For those that don’t know, Davies started as a winger but was playing LB when he arrived at Bayern. He’s definitely a better winger than left back. He’s the definition of what a true winger is. Not to many wingers like Davies these days.
I think he’s better as a fullback to be honest because he epitomizes the modern full back with his strength, pace, reading of the game and non stop running
It used to be with that high line, he’d just get Bayern out of any trouble easily. But recently, playing him as a winger makes a lot more sense if we can keep him instead of selling to Madrid
because he had no space on the team as a winger so since he also had defensive capabilities flick back then put him on the left fullback position. yes he made some astonishing runs, saved some situations BUT what many dont understand is that he himself caused a lot of them not necessarily because we were playing a high line ( im a bayern fan ) and he was allowed to involve himself in the attack but because his positional game was horrendous a lot of times .. and thats why i kept telling people to careful with praise. teams tactics also change and opponents will be aware of those issues .. and so it came that later in his second season here his performances started to become worse .. and apparently many, or most fans out there especially online fans, who call themselves football fans but dont even really follow still think davies is good for us but the truth is hes been bad for us for seasons now. he fails to really produce offensively, he fails to get stronger defensively, his positioning is often so bad it really lets us down.. and in defensive actions he also lacks, hes consistantly showing his weaknesses and he didnt improve in the slightest thats why every real fan i know, im from bavaria, says they are fine with davies leaving and us urgently needing another leftback. theo hernandez seems to be interested, that would be a real upgrade. just prior to the game vs real he was allowed to play as a winger for us in bundesliga and was so bad, vs real he didnt do much either except his goal.. but ofc that he gets praise from clueless fans around the world again. this is no hate vs davies i wish he would develop and perform better because hes a great guy with good potential but he couldnt do it over the past years.
