- When we choose to follow Christ, it is a matter of the heart that requires a total shift in thoughts and actions. Billy Graham explains more in this 1983 message from Orlando, Florida.
The cost of following Christ is so high that it demands even your whole life to be surrendered to Him. But after all of this, it will be worth it.
Amen. It is very costly. But worth the cost. The alternative is total emptiness, vanity, self-destruction , judgement, hell and ultimately the lake of fire for eternity.

My Grandma use to listen to Billy Graham when I was a little boy and I didn’t understand the significance of his preaching…. So as a man of 68 I now listen to him and I’m floored at how powerful his preaching really is. I’m always seeking God and yes I repent and yes I’m not perfect as I will sin again but the difference is the Holy Spirit will speak to me when I’m tempted and so I will turn from sin….God Bless Everyone 😊

Sadly most preachers don't preach like this anymore, a lot but not all of today's preaching seems "watered down" and it make it hard for people to actually get saved...

Saturday November25th 2023. I listen to one or two, sometimes more of Billie Graham's sermons daily. even though he's been gone awhile, his messages are still very powerful!! He's always been one of my favorite speakers!
Its only now Im starting to see the wisdom in this. I've only been a christian for about 5 years and for the first 4 of those I kept my head down and didnt much tell anyone I'd become a christian. But in the last year I've spoken up and fought for God. The push back has been intense. I can see clearly that satan is the "god" of this world. I'll fight the fight and run the race all the way to the end.
May the Lord give you wisdom and strength to be as innocent as a dove and as wise as a serpent. Go well

So far I have not seen a cost, let alone a high cost to following my Lord. I am in this world, not of this world so the opinions of the world don't impress me much. I turned my back on Him for a time but returned. I will not deny him again! This world can do nothing to me because they can not offer anything close to what He has promised me!If they kill me, I win. If they persecute me, I win. If they leave me alone, I win. Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things. Psalm 24:1 says, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it”. Therefore, it holds then that everything that happens in heaven or on earth is subject to God’s commands.

He gives EVERY HUMAN BEING a map of the way to behave on this planet, then it is everyone's choice to do good or bad. Not God's choice. Just the 10 commandments is a huge map of behaving in everyday life, if everyone followed the Commandments, life on this planet would be so different and so much better, but they choose not to follow the ways of the Lord. Ask yourself before you do anything in life. WWJD = WHAT WOULD JESUS DO?
For us to be true Christians and not just playing church, we need Christ as Saviour AND Lord. He is not only the Saviour of our souls but Lord of our lives.

Jesus Christ Himself said that we should pray for forgiveness. He would not have said that if forgiveness was not possible.
I believe that forgiveness is possible. Keep praying. May the Lord have Mercy on us all.
He was preaching this in 1983 I was 18 years old how I wished I had heard this. I did not know him nor heard anything about the gospel so I had a hell of life now, I see why.

Living life without Jesus is not worth it. God's commandments protect us from destruction. We need wisdom and guidance and God always provides that when we put Him first in our lives. Repenting of our sins is admitting that we need guidance in the life, we dont know everything but disobeying God's commandments is being foolish and prideful, like rejecting a map that will guide you where you need to go. Most people will listen to friends, stock brokers, teachers before we seek God and that is the worst thing we can do. God created this world and He created everything in it including us so He loves us so much that He gave us His most wise commandments and He also gave His only son Jesus to come to this world, suffer because He could have just been in heaven, and die for our sins. God loves us and all we have to is turn to Him, confess our sins, and dont sin anymore. Life goes by so fast, look at all the people in the crowd this was 1983 wow many of those people are gone. How long will life last? Definitely not 1000 years so it is foolish to disobey God and be prideful and put our trust in anything in this world because it will all be gone so it is practically worthless. Obey God's commandments, repent of your sins, and you will spend eternity in heaven with God. God bless you all in Jesus' holy name!!!!!

There is no high cost or cost for following Christ. My life is thousands of times better with some annoyances here and there but a life full of hope and true joy is never a high cost. Christ already paid for me. Life is "narrow" but full of grace.
If the same Christ, whom you claim, says there is a cost, and you say there is no cost, then shouldn't you reconsider what you're saying?
@@infinityinfinityinfi I think the hard cost is for someone who is prideful and self serving to truly deny oneself and follow God than self. We as humans are weak willed and see temporary pleasures more "filling" than denying ourselves and following God. Because denying yourself for a God you cannot see is quite illogical in a human eye
I must sincerely disagree with you. To deny the person you most love (yourself) is a very expensive cost. It is in our nature to be selfish. There is indeed a high cost following Christ.

Yes, the LORD demands our total commitment so that He could live through our life to His glory and honor.
This is hard stuff. I'm glad Billy Graham didn't sugarcoat the gospel like many "prosperity" preachers do today. The same things he preached about in 1983 affect me and others deeply in 2021.
If you've ever been to the 'Stations of the Cross' in a Catholic Church, you know during Lent, how Jesus' sufferings, crucifixtion, death, resurrection and ascension is brought to life. There's not a dry eye to be found. It is very powerful, as you move from station to station, seeing what Christ did for us, being savagely bludgeoned, as He carried His own cross to Calvary, was nailed to the cross, suffered horribly, then succumbed, thinking His Father had forsaken Him. He willingly suffered and died for us so that our sins would be forgiven and that we could spend eternity with Him in heaven. He is our Father and we are all His children, but look at the mess we're in right now. How disappointed He must be, but all we have to do is ask Him for forgiveness for our sins. He is always close by us just waiting for us to reach out.
I wished I lived in his Era and died. Now I’d have been with Jesus Christ in the Heaven instead of going thru the present kind of world.

I still don't get why he'd want my heart. It's so scarred up, from just wandering through this life too kind, too nice, too humble. I got taken advantage of and abused so much that I am surprised I have the ability to keep going.
And yet Jesus loves you and has chosen you. Our Lord was abused, beaten, despised, rejected in ways I can't even imagine. He is with you in your suffering and loves you immeasurably. Don't let the evil one and those who do his bidding convince you that God doesn't love you. It's hard to believe when we suffer. But give it to God. Give it all to Jesus. I'll be praying for your strength and healing.
But you are still going. You've obviously got a good heart and you will get your just rewards! Keep the faith and keep praying, it works. Tc and God bless you x

I knew the stories about christ but I never really knew what it meant to give your life to Christ in 2021 I was baptized and a few months before that I was saved Jesus is coming for his people I pray that before that day you are saved and I pray for those who don't I pray for their souls and yours too amen
There is a price to be paid to follow Christ, yet so many christians hope and pray that they are caught away before any hardship, tribulation occurs, they dont want to pay the cost.

It's interesting to see that there's truly nothing new under the sun. The same problems they were struggling with at that time are the same issues we have today
When we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and we believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, we become a believer. But it's only when we read and study the Bible, confess and repent/turn from our sins to the absolute best of our ability, and enter into serious daily prayer [conversation with God] only then are we saved. Jesus himself said, "only those who do the will of my father shall be saved." Believing in Jesus is not enough. A one-on-one personal and active relationship is what's required. So many churches today fail to stress this point. So many Sunday morning Christians are in for a rude awakening. Jesus said to the self-proclaimed Christians at the gate, "Go away, I never knew you." We all know Jesus but does Jesus know you? Salvation is a free gift but only to those who have built or are in the process of building a personal and intimate one-on-one relationship with him. Don't be fooled. It's hard work to be a true Christian but his reward is both immediate and eternal. Thank you Jesus.

Lets stop talking about Billy and talk about God’s power through him. It is not the man who change the world but God who changes the world through the people that give their lives to Him. God is good. Lets ask God for more people given to the Gospel and not only ask for it but be it.
God knew I needed this, he answers our prayers at the right time. I prayed to God crying because people try to put me down. I realized were not here to please man we're here to please God & called to GOD'S Purpose ✝️😊💯🙏❤️ They hated my JESUS first so they will hate me also. Scripture says anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of GOD✝️

Watching this preaching in a moment when churches here in Brazil are closed because of the pandemic crisis. My heart is broken seeing this great public audience and the memories I have from the crusades and churches services I went and made part of. I believe that, bit by bit, we're walking toward those days in which our freedom to worship God whether in the churches or public places will reduce a lot. God is warning us about the importance of seeking for Him while we still have time, in the day we call "today." Unfortunately, today is too late for a lot of people not only here in Brazil but all over the world who didn't accept Christ as their Savior, and now are passing away due to Covid. May our God, The Almighty One, and our Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on us and help us enjoy and rejoice in his presence for the next days or years that we still have.
Come Lord Jesus, surely the day must be near!
