Unbelievable Classic Cars Left To Rot At This House Destroyed By Fire Many Years Ago!

  • This was one of those places where you question yourself how is this even possible?... x2 Audi Coupe’s, x3 VW Campers, a super rare Auto Union 1000, Manta GTE and many more all left at the same place just rotting away... now obviously something terrible happened here, sadly I can’t tell you exactly as requested by the current owner but you can clearly see there was a huge fire. He is now in his 80’s and is a massive car enthusiast! He showed me some of his old collection from around 30 years ago and I can honestly say I’ve never met anyone who has had such an incredible collection of very strange, unusual & very rare cars! Sadly none of the cars are for sale and as always the location will Not be shared with anyone. Hope you enjoy the video guys, see you again next week 🙂

Phwoar! The Manta, Alfa and 2 Audi’s were the standout cars for me. Can’t believe they are just sitting there.
Tell Scotto from Hoonigan about those Audi’s and he’ll move heaven and earth to get them out I bet 😂.

The extra keyhole in the MG was an early alarm, the key armed and disarmed the alarm, l had one on my 1970 Triumph Vitesse.

I had one in the early 70s on my 1275 GT Mini Clubman , 1969 model, put there by previous owner at the back of the car. It operated a sort of oscillating arm located in the boot.
This video is v poignant for me, I have just sent my 1995 MGF...a goodish runner till its fail....for scrap because of subframe rot, despite outwardly looking quite good! 'Midships' engine, as these MR2s are described here.....
      There is a circa
1996 N reg wreck here somewhere early in the vid, my MGF was N175AOL......😭😭😭😭😭

That small cabrio in 13:00 seems to be Auto Union 1000 SP - the same mechanic as 1000 S but with "americanized" design and even more rare than 1000 S.
27:58 wheel is from Lancia HPE or Beta Coupe which is probably under the bush, also rare cars.

Auto Union was a group of four companies, (hence the four joined rings) before becoming AUDI.
Escort is a 1.6D, registered 31 March 1988 and last taxed in 1996.
That red Audi registered in 1983 was a Coupe, not a Quattro. The Coupe was made as a cheaper version of the Quattro, without its turbo or permanent 4WD. Although quattro was later added as an option to the Coupe.
RKN 16R is on the DVLA database as "Volkswagen Delivery Van"!
    The Alfa is a 75, registered 1991.

If he’d had any sense after the fire, he would have saved the cars that escaped the fire and scrapped the rest instead of leaving perfectly good cars to rot and get smothered by brambles and weeds. Even all those tools would of been worth loads.

It would make sense that he already had the 1000 sedan. They did sell those in UK, AUS and NZ, so not unusual that it was right hand drive, however the SP coupe is much rarer so LHD.

The Auto Union 1000 S Coupé in the garage certainly looked like it could be saved, maybe the two others in the garage as well (we didn't really see much of them) The Rover looked reasonable too, despite of the slight heat damage, The bottom part of the VW T1 looked pretty rotten, but having been covered, the upper parts may be ok? Possible one or two others that could turn out to be in better condition than expected.
For certain, there are a lot of really rare spare parts that could be salvaged, especially all the stuff in the garage.
It should be possible to learn the history of the place and also who is currently listed owner. It seems to have been an extremely massive fire, so there must have been news reports made at the time. Contacting the local heritage foundation would be a good place to start.
To me it seems to have been the home of a car hoarder, hoping to "one day" be able to restore the cars - the typical way, that hoarders often do: collect a lot of damaged and broken cars, one after another, but never get around to actually fixing them, so they just pile up, creating a big junkyard of broken dreams.
The fire may well have been fatal, and if the owner had no family or just lived like a hermit, nobody has ever bothered to do a cleanup, thinking everything was just "old junk"
Who would inherit the place if there were no next of kin? The state? The county? A bank? Wouldn't it be in the best interest of everybody, if this place was finally cleaned up? So it may be possible to make some sort of deal with whoever is in charge.

What a great find. No idea what the convertible in the garage is but the Merc is a W116 S class. I think all the Audi coupes you find are standard(ish) coupes. The real money makers are the turbocharged ones, easily identifiable by wide boxed wheel arches. Only ever seen a couple of short-wheel based originals and they are super rare, even wider arches and they only built 214.
27.57 is some sort of Lancia.

Nope. Auto Union was the union of 4 german car brands: Audi, Horch, DKW and Wanderer. So the Audi brand existed before Auto Union did. The 80's models were still Auto Unions, but the badges already said "Audi"

The red Audi Coupe GT is a 1987(or there abouts). In the late 1980's I was an apprentice auto mechanic at Moore Motors VW/Porsche/Audi dealership in Philadelphia, PA. A customer ordered a red Audi GT and I got a ride to the port in Delaware to pick it up. I forgot a dealer tag but still drove the car back to the dealership in Philadelphia on route 95 doing 110mph at one point. The car was an automatic and had the 5 cylinder engine. The car in your video looks very similar. A coworker mechanic at the dealership owned a Audi Quattro Coupe but with the long wheelbase. The short wheel base vehicles are VERY rare. I wonder what could be done to save these vehicles in your video. Will you look into it? By the way I am a VW nut.
