EP:241 | Learning from Coyotes with Torry Cook

This week we’re joined in studio by World Champion Coyote caller Torry Cook of Arkansas. Torry, an obsessed hunter, has raised multiple coyote pup litters through the years in order to learn from them. You might wonder if raising pups has made him soft hearted towards them? Trust us, it hasn’t. It was totally a play to get knowledge and use it against them. It’s fascinating to hear him explain what he’s learned and how he applies that knowledge in terms of behavior and understanding vocalizations to improve his game. Torry passes soo much info here that even the newest hunter, all the way up to the most experienced hunter, or any wildlife enthusiasts/biologist could learn soo much from!! This is pure gold as usual for that Arkansas Hardcracker!!
Truly thankful to have had the chance to meet and stay with this man and his family.
Running these summertime shotgun stands exactly how he talks about running them, on his home turf was just a kicker!! 🤙💪

Torry and his wife are great people .
I've followed MFK for last few years . The daytime techniques and information have put coyotes within 10 yds .
Customer service is top notch . Called once to check on an order .
Got so into the conversation about " how you doing today " , that I almost forgot why I called .
Genuinely down to earth , good people .

I had two Maremma's I got from Italy, that protected by chickens (think Great Pyraneese) and they are not the breed to be trained either, as far as commands were. You could keep on and one and sometimes they might get the message here and there, but mostly they will just look at you like " You were serious about that?" But they will protect you and anything in their relational farm family. I had one that would go out at night and kill coyotes on his own
