link: www.fatquartershop.com/summerville-quilt-pattern Happy quilting!!😊
I would love to see a tutorial on the quilt hanging on the wall behind you in this tutorial.
+Cindy Crist Thanks for your suggestion. This quilt was simply stunning in person. The pattern can be found here: www.fatquartershop.com/summerville-downloadable-pdf-quilt-pattern and we have offered a quilt kit here: www.fatquartershop.com/summerville-quilt-kit There is no plan to film a tutorial for this quilt. Sorry about that. THanks for watching though. Happy Quilting!
Thanks! I will put this pattern in my stash of patterns and fabric for retirement in a couple of years.
Me too! It’s gorgeous
love the idea. I have no idea what a slice block is??? Did I miss the final showing of the finished quilt? ???
+Tressie Carter Thanks for the comment Tressie! We showed the quilt in the beginning, you can see it at 0:18. As for what a slice block is... it's a fun term we made up just for this quilt! Definitely not a technical term. Thanks for your feedback Tressie and we hope you like the quilt!
I love the quilt behind you. Where can I get this pattern?
+Connie Meyers Check the following link, there we have the pattern as well as a kit available: www.fatquartershop.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=summerville Thanks for watching!
Lovely colors. Should have spent time at the end of your tutorial putting all the blocks together to see what it looks like before quilting. Did you include borders?
Hello Joanne! Jelly Roll Slice does not have borders.
Hi Thanks for the video, gorgeous quilt. I’d like to make it larger but can’t find the link you mentioned.
Here is the link: static.fatquartershop.com/media/wysiwyg/pdf/JellyRollSlice-CompletePattern.pdf
Fat Quarter Shop Thank you for the link, much appreciated
@@FatQuarterShopTX The link doesn't work anymore.
Hi Kimbery_-Do you have any suggestions for how to sew a scant quarter inch foot when using a quarter inch presser foot?
Hello Ginny! Kimberly typically does not use a scant 1/4"
I recall seeing a video that had a quilt behind you with a border of houses in pastel color fabric. Please can you tell me what the pattenr is and the fabrick. I so want to make ir
Great video! Can you please tell me the name of the quilt that is on the middle shelf on the left side of the screen. Thank you!
Hi Krista! The quilt folded on the middle shelf is the Cherry Orchard Jolly Bar Quilt madeusing Vintage Picnic. It was an exclusive pattern included with the Jolly Bar.
Love your videos! I notice you're sewing with a Juki - did you discuss your switch somewhere? I'd love to read it if you did.
+Kristen Olson Hi Kristen! We are using a Juki sewing machine, we just love it. What do you mean by "switch"? Thanks for watching!
+Fat Quarter Shop I thought I remembered a Baby Lock in older videos, so I was just curious if you had decided to switch to Juki altogether? Or do you still use your Baby Lock? (I have a Baby Lock, but I'm curious about Juki's.)
+Kristen Olson I use juki for piecing and babylock if I need a fancy stitch or to quilt but 95% time use juki
+Fat Quarter Shop Awesome! Thanks for the reply! :)
I just purchased the quilt pattern in the background. Is there a video on that one? Summerville Quilt Pattern by Camille Roskelley of Thimble Blossoms House quilt
Hello Terry! We do not have a tutorial for that pattern.
could you put on video for jelly roll twin quilt k
I also use a Juke sewing that I love but have never found a 1/4 inch foot I was happy with. Can you tell me where Kimberly purchased her guided 1/4" foot she is using on her Juki. Thanks so much
+Jennifer Martinez We purchased the foot from a shop in Austin, Tx called Sew Much More. Here is a link to their site: www.sewaustin.com/index.html?gclid=Cj0KEQiAxrW2BRCFidKbqKyq1YEBEiQAnMDWxq4lJ10OWl9PRMqzQ-oDhq9O66W71PWKcRRIMgKWwL0aAm_u8P8HAQ Give them a call.

I thought that Kimberly liked to use starch? Has that opinion changed?
+AvivaHadas Nope, great observation! She actually did starch it a lot, just not on camera.
where does she starch? like the strip sets before subcutting?
Did I miss a final picture of what this quilt looks like?
+Bunny Wilson Here is a link to our website kit that has more photos of the main quilt made in the video: www.fatquartershop.com/jelly-roll-slice-quilt-kit
+Fat Quarter Shop Thank you, Kimberly! I have a jelly roll here that I love and haven't used yet. Maybe this is the pattern that will make it happen. :)
Might be a silly question, but instead of making two quilts, couldn't we use all the coordinating strips minus a few to double the quilt size?
+MRSH4EVR You certainly can make it larger. If you click the following link: static.fatquartershop.com/media/wysiwyg/pdf/JellyRollSlice-CompletePattern.pdf and scroll to the bottom, there are multiple size options. Thanks for your question.
hi I love your videos.. i am looking for the crib size but it never takes me to a link for that .. what am I missing
Hello Tracy! The pattern is available in the decription box underneath the title. Here is a link to the pattern: www.fatquartershop.com/jelly-roll-slice-quilt
As hard as you work, I say you’ve made 40 quilts!
I’m not seeing any link for making these larger??
Hello Fran! The pattern link is where you can find the larger sizes up to a queen: www.fatquartershop.com/jelly-roll-slice-quilt
When you separated the strips at the beginning I’m confused on what your reasoning was. Can you explain that please?
Hello Jennifer! The Jelly Roll Slice quilt uses 17 strips, so she pulled out the 17 she wanted to use for this quilt, and can use the rest for a future one
Just curious can you avoid the warping by sewing in opposite directions when sewing more than two jelly rolls?
Hello Alejandra! Warping shouldn't be an issue when sewing more than two jelly rolls.
If warping shouldn't be a problem, why were you saying the centers are always wavy? How can we avoid that to save fabric?
Can you tell me the name of the quilt behind you please
+Teresa Persell The quilt hanging is called Summerville by Bonnie & Camille and you can find the pattern here: www.fatquartershop.com/summerville-downloadable-pdf-quilt-pattern and the quilt kit here: www.fatquartershop.com/summerville-quilt-kit
Hi there. The pattern link is dead. :(
Hello Ron! Here is the link to the pattern: www.fatquartershop.com/jelly-roll-slice-quilt
@@FatQuarterShopTX Thanks, folks.
what is the name of the quilt behind you?
+joann cassidy The quilt is called Summerville and you can find the pattern here: www.fatquartershop.com/summerville-downloadable-pdf-quilt-pattern We are also offering it as a quilt kit here: www.fatquartershop.com/summerville-quilt-kit
Thanks!
i have a question......why do you just cut the sides of the strips, & not the center?????? just wondering.
Hello Kristie! This is Kimberly's preference to avoid cutting pieces from the center of a Jelly Roll. Because of how it's folded, the center can be hard to get extremely flat.
Fabric C and D??
Hello Gena! This collection is no longer available.
@@FatQuarterShopTX ok thank u
I wish that she would say the measurement that she was cutting.
yes, where was a view of the finished quilt...????kind of important!
+Carla T Thanks for the comment Carla! We showed the quilt in the beginning but forgot to show it again at the end :(
Go to 0:18 to see the finished quilt. Thanks again!
If you learn how to cut with both hands... you can save a WHOLE lotta time cutting - no need to flip fabric over to stay with one handed cutting!
sorry, just needed to read the instructions above, got them, love the tutorials, as well as the fabrics i have purchased from fqs.
I just got a jelly roll from the Fat Quarter Shop. I am watching your tutorial and I don't understand why you are counting separating and setting aside pieces. I don''t know how many pieces I have. Can you help?
Hello Laura! There are typically 42 pieces in a Jelly Roll. She is counting them per the pattern instructions.
How comes a lot of people over there sound each other? And I mean right down to accent and husky type voice and even facial expressions and mouth movements too. Just like the woman from a TV program called Pioneer Woman. That's not having a go I'm just curious. It may even come across rude but it's not meant to be, as said I'm just curious and I've always been told ask.
MacArthur Piper Ree Drummond (Pioneer Woman) is from Oklahoma. If I remember correctly Kimberly is from Texas. Those states are near each other and have a similar accent as well as similar dialect. When you study a foreign language you spend a lot of time learning proper ways to move your tongue, shape your mouth, and use your throat. Dialects are no different. Also, American English uses a lot of specific tones and facial expressions. For example a question sentence would involve a higher pitch at the end of a sentence as well as raised eyebrows. From the perspective of an American these women seem completely different but I can see where you may be noticing similarities.
As an experienced quilter, I can understand what she has done. But I would not advise a new quilter to try to make a quilt following this video. Too many steps were not well explained.
+Percy_Jackson11 The printed pattern gives all of the steps and makes this very easy.
+Percy_Jackson11 Our videos are supposed to be used in addition with our patterns. We strive to make our patterns clear and easy to read. If you need a visual for a diagram in the pattern for example, you can reference the videos. Hope this makes since. Thanks so much for watching!
I'm really not critical about other people's work but you ironed your strips wonky. There's a proper way to press not iron the strips.... Sorry I'm really picky about pressing my strips.
It wouldn't be wavy if you would so two together and then so the other one in the opposite direction. Obviously we're not dealing with the professional here
