I feel that if you get pro for both front and rear would be best. Because when it’s time to swap out tires you can simply rotate the inserts front to rear making the product last a bit longer
Good thinking :)
No way, mullet or die 🤘🤘
@@Nickporter17 guess I’m dead then 😔
Nice Jeb, I really appreciate each vid.
Murray Byers same here
great video. I am going to get a set of these, and this review was very helpful
Great video, very informative and you cut the chaff. Subscribed!
+1 for keeping the recyclable packaging too. That is just printed cardboard, which can go straight into the paper bin / container. 2.6 being unusable makes me worry though.
2 years on, how is the rear pro holding up? About to put some new rubber on my carbon rims, so figure these might give a better ride and allow me to hit things harder with more confidence that my rims will make it through.
Does the Rimpact Pro (rear) & Original (front) combination feel very heavy or is it pretty manageable?
Have only ever had one (original) in the rear wheel and nothing in the front so wondering what having both wheels feels like in terms of added weight.
Thanks.
I have seen a couple of reviews about tyre inserts. Except Cushcore, all have been complaining about the noise after a period of time (tyre insert starts banging the tyre). Did you notice that as well?
One big increase in production value would be a stern word with the auto focus of your camera. :). Other than that I believe this is top notch with all the lighting and such. :)
Yeah the auto focus is a right pain, We've had words :)
What tire pressure do you run now? I was running 21 front and 22 rear with no inserts in a 2.5 and 2.4in tire. Should I drop to ~15psi?
I run 22 front and 25 rear, I normaly test it at 5psi less than without inserts and go lower if needed.
I’m thinking of upgrading to a 2.6 on my front wheel and also adding rimpact. What was the internal rim width of your wheel when you said you experienced a wobble when using a 2.6 tire?
I was using a 30mm rim.
@@jedmtb What tire where you using?
Are you using sealant ?
Yes, I use Muc-Off No Puncture Hassle Tubeless Sealant.
I have 2.6” tires. What inserts should I go for?
2.6 have been tricky, I've only had luck with Cush Core's as the sit very tight on the rim, the downside is the cost and fitting them isn't easy without the tool. I'm testing some Tannus tubeless armour which seem good so far but I've only just started using them.
@@jedmtb Yeah I ended up going with the Cush Cores. Thank you!
Drop 5-10psi? That's a lot isn't it?
Depends on the volume of the tyres. I was running 29/30ish in the rear and now run 19/23 depending on where I’m riding.
@@jedmtb ah I see. 19/23 sounds about right. I think your pressures before was just very high.
@@jack91522 It sure was, but it stopped me from destroying rims before I ran inserts.
I hear the rimpact gets kinda loose after a short bit and starts to "float" around the tire...would a 26" rimpact fit on a 27.5" wheel with a bit of gentle stretching..?
