Anybody who knows anything knows how great Steven Tyler is.
I know this was a tribute to Paul McCartney, arguably one of the best songwriters, guitar players, singers of all time… But I can’t help but think how underrated Steven Tyler has always been. Aerosmith is one of the greatest American rock bands and his voice is incomparable. This tribute, and a few others that he’s done on the Kennedy Center s show how freaking talented this man is.

Me, as a DJ in Vienna, never had problems to put on Aerosmith!

i believe he quit smoking quite some time ago because it was affecting his voice and ability to hit the higher notes.

I'd hardly place them in the same category. Paul McCartney is THE living legend in music. Steven Tyler is a rockstar, but also a former junkie whose music career fizzled. They're not even in the same stratosphere.

WOW! this medley by McCartnry is one piece difficult to cover. This is one of Paul's best vocals and composition. And Steven Tyler did a great job! fantastic voice.

I think Oprah should have her ass behind Paul, not his wife. I met Oprah before she decided to try to run our Country... she was Salt of the Earth. Wow, I am really impressed with Tyler's performance. It was toned down to suit the music without losing a bit of energy or soul.

As a little kid growing up I had three favorite bands. Beatles, Aerosmith, Manic Street Preachers. I saw Aerosmith in Vegas. I saw Paul McCartney in Oakland and I saw the Manics in SF. All in an amazing 18 month period.
Steven kicking a** on that medley! I saw PM do it live and this would've been just as good if he had done the complete songs instead of just the highlights. The whole Kennedy Center Honors show was great!
