I like to think if you're in love with someone you can immediately tell it's them even if they have a Spiderman suit on. Sounds weird but you'd know...
Tobey's Spider-Man embodies the phrase "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility." He understands that he can't live a normal life with the powers he has-heck even the second movie centers around this. Garfield's Spider-Man never learns- Gwen's dad tells Peter to leave her alone as his dying wish then he goes and dates her anyway which results in her dying a movie later. He doesn't really have any true motivation to be Spider-Man. Tom's Spider-Man is handed everything. He has a suit made for him, he had access to Stark technology, has other people to help him along, and he doesn't really receive any major consequences for his actions.
Tobey his Peter is more homely. He's relatable but not in a forced way for the average person. He wants to be cool, he goes to school and has a job on the side. He has arguments with family. He's trying to juggle his private life and social.
I have the feeling that the Raimi Spiderman movies have so much more weight to them. There are so many iconic scenes that still get quoted to this day. I couldn't name one scene from the recent spiderman movies that had the same impact on me, not only because of the lack of nostalgia but just because they feel insignificant. I noticed that even in high stake situations the tension gets broken by a cheap joke so you never feel like there is any real threat or struggle. You can really feel the duality of Tobey's Spiderman and the theme of "with great power comes great responsibility" is clear throughout the story which is also beautifully conveyed by the soundtrack. Raimi's Spiderverse feels larger than life. I think the Tom Holland Spiderman movies lack this quality.
I'm fifty now, and still this scene IS the essence of Spider-Man to me. The next movie continues the thread, but when I saw this, it made me realize why I've the character since I could read. The reason Tobey Maguire is the best Spider-Man is simple: unlike Tom Holland's Spider-Man, who tries to fill the shoes of Ironman, to the point where he's given Ironman's technology and equipment to use rather than just being a hero, or Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man, where it's strongly infered that he was destined to become Spider-Man, since his enemies are directly connected to his father's work, and the reason why he obtained powers from the spider bite in the first place was because his fathers DNA was present in them, Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man was simply an honest and good yet flawed kid, that was given powers by chance, and through his own mistakes came to understand that he had a moral obligation to use his gift to help people around him, regardless of how much of his own happiness and life he had to sacrifice. No one will ever top Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man. Ever.
3:10 no one will understand the feeling I get when I hear that theme, it’s indescribable. I grew up with this trilogy, this Spider-Man, these villains. There may be multiple Spider-Man’s in an infinite number of universes but Tobey, he’s my Spider-Man and will never forget him.
*NO WAY HOME SPOILER* I see a couple parallels between no way home’s ending and this one. Tom’s Peter is essentially having to make the same choice. To choose being alone rather than risk the life of the girl he loves. There were so many scenes that complimented the original Spider-Man films. Things came full circle
Agreed. Also, word of advice: Next time when you put spoilers in a CZcams comment. But a bunch of space between the spoiler warning and the spoiler. That way for someone reading, they have to actively click "Read more" on the comment to see the spoiler.
The most emotional line is...All I wanted to tell her that how much I love you but he can't 😭😭 He scarified his love to be safe..! Because he knows that Spiderman has always enemies.

You know....I had been burned out on Spiderman after the Amazing movies that I had forgotten how special this trilogy was to me. And when I saw the fresh new take that Tom Holland brought to this character, I got excited again. But after a while, I got gotten so caught up in the overall expanding Marvel cinematic universe that as time went on, Spiderman as a character started falling to the wayside. Not to say that Tom isn't a good Spider-Man, but it....wasn't the same...And now that I come back to this clip, hearing this music, and the news of No Way Home with a potential return of Toby's Spidey, I was reminded....This trilogy, despite its faults, is absolutely the best Spider-Man interpretation. No contest.
Maybe you' all shouldn't have made fun of Spider-man 3. and told Sony to GFY. :) Now you got Tom holland. DEAL WITH IT. Now you all want him back? NOPE. Thats not how this works. SOrry. He will suffer the Michael keaton fate. live with it.
It wasn’t so much he did a 180, it’s that MJ finally learned he was Spider-Man, and wanted to be with him, even if it was a risk. He respected her enough to let her make that choice.

Spider-Man 1&2 are the best superhero movie combo. I’d recommend those 2 movies over every other to anyone who hasn’t ever seen a superhero movie.
Tobey will always be my Spider-Man
*NO WAY HOME SPOILER*
I see a couple parallels between no way home’s ending and this one. Tom’s Peter is essentially having to make the same choice. To choose being alone rather than risk the life of the girl he loves.
There were so many scenes that complimented the original Spider-Man films. Things came full circle
Thought the same
Agreed.
Also, word of advice: Next time when you put spoilers in a CZcams comment.
But a bunch of space between the spoiler warning and the spoiler.
That way for someone reading, they have to actively click "Read more" on the comment to see the spoiler.
In this moment a small spot in Peter's mind was thinking "Harry may have broken the Bro Code but I won't in his Dad's funeral
The most emotional line is...All I wanted to tell her that how much I love you but he can't 😭😭
He scarified his love to be safe..! Because he knows that Spiderman has always enemies.
This scene is too amazing, and reminds me how old I feel 😔😔
How old are you
@@alexmurphy5548 21, which doesn't sound old but I was really young when this came out and looking at it now makes me feel old
Same
@Joel….. 21….. boy I must be really old since this came out when I was 14 😂
I’m 21 as well…it does hit hard when watching this again.
Tobey is the best Spider-Man hands down
Whatever life holds in stored for me I will never forget these words “ With Great Power Comes Great Responsibly” this is my gift my curse Who am I? I’M SPIDER-MAN! (Tobey Maguire will always be Spider-Man)
The best personally in my opinion
3:26 This is my gift, my curse, my problem...
Who am I?
I missed the part where that's my problem.
i’m gonna put some dirt in your eye…
Tobey is Spiderman no one else
For me, Tobey Maguire will always be best Spiderman.
Tom Holland’s Spiderman finally understands this now
There will always be a Spider Man but Tobey Maguire will forever be THE SPIDER MAN! No one can hold a candle to him being out friendly neighborhood Spider Man! 🕷️
When she realized Peter was Spider-Man, along with the score in the background that's a goosebumps inducing moment right there.
0:01 i am soooooooo happy that they played it when tobey and otto came together😭😭😭😭
Its good to see you dear boy
You are all grown up
No we are all grown up watching you
You know....I had been burned out on Spiderman after the Amazing movies that I had forgotten how special this trilogy was to me. No contest.
Nuff said 👍
My boy peter got game.
Peter goes from simp to anti-simp.
@@kenthefele113 yeah just a while ago he was taking pictures of mj and we all know what they were meant for
sigma male grindset
@@alexmurphy5548 for the “school paper” 😏
so this is what it feels like to get friend zoned
Thing is he friendzoned her. She was down till he shut her down.
she realised he was spiderman.
@@howardlam6181 yep at precisely 3:10. Didn't notice that until now (high fives monitor)
And then she friendzoned him in Spiderman 3,how the tabled have turned
@@MaxerV19 wooooowwww. Spoilers.
True Sigma male who is focused in his goals!!
I’ve been going through a lot, and watching this scene helps me realize that can overcome anything.
When sandman is cured in no way home, this song playing HIT HARD. Excellent nostalgia and homage paying element to the original Spider-Man
They nailed it
Sandman was ruined in NWH
Danny Elfman's score makes this ending epic !
2:34 Oof I felt that now that I'm older and as someone in that position multiple times it hurts. Poor MJ.
I faced this exactly now
Why did he say that to her?
@@TheProtagonist2020 Because he didn't want to put her in harm's way.
Friendzone your crush, then walk away like a chad... I somehow can relate...
The only spiderman who produces organic webs and throws nets into the sky. This guy's a goat.
It always bothered me in the comics the web isn't organic.
Pretty much any Spider-Man film has that
Classic scene ever
This is now the first ever MCU movie
Peter rejects MJ to protect her. The guys that get it, get it. The guys that don't, don't.
This scene always makes me cry. These movies are masterpieces
Me too
Absolutely right it will be always a masterpiece xxx ❤️
This is what real spiderman movie not shit nowadays
Cry about it
What?
MCU Spider-Man doesn’t need to be Like this every Spider-Man characters in live action are genius and smart learn.
Peter did the right thing here. Even if he does a complete 180 into the next movie
It wasn’t so much he did a 180, it’s that MJ finally learned he was Spider-Man, and wanted to be with him, even if it was a risk. He respected her enough to let her make that choice.
greatest Spider-Man of them all glad to say I grew up watching this Spider-Man as a little kid
Man I am from nepal an asian country but still Tobey's spiderman made my childhood awesome this scene made me cry and made me realise u will have to make a lot of sacrifices in life because with great power comes great responsibility 😢❤
She threw herself at him and he had to say no. I was so heartbroken 💔
Toby macquire is the best spiderman
Omg this ending is just perfection this is Spider-Man straight out of the comics not some annoying stupid wannabe avenger in high school, not a cool kid on a skate board na this is what Spider-Man is nuff said I need Spider-Man 4
“Annoying stupid wannabe avenger” isn’t even close to doing Tom Holland’s Spiderman justice
Tht background music was leaked from the new no-way-home track list. I think that’s the most solid evidence yet
Yea
no marvel movie music can come close to this theme
Back then the spiderman swinging in the end was like the coolest thing ever with American flag at the end. It looks a bit cheesy now tho. lmao.
This came out not long after 9/11. It was very appropriate for the time.
I remember I almost cried at that part when I first watched it. I was 14 😆
0k weirdo and cringe
Dam so ur like 30 now?💀
@@buffyyyy6173 yes
that’s awesome, i can’t imagine experiencing this movie when it came out lol. i was born in 04’ so i only saw it years later.
Man I crushed hard on Tobey because of these films. Heck, the new one made me fall for him again.
I love this ending
Sucks that the final swing in No Way Home is nowhere as good as this
I’m not a big MCU fan but I actually liked it, the snow, the classic suit, and the promise of a new start was a nice change after years of iron man jr.
@@billymanziel5666 I second that
I don't think it ever will be. It was close though but Sam Raimi struck gold and anyone that gets close will be compared to him to no end
Over 2 decades later, this is still my favorite Final Swing in a Spider-Man movie.
No matter what life holds in store for me, I will..
Miss the part where thats my problem
That video is great lol
That soundtrack is killer
Goosebumps starts at 3:14
As a child I always thought this scene was boring and now as I’m much older it makes me tear up.
3:45 .Am I the only one who hears subtle grunts as Spider-Man climbs the wall?
I like how Peter pushes her away because he know if his enemies found out that would mean more trouble for him Sometimes we have to give the one thing we love the most and this scene is a great example to me I believe this was the first step of being a hero😢😔❤️
Loved every damn scene of Tobey & Kirsten 😍 Wish we could see them in Spiderman 4 again!
The greatest ending in movie history there is so much in this one scene Peter rejects his only love and mj realises Peter is Spider-Man
I like how she realizes she kisses spiderman at the end.
crazy to me that these movies are now canon
I don't think of these movies being canon in the MCU. I think of the MCU being canon in these movies.
i don't wanna sound salty but
tom hollands spider man is NOT a man lmao it's a kid
THIS was spider MAN we went through the roller coaster with
At least the third trilogy fixed Tom Holland's Spidey, plus, if your a comic book Spider Man fan, Tom Holland has the most comic accurate looking face
@@mcstudioproductions3512 the comics? Lmao the comics peter looks like an old dude 😂 tom has a young face
*SPIDERMAN AIN'T NO SIMP.*
Knowing that December 17 is the return of tobey as spiderman has me very exiting 😫🙃
