You could make it more hidden by using Lego mindstorms’ motion sensor (the one that mesures distances) to detact your hand waving ang then it opens the storage, this way you could close op the furniture with a woorden plate or something, and if you connect the mindstorms robot to a charger which you can connect to a smart plug (to not waste energy) you can have it 100% automatic.
It's called ultra sonic sensor

To make it more secret, you could use the wood piece you cut out the table. Then it won’t be 100% LEGO I Guess... but still, EXCELLENT video I love what you do ❤❤❤❤❤
The way it works too, theoretically if you made the hinges on the containers stronger, you could leave them down and whenever you lower it, they automatically get pushed back into place.
That would cause issues with scrapes and damage to both the table and lego

I have been having this idea to use LEGOs to demonstrate the principle of Integral Calculus. Basically, calculating the volume of irregular shapes. Each brick represents quantified three-dimensional space, thereby allowing the volume of any shape to be calculated by counting the bricks.

Make double piston extender
You should make it so that it’s two plates on top and then make the whole top of the desk one plate tall so then it will be more hidden
