Did anyone else have a flashback to when 1Rod swam out to the cement block trying to get a lure when you saw the beginning scene?

Final update: this little reel is the little engine that could czcams.com/users/postUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e . It performed flawlessly and was easy to adjust drag in the moment while I was battling a 35lb bat ray behemoth. Mind you, this reel is spooled with only 25 lb braid and 25 mono topshot. It's paired with the kastking telescopic heavy power rod and the two work well together. This has now earned my respect and confidence when traveling and fishing. If you have ever hooked into large rays and sharks, you know they pull extremely hard and can run forever! This thing clamped down on the fish and was easy to adjust during the fight. It has a nice decently fast retrieve as well. Twice the fish went on mad runs and I was able to gain back line quickly to avoid spooling.

I have a lake that the fishing used to amazing years ago , but then it stoped. Around June, July this year it started up again then the apartment complex next to me tared there streets and they dumped there left over tar in the lake. Then that killed all the bass and cichlids. It was devastating.
Was fishing last Tuesday and hooked a pounder using a square billed crank-bait. As I was getting it close to the shore, for some reason I started screaming "Get in the boat!" LOL! Don't know why, it just happened. Thanks for the vids!

I will go for the "drop dead ned", which uses a nerd rig as a weight for a drop shot. Just make sure to use 10lb+ line for it. Different color patterns on the drop shot hook and nerd rig work better.

If you are bass fishing from the bank, when they try to jump, just put the rod tip in the water. It stops them every time from jumping

There is a jetty I went to (with rocks) and I saw a striper feeding frenzy (much smaller than the one in your video, lol) but they were jumping only one to two feet from where I was standing. I had already gotten two swimbaits snagged on the rocks so I didn't use them... Any tips? Btw the people who fish there usually use swimbaits, and this was in Northern California. Thanks.

My Husband Almost died Fishing 25 September 2021.He bended to cut reeds to get to the water the knife snapped and he slit his femoral Artery. He was alone and knew his time was running out. He started to walk slowly to nearby campers and they saved his life. He is a Big fan of this channel and watches it constantly. Please would you mention his name in one video Juane Gibson from South Africa. Tell him to be more careful his family needs him. I would so much appreciate this. Mike, I’ve bought a variation of that Googan swim bait and the vibration it gives off is insane. I’ve had everything hit that down here including large bluegill and Tilapia. I’m going to try it in saltwater soon
I've been slayin with a white/chartreuse spinner bait and a white paddle tail trailer. 21 inch 5 pounder out here in Mass when nothing else was working just the other day!

Caught a nice trout (and a bunch of blues) under the trees to the left of where you started on the dam. Total surprise. On live worm. That's almost all I fish with. Never much success with lures. I just like watching bobber action.

yo Mike i be throwing a spinnerbait preferably a white or white and pink spinnerbait with a colorado blade but slow retrieving it to make it easier to put off viberations.
4-5 years ago I enjoyed Centennial Lake. I'd catch nice bluegills, crappies, and 2-pound bass. Not anymore. Seems like the place is fished out.

Nice centennial can be a really tough place to fish I've only caught trout and crappie out of there
Can't go wrong with fishing a weight less 5 inch senko if it's a tough lake to fish !!
And that's why you fish a lipless crankbait in the fall !!! You never know what is going to bang on that lure....but they are a legit bass slayers !!!!

I went back to look for that video where the lake was drained to try and find that stump field
Use a 10" Mondo Worm (Red Bug) Texas Rig with 3/16 worm weight. My go-to when its tough there and the surrounding lakes.
