I purchased two, one went bad quickly. The company had promised a lifetime warranty... but they never answered the phone or email, and I could never get the warranty honored. They've since discontinued most of their tools.
I had a Bosch and it was great but it disappeared. Will this laser give me a distance off of an unpainted piece of plywood or off of a dirt bank?
It works with unpainted plywood
Coolthen it should read off of a dirt Bank as well. I pump concrete and typically those would be my targets a piece of 2 by 4 or a pile of dirt.
It'll measure anything that reflects the laser light. It comes with a reflector to put against something that might not be reflective (like flat black paint).
Thank you 🙏🏽
You're welcome
Would you recommend it for measuring the area of your entire roof? I saw a comment saying it doesn't work well with sun light.
The red laser dot that lets you know where you're aiming is difficult to see with sunlight. That's just the way it is with all lasers unless you get a laser finder. If you point the laser at a darker spot, then you can see it better.
If my buddy was at the other end of the roof holding a dark board for me to aim the laser at, I would use this to measure the roof.
If it was just my on the roof, I wouldn't use this since it's harder to find something to aim at
There are laser rangefinders too, czcams.com/video/JmfoH_xvE_Y/video.html
But rangefinders are not as accurate as these laser distance meters
it's not laser level. The sunlight has little influence on it.
@@crystalyang1329 The sunlight makes drowns out the laser light. The unit can't "see" the laser because of so much other light on bright times of day. I own this model and I can confirm that measurements outdoors are easier to take in the morning or evening.
