Priceless. in defense of Nicodemus, how many of us would have gone? it is plain to see how much he loved Christ.

Christ even tells us to NOT even stop to bury our dead . We are to drop all and follow him . Being a Christian is no walk in the park . HOW ABOUT THE ONE THAT TELLS US ALSO THAT WE ARE TO FORSAKE MOTHER AND FATHER TO FOLLOW HIM . Its easy to follow Jesus when you have nothing to lose . Is it any wonder the Gospel of Christ appealed to the poor , the needy and the forsaken . These were the people that had nothing , they were the sick , and the downtrodden and the dispirited and they were promised so much . It isn't difficult for me to see why many people are atheists today, because those promises have little to do with gain of any sort in this world. Its the promise of "pie in the sky when you die" and it doesn't sound too bankable for many folk these days . I don't think anyone can truly follow Christ without being called by God and sustained by him . I speak of a spiritual sustenance. The disciples knew hunger and cold , floggings and beatings , shipwrecks persecution and early deaths, but they were indeed sustained . As professing Christians we love Christ , we believe in Christ, we call ourselves followers of Christ and we dutifully go to church every Sunday. We even help each other out from time to time, if it isn't too inconvenient. We the Church , the body of Christ I shamefully admit have much to learn . May the Lord give us his wisdom and his strength, and the courage to do as we are asked, regardless of the cost . Help us Lord Jesus.... Amen .

The impact of the scene portraying the most famous conversation in the Bible ( John 3:16 ) is set up by six episodes of backstory and executed by two masterful actors and two masterful composers. A little detail I absolutely love about Jesus in this show is that he gets emotional and starts to tear up whenever he sees others get emotional. Reminds us that God rejoices and weeps along with us, and empathizes with us on a human level. I cried as Nicodemus fell into Jesus’ arms and Jesus rubbed his head. It’s such a fatherly gesture, yet seems so juxtaposed as Nicodemus is the old one and Jesus is young. However, it shows Jesus being in the trinity, 100% man, 100% God. He is our father. ~
This is an amazing insight to the life of Jesus. It shows him as a more down to earth person, laughing and interacting with people and his followers. I’m so glad that I came across this story, it is amazing and life changing.

how many of us are like Nicodemus, he couldn't leave his ways behind even when God was right in front of him and he knew it , but he loved his life too much , he had a high position money , and couldn't give it up not even when Jesus told him to fallow him , instead he tried to pay him off, but you can't buy your way into Heaven .
Perhaps the money Nicodemus offered was just that. An offering, not a payoff. Just his love for Christ. I don't know anyone who would drop everything to follow Jesus, not like they did. But give a group of men enough money for 2 weeks of food and lodging - God does not leave or forsake anyone. We must be careful not to make small what the Lord is accepting of. For which of us has not done what Nicodemus has done in this scene?
@@cpotharst3059 Did you see the scene when he called Mathew, he had everything but his own father disowned him, however he was rich , he lived better than any other Jew because he worker for the Romans collecting taxes, he was gifted in mathematics and he writes down everything he does so he always has a pen and a tablet of paper that he carrys with him, Jesus saw this and called him to fallow him , and he left everything to fallow Jesus. And I believe he chose Mathew because of his gift , he writes down everything he does , so Jesus knew if he fallowed him he would write down everything he does and that is how we got alot of information of what Jesus did on his time here , Mathew wrote alot of the Bible , see even then Jesus was thinking about us , and that's why he chose Mathew because he knew Mathew would not miss anything and he would tell us everything.

I was not brought up in church or with the bible but started going to church in Nov when I had a local pastor come in to check in a visiting pastor at my hotel for a revival and I have been searching and connecting with my lord a savior ever since. Thing I would change is not have Jesus looking down with tears while sitting with Nicodemus ...and He wouldn't have said , "You don't have to do that, What are you doing" to Nicademus when he got on his knees to worship Him.... Bible says EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW BEFORE HIM... even Christ told His disciples that even the ROCKS WILL PRAISE HIM

The pharisees were teachers and lawyers....Sanhedrin another group and temple officials handled the affairs of law business law and domestic law etc...They assigned penance fines sacrifices pronounced edicts like divorce ...They taught school, performed some medical services Brit Milah means literally, the covenant of circumcision and presided over the churches/synagogues. Performed marriages Their positions were both political /legal/spiritual...Knowing this why did Jesus go angry when he entered the temple at his last passover before Crucifixion. As he was at temple why did they cast the freshly divorced woman at his feet and say what would you do smart guy? It was a response to His critical conviction a sarcasm saying what do you do with a person who is guilty? I found his proclamations both insightful and life changing! He did not un-divorce the woman but instead change your habits and sin no more and the accusers departed with out stoning her ... Jesus was arrested and done away with because the church as it existed could not be questioned it was even said better one man should die than rewrite the policies of the law, schools , religious worship etc. Because they failed to recognize their visitation they missed the boat ...After all they did to put the upstart to rest , kill the thoughts and ideas in the message, The God /man rose and so did His church
It is believed and accepted throughout Christian history that Nicodemus was a believer that is one part of the show I do not agree with it's always has been thought he was a secret believer at first but he was there when Christ ascended to heaven
But he never followed Jesus initially that is the point of the scene. We know that Nicodemus knew who Jesus was.....but he was torn on leaving his family. Instead he gave them the ability to go into the world with finances....
hello , speaking like this about the Gospel is not complete .All JESUS's Ministry and HOLY SPIRIT's One , and most of it ,JESUS's sacrifice deep meaning( remission of sins , death of the old nature , burying by baptism , and new creation in CHRIST ) are to be put into the framework of GOD ALMIGHTY' s Everlasting New Covenant for HE IS the LORD OF COVENANTS , to fulfill all the promises and the oathes the LORD made to Abraham , Isaac and Jacob , and even later to David , There is a great lack about this framework .It means that no one can interpret according to himself in flesh .The LORD ALMIGHTY is Spirit .

I appreciate parts of the show, but how do American Protestants continue to brazenly reject the Church, and the church fathers who decided the canon in the 7 ecumenical councils, beginning with Nicea? Then they simultaneously refer to the canon to justify their arguments. In B4> calling me Roman ‘catholic’, The Roman church is the original Protestant church. You can’t just change the creed, you can’t just pick and choose what you like, you follow the true church established by Jesus Christ. The Orthodox Catholic Church.

Her being with the Apostles does not add to or take away from the Biblical message and teaching, as we do not know if she traveled with them or not. Most people assume not, but it doesn't really matter.
We do know that she traveled with them to Jerusalem during the Passion Passover.
If you are referring to Mary of Magdala then she definitely went wherever Jesus went and was a primary disciple, though not one of the 12 apostles.
