Illyana was more interesting than the protagonist, like how do you make a side character more memorable and entertaining than the dang protagonist. Also this video gave me so much chills and I don't care what anybody says, she legit carried this movie.

She effectively went from an illusionist to a low-level reality bender with how she actually manifests the fears of others into tangible things. Unfortunately, the movie was written and directed by a subhuman retard.

It’s a shame what the director did to these characters on this movie. Anya Taylor-Joy was the perfect actress for Illyana! It could have been so good, probably the best mutants movie
The director is the screenwriter too? Because if he is'nt, i think the falt is not of him, but of the screenwriter, because the proposal of this film was do a scary and action film, but he can't be te two things, because in the begning, the film is a little scary, (because of the indicative classification) and in the final is an action movie. And if the film was without the cuts and was bigger, maybe the history wold'nt have a tipe of void in the middle, but the characters are good.
@@pbedits410 He is. But the biggest problem isn’t the script (I agree the script it’s bad though). There is two cases of whitewashing in this movie. Sunspot (Roberto da Costa) and the doctor. They are originally black, and it’s an important fact on their stories. The director “explained” that he wanted to “represent” Brazil (Sunspot is Brazilian) in a good way, a “rich way” and that’s why a white actor is playing Sunspot. Spoiler alert: That’s not how you do a good representation of a country, erasing part of its people and mischaracterizing one of the few Brazilian characters that we have on international media. The director is openly racist, he let that pretty clear. Also, there is a lot of racist jokes on this movie. Illyana is racist to Dani multiple times like this is part of her “badass personality”. No one, especially native americans, wants to see Dani and her culture being humiliated for any reason, especially to make another character seems to have a strong personality. The director could easily change this if he wanted to. It’s his movie. I’m sure Fox or Disney didn’t made him put racism on the movie, so it’s was his choice.
@@fallenwarlock2418 Oh, thank you for telling me, so the falt is of the director yes, and i'm brazilian and was very disappointed with the fact they put Henry Zaga to do Roberto, because 54% of the brazilian population are black, and in the comics, Sunspot was black, and as much as I'm white, I don't see the need to change the character's ethnicity, since we need more black representation, because yes, 54% of Brazilians are black, but only 7% of Brazilians declare themselves like that, because of the racism of the brazilian population, and maybe if they had quoted a black Brazilian actor to play the role, maybe that would encourage people to declare themselves, since it would be incredible to have black Brazilian superhero.

Anya Taylor-Joy as MAGIK was one of the best castings and decisions FOX has ever done. It's so good that it's right there alongside Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds. She just needs a good director and script. We deserve to see this queen in her full glory without all of those unnecessary mean comments the director made her say in the movie. Kevin Feige, please! Deadpool 3 ♥️🤧
That's a good point, since she's Colossus' sister, she could be a character in a Deadpool movie.
Damn. Despite the awful writing she was given, Taylor-Joy managed to make this role her own. I hope she gets to be in the MCU, even if it’s an alternate version like with J Jonah Jameson in FFH.

This was literally art, like this got me more hooked on the movie than the original trailer. The timing of the scenes and what happened in the scenes with the song is PERFECT. Love this, probably watched this video now 30 times and it still gives me goosebumps 👏

Illyana carries a dragon toy. This is a homage to Lockheed, a pet dragon owned by the X-Men (in the comics he was owned by Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat, in this film he is owned by Magik).

Anya Taylor-Joy is a really excellent fit as Magik. I hope she appears again in the role. She feels destined to play Colossus' sister, the same way that Ryan Reynolds feels destined to play Deadpool or Patrick Stewart feels destined to play Charles Xavier.

What I would love to see, is Pietro (Colossus) and Illyana, reunited, against someone like Mr. Sinister. I suppose it'd kinda pale in comparison to the Infinity Gauntlet series, but Inferno, Madelyne Prior, and Havok as lovers, demon queen with the only thing Cyclops can't damage, only make stronger. I know, I know, there's only so much budget, and only so much time, but Scott and Alex, and their conflicted love stories would make for great theater. Scott absorbed energy from the sun, Alex absorbed it from all stars, cosmic. They really didn't do them justice in X-Men movies. The two brothers, combined? They were like a nuclear weapon, on an epic scale.
Oooh! A pair-up! Colossus and his little sister Illyana, combined with the Summers brothers! How the hell could that go wrong?! Mayhem! Drama! SFX just out the window!
