Some local jazz station back then played this and For The Love of You very regularly, in between true smooth jazz and smooth jazz-y songs (and of course some Candy and SADE!), and always in the late evening until about 3AM. And rainy summer nights with the window open just made the session that much more so memorably heavenly! I call it The Quiet Storm (Witching) Hour.
That’s the trouble...it tends to go pear shaped when someone tries to over sing...you tend to start losing the key and your pitching goes completely. Only once you have mastered singing the song straight can you start to play around with your phrasing and interpretation etc.
