    I love how you said that Mojave Ghost "Doesn't smell like anything else out there", but as soon as I smelled it the first time I instantly thought "Marc Jacobs - Daisy". That was my ex girlfriend's daily scent. Mojave Ghost is just a more unisex version although it will still be way to fem for many guys.

    Hi there, awesome review, I wonder if you have changed your opinion on this, I know Byredo is HIGH quality but I wonder if this is STILL a great smelling fragrance, something almost everybody will understand and love from the first sniff, something easygoing....I am looking for great smelling stuff which are not challenging like Encre Noire, Montale black oud, and stuff like that...I would have to blind it buy, that why I am asking if it indeed smells great, similar to something else...? thanks a lot

  • @Bapi633
    @Bapi633 Před 7 lety +3

    Dear Manny, great reviews. Thanks a ton. I think the longevity of Bal d'Afrique is less for a EDP- 6 hrs maximum, the sillage is also not great, mostly close to the skin. It's a shame that such a beautiful fragrance comes with such low projection and comparatively less longevity. I haven't tested other four Byredo releases, I'd comment only after I use it.
    Great job, keep it up.

    Hi! Wondering if you can help me, one of my favorite perfumes is discontinued “Belenciaga B. Paris”, so sad. Wondering if you would know another perfume that smells similar. To my nose it opens up fresh and green, as if you walked into the section where they are selling Christmas trees, very fresh sweet pine, even if that’s not in the notes description lol. And it dries down light soft powdery musk. Any suggestions would be awesome! This quarantine time has given me time to look for a new signature scent. Thanks!

      Mojave Ghost lasts the longest for me but that's partially because it's a slightly warmer weather juice, so it won't dissipate as fast.

      Alyssa Medina BdA is also my absolute favorite, such a beautiful and pleasent scent.I received my gipsy water and pulp samples and i have to say, not even close to bda.
      I prefer Pulp over Gypy.

    • @CascadeScents
      @CascadeScents  Před 7 lety +1

      For me and for most people, Mojave Ghost destroys Gypsy Water in the performance department, both in longevity and projection.
      However, if you haven't heard me talk about Gypsy Water before, I personally would choose it over Mojave Ghost, or most other scents for that matter. Gypsy Water is less linear and more interesting to me as far as stages, plus it is more versatile, and it features some of my favourite notes.
      But I'd test either of these in real life and go off of your own analysis, especially when I prefer the consensus lesser performer and you prefer better performers.
      Have fun. =]

      Pulp is a bit of a hit or miss fragrance-for some (~25%) it smells a bit dirty with added rotten fruit , but it works for me.At the same time i HATE BIG TIME Terre d'Hermes for the same reason-smells like pile of rotten oranges to me.

      Good question, brother.
      From what I know, no.
      I haven't heard anything from any of the GTA BYREDO desks though.
      It's been at least a couple months since I've gone out to sniff BYREDOs in real life though.
      M/Mink is still alive and well on any version of BYREDO's official website, so I think it is safe from discontinuation for now.

  • @vindicator75
    @vindicator75 Před 6 lety

    is mojave ghost the biggest crowd pleaser out of them all?

    • @CascadeScents
      @CascadeScents  Před 6 lety +1

      In my experience, yes, because it has a friendlier DNA over Oud Immortel and Baudelaire here, and it has better performance than Bal D'Afrique and Gypsy Water.
      But in case feedback is a main criteria for you, just like any other criteria like performance, scent development, or anything else like that, you have to find out for yourself.
      Especially with Mojave Ghost, because despite my "success" with it, it has garnered mixed results, historically speaking.
      So order a sample or test in-store if you get a chance.
      Hope this helps.

    Hi Manny. Do u think a guy can pull gw off? Is it too faminine?

      Am I not a guy then if it's my number one? Ugh.
      Anyone can pull it off, but stereotypically speaking as far as Western societal standards, it may lean feminine for some.

      Thanks Manny. I just blind bought gypsy water and tambao today. I will come back when I get them.

      Dongchen Han I am not an advocate of blind buying, and if you regret it, that's on you.
      Hope you enjoy them though.
      I like Tam Dao too, myself, =]

      CascadeScents Hi Manny. I just receive Gypsy water 2 hour ago. I sprayed on paper and tested it. I've been keeping sniff for hours. I definitely love it. I do feel bit faminine though, but is not too much for me as a asian guy. So unique scent ever smelled. Thanks for your videos.
      Have good day.

    BOOOOOO GYPSY WATER IS TOO WATERY! Lolz. Jk man. Good take on the house of Byredo. I own BdA (currently selling decants), but I have sampled every other Byredo. I guess I'm into bolder fragrances, because these don't cut it on my dry highlander skin. What sucks is they do smell really nice on paper. Le sigh. C'est la vie.

      Hey brother!
      For me, less is more to a certain extent because I don't want my fragrances to "shout" too much.
      BYREDO is also super-artistic and modern, and I'd like to think I am too to a certain degree, so I guess that is part of why I like them so much, haha.
      Real talk though, G-Water is watery and lemony AF off of paper. On my skin though, I get several stages and each of them are breathtaking for me.
      To each their own though. :P

      R W knows! Yeah, it's a compliment-grabber for me too if it is radiating off of my skin, otherwise it's average in that department.
      Great light, safe scent with so many layers though! #Godlike

    Bal D'Afrique smells more like a woman's scent to me. I loved it on my girlfriend, however the longevity was too poor for it to be worth the higher price point.

    • @CascadeScents
      @CascadeScents  Před 7 lety

      That's fair. Love the scent for myself and a woman, but if the performance you get from it is a deal-breaker at its price point, I get that too.
