Discover the extraordinary tale of Bertram Sheldrake, a British convert to Islam, who embarked on a remarkable journey to China and found himself at the heart of a unique historical episode, crowned as the "Pickle King of Islamistan."
In the early 20th century, amidst the geopolitical chess game involving the Qing Dynasty, the British Empire, the Ottoman Empire, and the Soviet Union, Sheldrake's life took an unexpected turn.
This video delves into the complex backdrop of rebellion and empire in Xinjiang, where the struggle for independence and identity led the Uyghur people of the First East Turkestan Republic to extend an unusual offer to a British Muslim.
Follow Sheldrake's adventures from London to the heart of Asia, his efforts to support the Muslim community, and the intriguing story of his coronation in Beijing.
Witness how international politics, cultural diplomacy, and personal faith intertwined in the life of a man who sought to bridge worlds but found himself a symbol in the tumultuous history of Xinjiang.

The people of Xinjiang are from India and have a very tense relationship with the Turks of Tibet. They have chosen to form an alliance with China and have been doing so for thousands of years. People in Xinjiang now repay their debts because of their ancestors’ choice. Tibet has also chosen to form an alliance with China for thousands of years. They are all repaying their debts. The Turks made the right choice, and today they are enjoying the dividends of their ancestors

I don't understand, you said the Turks are living well, but why when i travelled to Xinjiang and Tibet, they looked more futuristic and traditional at the same time compared to Turkey. I gotta say, i have to show huge respect to China for preserving old writing and language systems for all ethnic groups. In Mongolia, you no longer see them practicing traditional writing, only using alphabets, while in Inner Mongolia, traditional Mongolian writing are still common, so is the Manchus and Yi people, the government preserved all their languages and launched many universities that teaches individual languages, I wanted to go to those universities in hopes to preserve their language and learn new ones too.

Doesn’t controlling Washington count as controlling the United States? They controlled the capital of Xinjiang. Doesn’t that count as controlling Xinjiang? It’s just because they sided with Britain and they were on the wrong team. Britain was the biggest loser in World War II and lost a lot. Given the status of the United States today, it has been reduced to an ordinary country. If these people had formed an alliance with the Soviet Union, Xinjiang would have become independent long ago. There is no difference between several Central Asian countries and Xinjiang. The only reason why they became independent countries is to form an alliance with the Soviet Union. If they If we form an alliance with Britain, then these countries will not exist today and will be divided between Russia and China.
