"I'm altering the deal. Pray I don't alter it any further."
❤
“This deal is getting worse all the time.”
I've preferred the Skydance merger all along because I don't want to see the company broken up, but you're probably right that this will affect any future offer from Skydance. Stockholders are interested in money, not movies or television content, so they had dollar signs dancing in their eyes when Sony floated the $26 billion figure. This is what they get for being greedy instead of doing what's best for Paramount. I just hope it doesn't have a lasting effect on the work being done by studio creators.
I certainly hope so. Consolidation of all these companies is terrible.
Btw John, Stanley Cups have lead in them
Thank goodness
Paramount really doesn't need to sell they do have lots of options to make money to pay off their debt you really only sell to make a quick buck and bounce. So Skydance could try to save some money but I think that Paramount would have no problem walking away entirely.
They had the chance to bounce back and they blew it every single time.
Good, i don't think everyone wants to see a company buys the other, there used to be the Big Six of Hollywood (Fox, Sony, Disney, WB, Paramount and Universal), now there's five after Disney have bought Fox.
Yet, most of these film companies are owned by non-film studios (unlike Disney owning Fox). It’s also rather ironic how Sony itself (which was just an electronic company for many decades) basically erased Columbia Pictures’ identity. Ey? 😏 I mean I get where you’re coming from but it’s funny to think that two of the biggest film studios like WB & Universal ended up being owned by cable/phone companies. Now while they maintain their status as major film studios, ultimately they themselves were bought by other companies years ago. Just saying
@@Sevensentai6918Whether companies being owned by a phone company, soda company or not, i rather not to have a multiple films being released from a one simple company, how disaster would it be in the future where Disney owned four of them and there be no more competition?
Yeah....no, i don't want that.
@@azozazoz9196 There’s always some double standards. Well I’ll just say… hopefully Paramount doesn’t sell. Seems unlikely but we’ll see
And now it’s possibly going to be four
This buy in his to be lucrative if not this is really going to hurt Sony so they probably looked at the catalog and was like😬
i heard on the vine that Apple was looking in to this also. it could be intresting
I’m truly disappointed with people who think they run the studio and can decide where paramount goes, saying "I don’t want Sony buying Paramount". They have no other options and Skydance has yet to make an offer that would make everyone happy. You’re just the fans, you’re not the studio.
so you're the studio? LOL
@@nervenllarena4948no I’m just saying that I find it funny how people (fans) can just decide where they want the studio to be sold to. It doesn’t matter who buys Paramount but if no one acquires it or merge with it, Paramount’s 112 year run is over, gone, finished.
I am putting the towel down, M&A sometimes sucks 😮💨
Good
i assume they got a look at the books and now understand the debt the studio is in.
Think it is Sony’s negotiation posture. And yes, CEO by committee usually indicates trouble.
Good. Please leave it alone.
I hope that who ever buys it, keeps it as it is- with all of the side properties.
I'm wondering what happens to ninja turtles and star trek. Would those be sold or would they be abonded properties with a defunct company?
Good. Sony should buy Warner Bros and/or Square Enix
Square clearly aren't interested in being locked down to one platform right now
Man, Sony were kinda assholes for making a public offer like that.
The studio that brought you Madame Web……
The sky dance deal did not fall through because of Sony... it fell through because the A share valuation and B share valuation did not meet the requirements of the funds and they threatened to sue. Sheri wanted te red stone deal but it would be stock in litigation with the investing community for decades.
See I told you Nickelodeon won’t shut down due to this
Apple is still eyeing paramount/CBS!
if apple does buy paramount then Paramount plus and Apple tv should merge.
@@john-conner410 most definitely…and Apple News will merge with CBS news. Simon Schuster -Apple Books, paramount games will merge into Apple Arcade and etc….
Apple is in the middle of an antitrust fight with the US government... doubt they're buying a ham sandwich let alone Paramount...
No, my hunch is Apple is waiting out to buy Disney. They don’t want to buy anything for now to avoid any anti-trust issues.
@@TopDrawer_Art it's possible but they already have an antitrust issue. It might not be possible.
someone clean john mike also its got lots of white spots al over it.
Paramount should sell itself to Sony
That’s what they are trying to do
Good, because Paramount needs to be a separate company/studio, they don't need to merge or be part of a another company/studio
It's not worth buying paramount has a lot of bad movies just like Sony has and Disney has more bad movies than the two ai
Technically they can fix both company’s
Sony has no money
Oh they do. Believe me
@@louranzofletcherprods Not as much as Microsoft.
@@3y270 nobody cares about microsoft. This is about sony
@louranzofletcherprods they got 9 billion that's it
@@3y270what streaming platform does Microsoft own?
sonic 3 movie in amy rose today now yes are no 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
I don’t wanna see Paramount go away. We slowly losing studios and people thinking it’s a good thing? We wouldn’t have Flashdance, Footloose, Beverly Hills cop, godfather. Just like losing 20th century. This sucks
The only people that think it’s a good thing are those making money off this. But losing 20th Century? Well they’ve might’ve lost their status as one of the big six, but nothing else has changed. I mean, Disney hasn’t erased them at all. Nay? Well at least they weren’t bought by a cable company as was the case with other major film studios but I guess that’s neither here or there
Only those making profits off this think it’s a good thing. But losing 20th Century? Theyve might lost their status as one of the big six, but nothing else has changed. The Mouse hasn’t erased them at all. Not so? Well I’m glad 20th weren’t bought by a cable/phone company like other major studios were but that’s neither here or there I suppose
20th hasn’t gone anywhere. Yes they lost their status as one of the big 6, but the big ol’ Mouse hasn’t diminished them overall. Not so? Well I’m glad they weren’t bought by a non-film company as it’s been the case with almost every other film studio. Regardless, no one finds this stuff to be a good thing other than those getting richer from selling
Well universe should buy it
Universal can’t buy it unless they divest themselves of NBC.
Nickelodeon will be perfectly fine it won’t shut down
Disney should purchase IP
why dont they runine everything also?
they dont have the liquidity to do it at the moment. But what about Apple?
@@xsvrrxL comment
Sponge bob would be gay Sonic would be pc too 🤣
I hope they back out. Paramount should not have fired Bob Bakish
Please I hope they back out! Sony ruins everything and paramount owns avatar the last airbender
Spiderverse literally overperformed tremendously
@@Roverde nice one movie series lol
@@Roverde they are also responsible for Spiderman 3, venom, madam web, morbius
But you right they got one
@@jordananthony6432 but you said "everything".......
@@Roverde they do
good i'm glad sony is not gonna buy paramount because that merger would've been the 2nd worst merger ever made
That’s not what they are saying.
John is a playstation Pony and is hoping sony buys paramount just to destroy whatever is left of that HALO show 😕
Xbox themselves killed Halo. So no worries
