I know that it us current Republican doctrine to regard statistics coming from the FBI as lies. Those statistics contradict the implication here, that crime is on the rise, particularly in large cities that they feel are controlled by Democrats.
So, I would ask where all those Republican eyes and ears are focused that they see and hear something diametrically opposed to what is expressed by the best information available on national crime statistics.
Perhaps Republicans have access to better information than the FBI does? I wish they would share some specifics to support their claims. Who is collecting data that the FBI is missing? Who is tabulating and reporting it? Sorry. Without answers to these questions, their claims are only baseless beliefs or cynical hypocrisy. The controversy generated by expressions of those beliefs is worse than pointless. It is destructive. I wish they would put up or shut up instead of aggressively whipping up outrage over unsupported fantasies. Damn!
