  • The Parables: "The Cost of Following Jesus" from Luke 14:25-33 by Bob Wade.
Following Jesus isn't just about getting a ticket into heaven. He calls us to give our lives to Him in obedience - to follow His lead and live a life of loving sacrifice at home, at work, at school or wherever He leads. Are you ready to count the cost of following Jesus?
At Highlands, our mission is simple: Love God. Love people. Make disciples. On Sundays, we worship God through song and prayer, study the Bible, and learn how to apply it to our lives. Our vision is to help everyone take their next step toward Jesus Christ, help families grow in faith together, and actively serve our community.
We have fun and dynamic programs for kids, students, and individuals with special needs, and adult small groups for every age and stage of life. There's a place for you and your family at Highlands!
We're located at 9050 East Pinnacle Peak Rd, and our service times are Thursdays at 6:45pm and Sundays at 9:00 and 10:45 am. For more info, visit highlandschurc....

Following Jesus costs us. If you want to be a follower of Christ, count the cost. You have to be willing to die to self, crucify the flesh and not conform to the patterns of this world. Then, pursue holiness, righteousness, and peace with all men. Forsake all else, follow Christ.

I like how you preached I've been having problems with my family but my sister and my uncle and stuff I may a mistake when I send and got in trouble with the law but they no longer want to be a part of my life they're not safe they do not follow Jesus but I do but I Found Jesus when I was in prison but I think it was God's plan set me down so that I can find Jesus and know who he is in my life and if my family does not accept me because what I've done to go to prison then so be it hurts my feelings and my heart but I would rather hate them and love and follow Christ

The purpose of taking up one's cross is to crucify your own flesh (carnality) i.e. to submit your own will to that of the Father - die to self daily. Not my will but thine be done Luke 22:42

yes, and that is why God had Christ carry his cross on the way to his crucifixion. It was to show us that we must do so daily and follow him, Jesus.
