I just saw the movie, and It was 1 of the best movies i ever saw. There is so much more to a country and what others make of it from outside, esp media. The common man is the same all over the world, has the same kind of love for his family, has same amount of troubles making ends meet. There were so many scenes which moved me like no other movie had ever before. For instance, I cried with Moaadi in the scene where he cried cleaning his dad in the bathroom, I could feel his pain, his agony (and for a moment I put myself in his place and that imagination brought tears to my eyes). This is a masterpiece of world cinema. I will cherish this movie for a lifetime (and would realllllly want to age like Peyman Moaadi).

Anime Klassiker agree but we get our history back , it's about more than 30 years after that revolution but 30 years is nothing in a country with 2500 years culture.

seldom do you see a more engaging drama on the issue of moral choices in life. The movie asks tough questions . By the time the movie ends, even the viewers find themselves trapped in the moral web of the movie. Great work of art. You decide if you can ! Each performance looked better than the other, you can't decide. Particularly, the performance of little Kimia Hosseini bowls you over. This actor is so young, yet you cannot find a single false note ! Persian cinema, a lover of cinema sends you love and appreciation from India.

She did great in it. She’s the only female character to appear without hijab in the movie

Excellent speech. I hope everyone understood what he said and more importantly what he MEANT...Iran is a very fragile country at the moment and people are very misinformed of the difference between Iranians and the government. The government is not even 1% of the country. ONLY Iranian people wish to take control back of their own country and DO NOT want America to intervene. If you want to know who and how REAL Iranians are (other than what the news tells you) hit the replay button.

His name is Payman Maadi. If you like to watch another great piece of acting by him watch "About Elly" which is another great film by Asghar Farhadi.

I have seen both - if you understand the context of Iran and if you're honest to yourself, I would find it hard to believe if you tell if it still should go to In Darkness. A separation is a triumph of humanity, bravery and independent creativity. In Darkness is brilliant but A Separation has the spirit we all should salute to. This is respecting that spirit more than respecting what the film TECHNICALLY all about. Cheers.
