If you're watching this and are on the fence about taking the courses mentioned in the video, do it. It's a drop in the bucket financially and will earn you some peace of mind. Think of it as hiring a personal trainer. You can go to the gym 5 days a week but a true athlete seeks out the advice of trainers and experts to improve. Every 2 - 5% advantage MATTERS.
Thanks, Zach. That's exactly how we feel too. Law school feels like a game where no one gives you the rules. It is always going to require hard work and practice, but good guidance is essential -- just like a good personal trainer. (Lebron James, Tiger Woods, Michael Phelps -- all have personal trainers to provide objective criticism, strategies, and motivation). We do the same thing. That's why we combined the best of Getting to Maybe, LEEWs, and Law School Confidential, and many others to provide the guidance and strategies that law schools and professors will never provide. For new law students, you can learn more at www.legaleagleprep.com/masterclass
LegalEagle Just to clarify, I meant getting a new tablet each month due to tossing it out the window in frustration haha. A book can take the beating! :)
LOL. I lit my books on fire when I graduated. I guess we'll agree to disagree.
I think a tablet is your best bet... a stone tablet!
I know this is 6 years later, but that lifting comparison is dubious. I am not really questioning the principle, but at least in the gym, people who hire personal trainers never make it far. Only novices and maybe in some cases intermediates need coaches/trainers.
My only preparation so far: watching this guys videos 😭😭
sammmeee💀🙌🏻
Same bro
Me rn
lol!!!!!!!!!
Nigga i dont know what I want to be in college my only hope is this man
I just got out of a toxic relationship the day that I got my first acceptance to law school. Thank you for adding the tidbit about personal relationships - unnecessary stress while in law school is not needed.
That's terrible
Law school was definitely an interesting time in my life. I regretfully have to admit that it was sad, but 2 students during my 1L year committed suicide. Law school is not for everyone. Really take to heart your mental health and gauge yourself. If you are in law school, pay attention to yourself and definitely seek help if you are starting to get weary.
will watching "Legally Blonde" help me prepare for law school?
Sadly, no. Watch the Paper Chase instead.
LegalEagle Why not? This way you can know what to do and what to expect...
Because you would not learn what to do or expect from a movie that is not representative of what would actually take place.
Yes it is
no, but it if you dont get your life together watching movies will get you a meaningless and emty life.
Starting 1L in a couple of weeks. Surprisingly haven't heard some of these tips before. Great video.
Thanks, Emiliano! Law school is graded on a curve, so you have to be different to get A's. That's what we're all about.
How did you do, assuming you’ve finished law school as you commented 3 years ago?😂😂
Did u graduate? If so what are you doing now
Did my first practice LSAT, and it was obvious that test prep courses are essential to mastering a strategy to test taking
I just got into law school. I’m watching this during my break before reading another chapter, and I feel lucky that most of these don’t apply to me lmao. I’m studying in my home town, I live nearby the campus. I don’t have to get a job or pay rent bc I’m staying with my parents while studying etc. However, I definitely feel the stress of lacking experience and knowledge when it comes to understanding cases and laws. Some of the books are fairly difficult to read, and I have a learning disability which doesn’t really help:)
I love that you mention taking care of your health !
Hi! I have been watching your chanel since the first video and i really like it, but i want to give you a request: it would be great to have some videos focused on how to prepare for the life after graduation, talking about law firms, what you can do to enhance your curriculum and stuff like that. I have seen you focus a lot on people that are going to law school, so maybe this kind of videos will expand your public.
Thanks for the ideas! We're actually working on some videos related to OCI and interviewing with firms right now.
We need more videos like these to demystify the law school experience. I am a recent law graduate and I too give advice to students interested in attending law school. Keep up the good work!
Thanks! I'm checking out your channel now!!
me: has no connection to law whatsover. also me: binge-watches video about law school preparation and exams
I'm near graduation in my undergrad and have been debating law school since I was really young (I'll admit to the Elle Woods draw in, but trust me when I say I believe I could really be successful in this career and so does anyone else I tell about it and several of my undergraduate professors, including one who is a lawyer). I just found your CZcams channel starting with some of the reaction videos to popular movies, and I am...completely psyched and grateful for your content. I'm still some years away because I haven't even begun researching law schools or preparing for the LSATs yet, but thank you for all the information that will be so, so incredibly helpful in my decisions and possible studies and reaching this goal.
OMG, this is actually good advice. Most of the advice on the internet is vague and tries to be too deep, lawyers tell it like it is and that attitude is so refreshing to me. They actually want to help.
it's a sad fact most relationship breaks up during law school :(
Most relationships break up in general.
Deal with your health is such a good advice! I went to the doctor a while ago and turns out I am severely anemic. I'm taking iron supplements atm, we'll see if it works or not at my next check up.
Girlfriend: why are you leaving me?
Me: I need to prepare for law school
🤣
I just started following your channel and I like your videos. I am starting Law School in Mexico in the best university of this country. I like the recommendations you give us, make me want to keep studying and learning new topics.
You should do a Corona version of this bc its just students and their laptops against the world 👁 👄 👁
Law school in a year and a half! Thank you for the tips!!!
This will be very useful as I intend starting my law journey very soon. Thanks Bruv.
It's been 6 years. Im kinda interested in how you've progressed. Did you actually commit to a career in law? Feel free to answer because these types of comments always make me curious.
Your videos are really helpful! I’m going to enroll in law school next year and I wanna make sure that I’m prepared as I can be and your videos do just that, thanks!
really wish i had seen this before my time in law school! great tips :)
I wish I found this before my 1L 😭 this guy is so helpful
Hi. I just completed my llb now i will be preparing for llm. Omg! These tips were exactly what I was looking for. Thanks a lot. You're videos are amazing.
Thanks for watching!
I am honestly so grateful that LegalEagle did all of this.
I am loving this as I am planning to go into it in Nigeria.
Good luck! Let me know how it goes!
My man made a reference to a 1993 PC game - Mario teaches typing- classic.
one of my friends who was in law school said that the reading was less than in our undergrad philosophy track. well alright guess the worst part of my career wont be so bad! and the actual career will be a-ok! phil majors!
i would recommend a laptop with a big screen. i base this recommendation off of taking undergrad law classes haha. i'm always going back and forth between a word doc and the text book or whatever text of reference. i've also work in an office before and i was always flipping through programs to get the job done.
How about reviewing “The Paper Chase” which centers on a law school student
figuring out how his professor thinks!
That’s what I liked about it, anyway. I can really recall doing that, figuring out
how they thought...and when you know how they think, well, you’re definitely
putting yourself in an excellent position. Even more exciting when you like it!
#Mastery
Woah...@7:36, you mentioned the Movie that I’m begging you to review: The Paper Chase 🌹
Subversively Surreal yes I watched. So good.
Your videos are really well produced and I'm really loving the content. I will start my brazilian law scholl tomorrow. I wish you to continue this channel!
Love it! Good luck! Let me know if my strategies apply to Brazilian law school (I bet some of them do).
for typing, I learned when I was a kid using a game called MasterType - wizards and planets, but it taught well, and I've been a fast and correct typist since my teens because of it. You can find it online I believe if you want to try it.
Thank you for entirely nee and yet important tips! Watched tons of videos, but these tips are a lot better than the other, always repetitive ones
very informative and helpful! Thanks for your help! I hope you keep making productive videos like these. You've got my support !
Thank you for your video. It is very informative to us aspiring to take Law.
Mario Teaches Typing! That's what I used.
It did the job...;)
I’m a non traditional student who will be returning to law school soon after having been out of school 15 years. The law school I’ll be attending has a part-time program geared towards older students. As a non-traditional student, how should I prepare?
I Love how he makes a reference to Mario Teaches Typing
I just finished L1 and completely agree with all these tips!
Nice. Where at?
4 years later and now we have incredible text to speech options and way more audio books allowing you to study on your commute. Commute if it means saving thousands. Or just study in the library until rush hour is over lol
I’m only in high school but I’m very confident I’m going to be a lawyer
how’d that go
My major is legal studies which at my college actually gets you your certificate to practice as a paralegal. In your professional opinion would taking a year or two before law school to practice as a paralegal A. Decrease the financial instability and high cost of law school and B. Increase my chances of getting into a better law school?
i think i wanna be a lawyer but i’m not 100% sure is that normal or is it something that you’re just supposed to know that you want to do
Love your channel!
This was so helpful, thanks so much x
Glad to hear it. Good luck!
Tips for the typing part
Buy a mechanical keyboard that you can use in class but learn on what sound each switch color does because some mechanical switches for keyboards aare really noisy like the blue ones but if you use non noisy ones like the blacks it can help you type faster really effeciently.
Hahahahaha yep.
3:03 I'm betting you have history with those.
One doesn’t simply prepare to go to law school. It’s either sink or swim. Rest is for the weak
LegalEagle can you please make a video for advice on how to get into berkeley law?
Thank you for the advances I'm still in high school but from now I will start prepar
Dude, enjoy life. You've got about 6 years before you need to worry about law school.
I’m just a relatively well read middle age dude who never went to law school. And all of the above suggestions are spot on, but if you’d ask me…and I realize that you didn’t…I’d read and summarize the Declaration, The Constitution, The Federalist Papers, The Leviathan, Lock’s Second Treaty.. and On Toleration, refresh your American History by reading Paul Johnson’s America. I’d did. all this between Uber riders.
I've just watched this a second time and realized you're left handed haha. Thanks for the this. Gotta prepare.
Here in Europe you can study while commuting since we take public transportation
can you make a video on advice/tips for high school students that are trying to go to law school when they graduate?
There's something discouraging about attending classes online with this coronavirus going on, exams are coming up.. it's so stressful. Regardless, if I had to pick again, I'd still choose law school any day!
100 wpms???
Nitro type is super fun for getting faster at typing
Thanks for the tip!
Thank you so much for this video!
I'm still in highschool and I'm planning to go to law school but I'm kinda scared if I can survive there. Anyway thanks for the tips I could use these in the future if I really pursue law.
Thank you for your video it's help me I need more
Where did you go to law school?
Thank you for the advice! Subscribing for sure.
Hey Eric, I give advice on becoming a straight A law student because I was one. I don't know if this lawyer was tbh.
I'm currently on the fence on whether to rent an apartment...if I get into my top school it's a 40 minute commute into the city but I can live with my parents and save possibly 40k in 3 years on housing and food...but at the same time I would lose an hour and a half each day just driving, and I also wouldn't want to live at home again for 3 years straight.....
2 days out from moving to law school. I dont feel ready
I’m stressing about about how I will pay for law school but I’m not giving up being a lawyer is my dream.
Being a lawyer usually pays for law school. Student loans get you to that point.
your web site has a typo: "For the past ten years, I've practice civil litigation in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, and Washington DC."
0:55 HAH i Live 50 miles to 2 of my favourite Law schools.
I saw him play Jim, on The Office. 😃

Yes yes your are right a about everything a agree on it's
On my off days I'm still studying 2-4 house a day. Is that enough. Days with 1 class it's 8 hours of work. Am I slacking?
You should really be sent to students by tutors pre-university cus u send real good tips
If your looking for a good printer the Epson Eco Tank is awesome.
Do I need to know details about courts and how the system work before starting law school? And if yes, can you recommend best way to do it?
Not really. Everyone pretty much starts at 0.
Im still in my pre-law course and maaaan im ready to drop out lol
Hang in there!
3 months later , how’s it going ?
it's hard

When he says (in the file from the description) you should outline your classes at the start, what does he mean by that?
I thrive with stress c: Work at the ren fair, that is quite a task. But i think im starting with a psych bachelors. Dont need ta worry about a summer job though, i got the ren fest in the sack ☺️
Can you talk about the differences in T14 or not and if it matters?
What do I need to do in my high school year in preparing and getting into law school. ( currently in my junior year, I appreciate for any helpful advice.)
What is your opinion on the show "Suits" which is currently in Prime Video
I’m in
Hi and thanks for the help, can you tell me which law series I should watch
Sure, check this out: www.legaleagleprep.com/masterclass
LegalEagle thank you
Anyone know if there is a video to get myself in gear like what is stopping me or how to begin from where I am? Thanks!
3 hours a day of transportation for law classes : can you read your case briefs during such ?
Hey, so I'm working on an associate's degree to transfer in History because, well, I like history a ton and apparently that's a degree you can have to go into law school?
Anyways, my primary plan is so be a teacher, but I've taken some courses on law and I've enjoyed them IMMENSELY, especially since it's so applicable to real life
I'm hoping to make it into SDSU to be a teacher, but if I were to ever change my mind or even possibly pursue both for whatever reason, what would you recommend?
can you live on campus if you're going to law school?
I can’t wait for law school
im only 13 and thinking about becoming a criminal prosecution lawyer, how should i get myself familiar with the law?
I’ve started and got my books late, have a sucky laptop, and feel very behind in school.. is there any way to still succeed ?
I love your videos,I've been searching everywhere for some kind of videos which are related to law.The one thing which I am little bit confused about is what's the difference between attorney vs barrister vs prosecutor?
"Attorney" is the general category (synonymous with "lawyer"). "Prosecutor" means the lawyer who represents the state against criminal defendants. "Barrister" v. "solicitor" is a distinction we don't have in the United States. My understanding is that in the UK, a barrister is the highest level of lawyer who handles in-court proceedings (known for wearing a wig and gown in court).
LegalEagle thank you soo much
Very interesting how the legal systems are different! In NZ and AU do professors give issue spotting/hypo exams? Do they use the Socratic Method in class?
That’s what I want to be “barrister”
Pelumi Azeez sir barrister Selmy?
Watched the paper chase cause of this guy.i went from feeling reasonable smart to banging my coffee table realizing i was in fact a cave man.
does anyone know if legaleagle offers help towards Canadian law schools? or are they US only
