No ef86! I just turned two Roberts reel to reel amps into. Ac-4’s. They have the exact same tubes other than a 6x4. It has the ef86 and 12 aD 7 so I was able to include the Bias Tremolo with added depth control. It works great! Those Roberts make great mini single ended 18 watt (5 watt)platforms as well. They work fantastic with a VVR!
Very cool. Yeah no ef86 which I was kind surprised because previously I was under the assumption it was an AC-4 style amp, which it is just not the version with an ef86.
I have two of these. You don't want to run any JMI amp over 110v!. Derek Underdown, who was Dick Denny's boss told me this! Mains tranny doesn't like anything over 110V.
@@ChesapeakeRepair I got my first one about 15 years ago from my friend Jim Elyea who wrote the "Vox Amps: The JMI Years" I helped him alot with that book! It's 864 pages.. The the newer one I got from a place in U.K. called "The Music Locker" and it's real clean and covered in that lovely grey Rexiene. My `64 AC30 has the same covering. My AC30 dates from august of `64. I'll have to check the date codes on the Domino, but I know the grey covering was used from March `64 till Oct. `64
New to the channel.
Cheers from Texas!

Cool specimen! Thanks for showing us around the circuit a bit.
There is a proper schematic for this amp and it's listed as an AC-6. AC-4 has an EF-86.

Wow two! Cool.

How big are both the chassis and cabinet on it if it is okay to ask?
This is not AC4 at all. AC4 has single input pentode EF86. Domino has double triode ECC83 in preamp section. This makes huge difference.
There are different types of AC4 circuits.
