    Hey Weavers, in this episode we will be learning how to make a quick release paracord handle wrap. This wrap looks great and is easy to accomplish. It's a great way to store some paracord on a bag or handle so that it's easily and quickly accessible.
    I learned this method from my colleagues over at Paracord Planet, you can check out their video here: • Quick Release Paracord... .

    There is just one little discrepancy.
    As a skydiver from long, long ago (I learned jumping the old para-comander round canopy). Nevertheless, at the end of the video he says "The way a skydiver would deploy their parachute." Actually that's the way a parachutist would cut-away a bad chute to then deploy their reserve parachute.
    I almost didn't mention it - but then I remembered that comments raise the algorithm CZcams uses to rate videos, and hey this video deserves a very good rating!

    This reminds me of a trick I learned when I was picking up how to lace wires/cables from a transcription of a VERY old US Navy manual. Specifically, when the first knot is tied to bundle the wires into a harness, the free end is pulled under the whipping using either an initial bend or loop as you've done for this wrap, OR with another piece of cord/tape. This ensures that the free end of the knot isn't frayed.

      It will definitely depend on the width, length, amd thickness of the strap you are wrapping it around. This is definitely a great technique, I’ve experimented with a similar technique that uses pretty much the same method only with two pieces of paracord as a pose to one, you were always left with an annoying second piece after deployment. This technique is far better though, thanks for the great video Tim! Keep up the great work.

    What is this used for? It's a cool knot, but I'm lost as to what to "deploy" using this...

      It's just a piece of rope... if you need to tie something on the fly

    • @heatshield
      @heatshield Před 3 lety +7

      Pretty useful for a lot of things.
      Break a shoelace or need to secure something quickly while hiking, you don't want to lose momentum and daylight digging through a tightly stuffed pack looking for a tiny coil of rope and trying to get it all back in for twenty minutes.
      Boating. Fishing. Hunting. Camping. Climbing. Flying. Walking with limited time like to a bus or class. Sometimes you just need it now.

      You can make it into an armband and just have a nice looking thing that might be useful at some point. I had to use mine only once but was pretty happy i had it with me, even if i just liked it as sort of fancy armband

      You're deploying the paracord itself. Look at some survival hacks: many need some sort of rope
