    LOVE THIS. Definitely will be practicing this drill and hopefully it will improve on the game next time.

    Also would have been quite nice to see an example of how to handle someone oversetting the ball on the other side but great video 🔥

    I needed this tip. Thanks. How do you decide which is the person protecting the net? i.e. my partner just hit the ball over, do I go to protect the net or does my partner?

    Isn't it a bit "dangerous" to run back into the mid of the court as soon as the ball left the setters hand?
    Because the attacker could fake a high line shot or so and just drop the ball shortly behind the net into my field.

      you are right, I have tried the technique and many times the attackers when they see that I am running backwards take the opportunity to make a short shot in my defensive zone; do you know how to solve it?

    • @cirrus2013
      @cirrus2013 Před 4 měsíci

      @@ZorosSD I guess the answer is just to wait as long as possible or TO NOT USE the Net defender method. Cause when you are about mid field and you are a fast runner you can probably get more shorts and all other attacks than when you are waiting in net defender position.
      THe other option is to do a lot of jum training and become a blocker or decrease net height to about 50 cm above the average height of the players. So if you are 170 cm and most others on your court are too then that would be a net height of 220 cm but still be the same challenge as if a 190 cm player tries to block a 243 cm high net.

      As you pull back to the angle, your partner will be transitioning to the line. As they do, they’ll already be in a forward moving position which allows them to more easily break “forward” to cover the short. Unless you’re baiting, typically you don’t want to have both players covering short, or both covering deep. You want to divide those responsibilities and switch them as you transition. Make sense?

      @@billattinger5850 yes, it makes sense if we make the blocking player pull for his diagonal, but if the blocking player has to pull to the line it is very easy to get caught on the move going backwards; besides dividing responsibilities of short and long I don't know if it makes sense, each player has his responsibility whether it is the short of the diagonal or the short of the line.
