Head kick from the gods for sure…I respect the skill and talent it took to throw the kick but It’s still tough not to call it “lucky”. Watching someone get dominated for nearly 20min and have the awareness to throw that kick is amazing but he has a lot to prove in the trilogy.

Such a great coach. Knowing your fighter and what they need to here is a huge mental part. Too many coaches tell their figjyers the same exact bs and lie to them when they're losing.

Leon was so exhausted, from the ~5000ft Colorado-Utah elevation, he didn't know what's up or down & was just going through the motions; but his brother Fabian and his Muay Thai coach kept screaming for him to do the cross kick, the head kick they've been practicing for YEARS! And he listened to them, did the right-left hand throws, & executed the left kick perfectly.
Edwards corner work is the greatest thing I've ever heard. Still gives me chills.

I can still remember the shock and overwhelming awe and joy I felt when Leon landed that beautiful headkick. I'm sure Salt Lake City has a special place in his heart as well.

Man I remember watching this live (not in person lol) but it always gives me goosebumps seeing him crying, knowing the fact that he proved everyone wrong (including me). His stock went up really good after that post fight speech. Can’t wait to see the 3rd one! LOOK AT ME NOW!
I remember turning it off after the fourth round and going to bed because I thought it was done for then waking up the next morning and going on CZcams and seeing this everywhere😂 I could not believe it
I want leon to win, and I had that true disappointment feeling going into the fifth. However after what he did in the first, and his slightly having usmans back in the 4th standing up, I still always watch to hang onto hope. I watched the fifth and I definitely thought it was over but I always watch them thru because I appreciate the sport. And when it happened I originally though usman slipped, cuz the way he looked it looked like he way still there, but immediately I realized he did it. I screamed into my pillow in amazement, I did not like usman so I was hype, ( I like usman now after his class and the khamzat fight) then the post fight speech legit brought me to tears, I felt like it was the most real moment and wholesome moment with any fighter, i felt like my best friend just won a title, I felt like I knew leon, now he's my 2nd favorite fighter next to charley olives, I just wish charles spoke English, but charles is still my favorite due to his fight style, this moment changed how I will forever feel for the sport
My Mrs was fuming cos I woke her up screaming "YES!!!" over and when she had to get up for work a couple of hours later haha

Brilliant sound editing to one of the most thrilling fights in and out of cage. Leon's team deserves all the credit in the world as they were fighting with him, feeding exactly the right instructions at the right time and fanning the spark in Leon till the epic head kick which sent shock waves throughout the mma world. They showed that a fighter, no matter how talented, they all need a team that believes in him, understands him and is willing to die with him.
That was THE moment of 2022
The emotion was real, what a night for Leon, his team, his family and for the fans in the UK, Jamaica and the rest of the world. Rocky by name and Rocky by nature.

One of the most shocking ends to a fight there will ever be. It literally came out of nowhere in a fight Usman had won by decision. Changed Leon’s life forever. Instead of going back to the pack and probably never getting another title shot, he becomes the champ

Obviously I dont know Leon from a bar of soap. But when he did that kick i felt like a proud father watching his son stand up to the bully he could never beat , i jumped 6 feet off the couch, what a finish and Cinderella story ending to get the strap in that way off the pound 4 pound best welterweight. And that speech ffs , " Head shot Dead " still gives me goosebumps.
