We had a wonderful cruising experience on MSC, of course people will always find fault and complain. We thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience with all kinds of exotic foods from around the world in the buffet. Most Americans complained because there was a lack of hotdogs and hamburgers throughout the ship including the Main Dining Room. Some days it doesn't pay to get out of bed.
Well, I may have to eat crow for my MDR dinner choice! My first impressions were very good! MSC ships are always great looking, I was hoping the service lived up to them and so far, my expectations have been very favorable. We'll see how the week goes! Once again, a VERY favorable vlog with the usual "just the facts M'am" presentation with the obligatory very enjoyable Mr. Canuck insightful asides! Can't wait to follow the voyage!
I'm so glad to see some positive remarks about the maligned MSC. I've sailed on Meraviglia twice and Divina twice, the last time a 26-night transatlantic this year that was absolutely fabulous. I get the impression that a lot of our U.S. passengers don't like sailing with Europeans. I love MSC for that, because I get to meet and mingle with people from all over the world. Best cruiseline out there in muy opinion.

The letter hunt is so much fun! I only found one of the Koningsdam series letters so this time around I tried hard to find it on the first time watching the video. Unfortunately I had to rewatch it without audio, but I found it! All the gorgeous food and drinks and beautiful views distracted me. Cannot wait for the next vlog!

Just dId Seaside in Sept and Seascape in Jan Here is MSC in a nutshell. Both boats are beautiful and first class on decor and seating with very elegant gathering areas 1. Food and Service is not as good as other cruise lines 2. Long waits for drinks and the bars always seemed understaffed But again the boats are newer and very classy but everyone we spoke with seemed to have the same opinion on the food

Amazing how fast they got your bags to the room. The food looked good. Good tip about going to the back of the buffet to skip the crowds. When I worked on ships I would always walk to the back to the custom sandwich station and it took a long time for the guests to find that spot so it was often not busy.
Really looking forward to all your thoughts on MSC. We were on this ship when it was fairly new. I thought the ship was gorgeous. Food was okay. The sports bar was our favorite place to hang out for drinks. Have fun!
If you do not see your cabin steward, you can leave a note for him requesting extra hangers. This is from 83 year old cruiser, who actually cruise on the old love boat.
Yes, the Italian ships tend to do the credit card machine when you get on the ships. Costa does , Costa did that maybe about 10 years ago and also when you went to the lifeboat drill, they scanned your cards, this was maybe 10 years ago, they did this also. So it must be an Italian thing. happy you're having a good time, European ships tend to have magicians singers, and I don't know what else, but this is because they have a multinational passenger list and this way everyone can enjoy. We were on this cruise with you and it was our first MSC cruise as well. We were also very happy with the fast embarkation and didn’t think muster was bad. Can’t wait to see more!

The Seaside had the nicest sports bar that we ever saw on a cruise. We didn’t know that they were. The official cruise of the Miami Dolphins. That makes sense why the bar had so many things from that specific team.🐬
It was! We were so surprised to see our luggage at our door when we arrived. Definitely the earliest time that we have ever had our luggage delivered!🧳
I was just on that ship end of Aug. I think getting Basic Wifi and Easy Plus included as part of the room is way to go. It alway cheaper that getting just Easy package when you get onboard and Easy Plus cover most of what most people want. I would like to note I loved the focaccia bread and Pizza I wish other cruise lines would steal those, it one of MSC best items. Looking forward to next vlog.

Glad the food was good. Unreal internet prices! Glad you were served at the bar, but glad you got those hangers! Fridge is LOCKED!? Ridiculous. Muster to just scan your key card not bad...sail away show looks kind of dumb…but having a good pizza balcony is good! Early dining is 7:15? No way I could do 9:30. Chaos just to get in the dining room? Good tip about knowing table number. Chicken & waffles not a great special! Mrs. Canuck looks great in green! Lounge singer was pretty good. Prime rib & apple crumble look good-good choice.
Been on several MSC cruises, and have a couple more booked, The ships are beautiful and very well cleaned and maintained, the staff are amazingly friendly, the food is just like any other cruise you go on there can be ups or downs but found it no different than any other mainstream cruise line, my only criticism is the lack of different itineraries from the US, next cruise is in Yacht club which is awesome it honestly is the best deal in the cruising industry for what you get, hope you continued to like your cruise, and hopefully this vlog will get people to try MSC out, I feel they get a bad rap from the reviews because honestly most everyone I ever talk to onboard says it is as good or better than other mainstream cruise lines they have been on
We were prepared for a chaotic drill but our experience was that it went really smoothly. That may of been due to the fact that we were only two decks above the drill location.
We felt there was a good selection. We were impressed to see prime rib on a casual dining night. Generally we have only seen prime rib on formal nights.
Re dining times; it's custom in Europe, particularly Italy and Spain, to eat after the sun goes down and the heat of the day is over, say 9.30pm to 10pm.
hi there....did you rent a car to drive from orlando to the port? if you did, what did you do with the car in order to embark the ship? looks like a nice ship!
We rented a car with Budget because they have a drop-off location at Port Canaveral. They offer a free shuttle to bring you to and from the cruise port. We found it to be a very popular choice for fellow cruisers so, a warning that it can be a long wait to pick up a car from there.
We paid $5.00 more for the rental car than if we did the shuttle. We felt it was worth it to have the freedom to go on our schedule. Budget rental cars has a drop off point at Port Canaveral. They provide a free shuttle to the cruise terminal.
We find MSC has the lowest prices for base cruise fare and drink packages. We don't have the need to do race cars, 3D racing or specialty dining - making MSC the most affordable cruise option in North America
MSC is not what it use to be… they just don’t care. I cannot spend my hard earned TIME and money on an unsure vacation. Especially when when you need a vacation from the cruise. And wanting off on day 4. I’m not going to stop cruising but when I do, MSC is no longer an option.

Looks like a nice ship. I like the outdoor tables to eat at. I always like to try and sit outside when we are eating breakfast and lunch at the buffet

I always put a clean towel on the sofas when I'm on a ship.- i've been on many cruises and I find this is best way to handle sofa's old and new

Us too, which is why we always request early dining.
Yes we are aware of that. Unfortunately for us due to health reasons eating late is not enjoyable.

It actually wasn’t as bad as we anticipated!
Ours was completely different we couldn’t even get out of our room the hallway we still full of people, and the stairwells were beyond crowded
I saw that ours was terrible and I were people everywhere couldn’t move. I’m not kidding. Lucky you.❤️❤️
The muster drill is a great place to meet women.
Actually loved the muster on MSC. Watched the video in the room then lliteraly walked to our muster station and went our merry way.
7:15 early dining! Holy Moley! That would be an adjustment.
It definitely was for us. We tend to eat at around 5pm so even though we had early dining it still felt late to us.

We bid and didn’t get an upgrade.
We received an email the night before boarding telling us that we were not successful in our bid for the upgrade.
