I recently watched those spell book products videos and im not sure if I should by a precon, spell book, or just buy singles. I really don't know what to buy if go that route. Would Choose Kellogg, Dangerous Mind over Monoxa, Midway Manager. Paying an extra 6 to roll some dice seems like unnecessary compared to extra Treasure Gen and Commander Stealing.
Why are you pronouncing Caesar that way. I had to look it up to be sure im not crazy. Sure there is a german pronunciation that is almost what you said. Hard C or K sound to start.. but its not the english or really any other way to say it. I mean is that how you say "little Caesars"? You know the pizza place? Its "see-ser" not "kie-sar"... not sure why it bigs me so much. Just though an english major would know that. If im wrong then im wrong, but please bring a good explination, hopefully with situations.

I bought the Hail Caesar precon and tore it apart to build a House deck. Wizards definitely dropped the ball on the chance to make a great precon for House.
Eh, the only House-worthy cards in that precon are House himself, Luck Bobblehead and the reprint of Ruinous Ultimatum. Aaaand maybe the lands from the set to keep it in character.
Atempted Murder is oddly flavorful for a New Vegas themed deck as well. The main character is (attempted) murdered in the opening cutscene of the game and you see crows everywhere as you embark on your journey of revenge
This + the fact that the Storm Crows the card generates have the 50's greaser aesthethic shared by the Tunnel Snakes are the reasons I kept Attempted Murder in my version of the deck.

I gotta say, I think you're missing that Unfinity works GREAT theming wise, this could totally be a Wild Wasteland kind of DLC expansion. New Vegas definitely leaned that direction with Sierra Madre and Old World Blues. That sort of theming, if made darker, would work great with the vision of pre-war Fallout
No. Because it demonstrates why they need to be put in all/more preconstructed decks: They are too expensive. Unlike WotC, TCC "has to" stick to the $45 limit.

I love that Fallout 1 and 2 got a decent amount of love in this set, and that Fallout: Tactics even got a card. I was expecting the Master to get a card, maybe Frank Horrigan or Tandi, but to see people and places like Ian, Aradesh, Junktown, the Cathedral, Necropolis, Vault City, the Oil Rig and the Temple of Trials represented was a pleasant surprise, and Behemoth of Vault 0 was a fantastic surprise.
Rene Auberjonios was one of the best audiobook narrators too!! The Phenderghast series by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child was really brought to life by Rene! RIP man, thanks so much!
I had built my own semi-budget Mr. House deck as soon as I got the Caesar deck! I'm glad our decklists are pretty similar. I included some token doublers in the form of Mondrak, Glory Dominus and Anointed Procession (proxied because both total over $100), more damage pingers like Mayhem Devil, Disciple of the Vault, and Nadir's Nightblade, and cards that bring in Attractions 😁

I think you cantake most of these cards to be reskined as if they belong New Vegas. I also love Mr House. It was one of the hype moment for me to reach to New Vegas and finally talk to the guy. He totally deserved his own deck.
As soon as I saw Mr. House's abilities, I knew this had to be the first deck I ever built! Pretty cool watching a video where most of the cards I alright knew about or had, but also thanks for letting me know of the existence for a few that I didn't know about, lol

House’s outburst is one of my favorite moments in fallout 76, just seeing the true him after you have this idealized thought of him is so perfectly written.
I absolutely love to see this! This is exactly what I named my house commander deck before I even knew the hail Caesar deck was coming out. I always make a joke with my friends saying looks like it's time to go to the adventure dome. Which is basically an amusement park located here in vegas
With all the minor characters in the Doctor Who decks, Jack Harkness not getting a card except as The Face of Boe was a huge let down. I feel they did the same injustice to Joshua Graham with this set.
Thanks for the video! I had bought the "Hail, Ceasar!" deck because I already had a Mardu aristocrat deck and wanted more cards fitting that but was disappointed that Mr. House didn't have any real support in it for his dice rolling effect. This'll be a big help on getting the dice rolling (pun very much intended) on my own take!
My own version of Mr House, that I got to try out earlier this week, is probably a little less spicy because literally every nonland card cares about or rolls dice, meaning I lose stuff like the treasure synergy cards. But that's fine, because it's a lot sillier that way. The fact that this version only runs Luck Bobblehead and none of the others so you can't even try to gamble for the 1 in 280 thousand win should be a crime though.
When using all the bobble heads in a deck it just becomes so much worse. I know I know, fun over winning etc.. but drawing into 3 cost mana rocks which dont do much over n over feels bad
Victor, Jane & Monroe, the Platinum Chip, Snowglobes (produces treasures), the Lucky 38 itself, Chairmen and Omertas were all no-brainers for them to add for Mr. House. Really sad not to see them, but you did a great job making an alternate version.
Villain? He can be ruthless, but the only two groups he has you kill are the Legion and the Brotherhood. Given the history of the Brotherhood in the Mojave I can't say I blame him for striking first before they go to war with him. I can't think of many other villainous things he does or has you do.
As soon as they revealed Mr.House I started building the deck. I printed out a proxy of hin to slot as the commander and went to town a couple months back. Have loved it ever since. Being a big D&D fan helps as well. One of my favorite decks and the flavor of the card and its abilities is top notch!
Mr. House isn't a villain, he's morally grey. In fact, Mr. House has the best ending because he offers humanity a future away from the fallout. And in a neutral or good karma through, his egomaniac tendencies are grounded and kept in check by courier 6.
@@HeaveHoBucko Yeah Mr. House is interesting because he succeeds in offering a cold but nonetheless humanist, utilitarian ethics to the player, one that places the "collective good" over individuals. He is essentially what The Master/Caesar/Enclave think they were, but weren't, because they were too dysfunctional and/or sadistic. Because he doesn't care when individualism doesn't threaten the collective good of humanity, he ends up as a morally grey character with big potential payoffs for mankind at the cost of autocracy, one who it's supposed to feel kind of screwed up to kill regardless of whether you side with him or not.
One of my friends built something similar to this a while back. We found that his deck pops off super early and just becomes a removal magnet by the midgame. I imagine it could be played in a way that allows it to win in that phase of the game but it hasn't happened quite yet. Very cool concept though.
The fact that Mr House is red instead of blue is the biggest flavour fail in this set. This man hasn't got a red bone in his body, Wizards simply shoved these colors onto him so he fits into the precon.
That’s not true at all. Have you played all his outcomes???………in one outcome, I forgot what town it was, but he wanted you to destroy the whole town. Also, there’s another outcome where he gets extremely angry at you for something, and if you don’t kill him. You never get another chance to, and you become like his number one kill on site enemy for the rest of the game.
Gambling though and the new Vegas strip in general, is red as can be. Though i doubt mr house himself is into gambling. Blue seems right but red also does
@@douglasfoley2060 "Red" doesn't mean "angry", it means "chaotic". There's is absolutely nothing chaotic about what House does. His quest is literally titled "House Always Wins", that's as anti-red as you can get.

@@yaginku have you paid attention to magic???……..red also means rage. That’s why majority of red cards have something to do with haste, burn, sometimes trample and power boosts. Some cards in red also give you an extra turn or combat phase but have some terrible down side like losing the game at the end of the turn, basically stuff you would do if you raged out and used all your stamina. I think you need to play fallout, and magic a little bit more, or pay closer attention to them.
I can't wait to build and surprise my boss with this deck! He was so disappointed to see Mr. House relegated to back up with almost no go. Thank you for this Mr. Prof!!
This looks like a fun deck, and one I might try building. That said, I am once again compelled to comment by the prof's wildly inaccurate pricing statements. The Fallout precons, like all existing UB precons, would have an MSRP of $59.99 if it had one. They were never $50 decks. WotC has literally never put out a Commander precon at that price point. Currently, they are either $45 (for standard set ones) or $60 (for UB ones). Or more, for Commander Masters, I suppose.
@@zennozangetsu1164 I manage a game store. When someone with a large audience of Magic players starts incorrectly declaring what things should cost, it can affect the market. If customers expect to pay $50 for a $60 item, we are going to struggle to stay open. The prof does a good job of encouraging people to support their local game stores, but is shooting us in the foot himself.
you must be new because for a long time commander precons were 40$, such as the ur-dragon and edgar markhov decks, then wotc came out with beginner ones such as the rogue deck from zendikar rising was 20$. Only recently has $40+ become a thing, unless you are in a different country than the U.S. As of 3/24/2024 the Caesar deck is exactly 50$ at multiple different retailers.
He wasn't incorrect though, decks don't have msrp anymore and I haven't seen these decks above 50$, the video shows it at 38$ so unless you are talking Canadian dollars I have no clue what you're on about@@Thessik73
I'm gonna be real with you guys. I haven't played competitive magic in a decade, I only play with friends who are chill with what's legal or not. So I built a Mr House commander deck with a lot of the dice-rolling cards from Unstable. It's not OP at all cause it's all D6s anyway and it's a ton of fun!!
I probably will make this list a reality. I was trying to find roll die cards on scryfall, and due to the wording it wasnt the easiest to do. I appreciate the leg work being done to find the fun stuff!
The only thing I don’t like about this deck is that there isn’t really any room for expanding. There are a finite amount of dice rolling cards you pretty much include all of those. A few removal spells and that’s your deck
There is enough synergy with treasure and artifact synergies too if you wanna branch out. Stuff like unwinding clock and treasure effects to use house's ability too. I think there is some space to fiddle with the deck and since treasure helps it will get new cards more often than once in a blue moon with dice only synergies.
My table let me rule 0 him as a proxy commander months ago and It's been such a blast to play. Been on a ROLL with'em since having a real one to play with!
I don't care about Fallout but this decks mechanical do intrigue me. I also think it would be fun to have an episode of Shuffle Up and Play using just Tolarian Community Precons.
Mr. House being regularly taken out of caesar seems fitting lol That said gotta give the caeser deck credit, amazing value PLUS basically what you need to split off an entire second interesting and fun deck without even losing much from Caesar
I think inspiring statuary could be a good budget include allowing you to generally cast most of your spells without needing to sacrifice your treasures.
I've built Mr House with many dnd cards and unfinity-- more focused on the treasure making aspect to be able to work more cohesively while still remaining flavourful. I even bought Nuka-Cola caps on etsy and aged them for real TREASURES 😇 playing it on the Holo Foil nuka cola playmat feels amazing along with custom dragonshield sleeves with the pip boy rolling dice on the design. My friends absolutely love playing against it and borrowing it to play too.
Ive been wanting to make an ameritrash dice rolling commander deck for quite a while now, and after seeing mr house i thought he would be the ideal commander. Thanks for making this video Prof!
I'd also suggest Vexing Puzzle Box for this deck! But man this was exactly what I wanted to see! My Caesar deck is already fully modified, but this House deck is awesome!
I wish that they not only made a Mr. House deck but also made it an Attraction's deck. Just imagine getting new attractions based on the various casinos, maybe one for Caravan, and a few cards for manipulating die results for selecting the effects you want. Like what feels more like running a casino then manipulating the game
I understand Bethesda only doing 4 decks, one for a face commander from each of their Fallout games (3, NV, 4, and 76). The mechanics on House imply he woulda been the face commander, but WOT probably struggled to make it work and didnt't wanna toss in a bunch of dice. Maybe we'll see a Secret Lair House deck in the near future? "Mr. House: He's Evil But You Know You Love Him So Let's Roll Some Dice!"
I too, was hoping for the precon to be based on Mr. House. I love adding "chance time" shenanigans to my commander games. Luckily for me I already have most of the cards you mentioned in this video, so i barely need to spend any money to make this deck.👍

All I wanted from the Fallout set was a Fawkes card, and sadly they once again disappointed (after skipping Captain Jack in Doctor Who)

Exactly, he's offers the whole "rebuilding society" promise the enclave makes without the horrible human experiments.

The $45 version is now estimated at $137 and the $109 version is estimated for $233.. cool cool cool lol.

I'd say House is practically my platonic ideal of a "lesser evil".
One of my friends built something similar to this a while back. We found that his deck pops off super early and just becomes a removal magnet by the midgame. I imagine it could be played in a way that allows it to win in that phase of the game but it hasn't happened quite yet. Very cool concept though.
Say I had the brass and copper dragons - which cards would I swap out for them? 🤔

The fact that Mr House is red instead of blue is the biggest flavour fail in this set. This man hasn't got a red bone in his body, Wizards simply shoved these colors onto him so he fits into the precon.
That’s not true at all. Have you played all his outcomes???………in one outcome, I forgot what town it was, but he wanted you to destroy the whole town. Also, there’s another outcome where he gets extremely angry at you for something, and if you don’t kill him. You never get another chance to, and you become like his number one kill on site enemy for the rest of the game.
Gambling though and the new Vegas strip in general, is red as can be. Though i doubt mr house himself is into gambling. Blue seems right but red also does
@@douglasfoley2060 "Red" doesn't mean "angry", it means "chaotic". There's is absolutely nothing chaotic about what House does. His quest is literally titled "House Always Wins", that's as anti-red as you can get.
@@TopMostFlavor Mr. House is never shown gambling and his casino is closed. The gamblers are red, the owner of the casino that's pulling the strings and always wins in the end is anti-red.
@@yaginku have you paid attention to magic???……..red also means rage. That’s why majority of red cards have something to do with haste, burn, sometimes trample and power boosts. Some cards in red also give you an extra turn or combat phase but have some terrible down side like losing the game at the end of the turn, basically stuff you would do if you raged out and used all your stamina. I think you need to play fallout, and magic a little bit more, or pay closer attention to them.
I can't wait to build and surprise my boss with this deck! He was so disappointed to see Mr. House relegated to back up with almost no go. Thank you for this Mr. Prof!!
Love the deck as a concept. It remains to be seen whether the table tolerates all the dice rolling or hates it straight out of the game.

This looks like a fun deck, and one I might try building. That said, I am once again compelled to comment by the prof's wildly inaccurate pricing statements. The Fallout precons, like all existing UB precons, would have an MSRP of $59.99 if it had one. They were never $50 decks. WotC has literally never put out a Commander precon at that price point. Currently, they are either $45 (for standard set ones) or $60 (for UB ones). Or more, for Commander Masters, I suppose.
There were $20-30 commander decks before so this is a silly thing to get tiffed at
@@zennozangetsu1164 I manage a game store. When someone with a large audience of Magic players starts incorrectly declaring what things should cost, it can affect the market. If customers expect to pay $50 for a $60 item, we are going to struggle to stay open. The prof does a good job of encouraging people to support their local game stores, but is shooting us in the foot himself.

you must be new because for a long time commander precons were 40$, such as the ur-dragon and edgar markhov decks, then wotc came out with beginner ones such as the rogue deck from zendikar rising was 20$. Only recently has $40+ become a thing, unless you are in a different country than the U.S. As of 3/24/2024 the Caesar deck is exactly 50$ at multiple different retailers.
He wasn't incorrect though, decks don't have msrp anymore and I haven't seen these decks above 50$, the video shows it at 38$ so unless you are talking Canadian dollars I have no clue what you're on about@@Thessik73

I'm gonna be real with you guys. I haven't played competitive magic in a decade, I only play with friends who are chill with what's legal or not. So I built a Mr House commander deck with a lot of the dice-rolling cards from Unstable. It's not OP at all cause it's all D6s anyway and it's a ton of fun!!
I love it. This is the kind of deck that keeps me coming back to Commander. Unique mechanics exploited to the max!

Just finshed assembling my own Mr. House deck a week ago and it's a lot of fun to pilot.

I'm definitely making this deck, but I'm also definitely adding in Dance With Calamity so I can have a blackjack table too.
I probably will make this list a reality. I was trying to find roll die cards on scryfall, and due to the wording it wasnt the easiest to do. I appreciate the leg work being done to find the fun stuff!
Honestly, a Mr House Attractions build could be fun as well.
The only thing I don’t like about this deck is that there isn’t really any room for expanding. There are a finite amount of dice rolling cards you pretty much include all of those. A few removal spells and that’s your deck
There is enough synergy with treasure and artifact synergies too if you wanna branch out. Stuff like unwinding clock and treasure effects to use house's ability too. I think there is some space to fiddle with the deck and since treasure helps it will get new cards more often than once in a blue moon with dice only synergies.
Hey, you can always go into attractions.
My table let me rule 0 him as a proxy commander months ago and It's been such a blast to play. Been on a ROLL with'em since having a real one to play with!
I'm so glad I built and bought my Mr House deck before this video came out. There's been a huge spike in card prices for dice rolling
I don't care about Fallout but this decks mechanical do intrigue me. I also think it would be fun to have an episode of Shuffle Up and Play using just Tolarian Community Precons.

That said gotta give the caeser deck credit, amazing value PLUS basically what you need to split off an entire second interesting and fun deck without even losing much from Caesar

I love ebony fly. It's a may affect too so you can simply ignore the rest of the text if there's creature removal on the board.

I think inspiring statuary could be a good budget include allowing you to generally cast most of your spells without needing to sacrifice your treasures.

I've built Mr House with many dnd cards and unfinity-- more focused on the treasure making aspect to be able to work more cohesively while still remaining flavourful. I even bought Nuka-Cola caps on etsy and aged them for real TREASURES 😇 playing it on the Holo Foil nuka cola playmat feels amazing along with custom dragonshield sleeves with the pip boy rolling dice on the design. My friends absolutely love playing against it and borrowing it to play too.
Ive been wanting to make an ameritrash dice rolling commander deck for quite a while now, and after seeing mr house i thought he would be the ideal commander. Thanks for making this video Prof!
I'd also suggest Vexing Puzzle Box for this deck! But man this was exactly what I wanted to see! My Caesar deck is already fully modified, but this House deck is awesome!
I wish that they not only made a Mr. House deck but also made it an Attraction's deck. Just imagine getting new attractions based on the various casinos, maybe one for Caravan, and a few cards for manipulating die results for selecting the effects you want. Like what feels more like running a casino then manipulating the game
I understand Bethesda only doing 4 decks, one for a face commander from each of their Fallout games (3, NV, 4, and 76). The mechanics on House imply he woulda been the face commander, but WOT probably struggled to make it work and didnt't wanna toss in a bunch of dice. Maybe we'll see a Secret Lair House deck in the near future? "Mr. House: He's Evil But You Know You Love Him So Let's Roll Some Dice!"
I too, was hoping for the precon to be based on Mr. House. I love adding "chance time" shenanigans to my commander games. Luckily for me I already have most of the cards you mentioned in this video, so i barely need to spend any money to make this deck.👍
