    Spoiler alert: Repairs were minor, Tesla treated him wonderfully. He is 100 percent satisfied .

    I bought a 2018 long range RWD model 3 in October 2023. The previous owner did 2K$ in repairs before selling. Was told it would be “mint” by Tesla before purchase. 4 months after purchase, I got a warning that brake fluid was low. Went into Tesla and they said brake lines were corroded and needed to be changed. They covered it but then found that the steering wheel connector was corroded. I paid 3K$ for that and it didn’t feel good. Love the car but got unlucky there

    Interesting. My Model S had a rattle on a wheel, $200 just to diagnose, no loaner. Just a good see ya.

      Ngl thats alot of mechanic shops tho but I get your point. $200 for a diagnose is wild.

      Yeah its expensive to repair minor stuff. Was like 450 for some tire rod squeaking i had. Prob just needed more lube since water tends to get on that part when it rains.

    We went into the Tesla Service Center for a scheduled repair that was expected to complete just before the end of the day. We noticed the new Model 3 Highland parked nearby, after checking it out for ten or fifteen minutes, one of the employees ask us if we wanted to test drive it. We drove around in it while doing a few errands and returned it a while later.
    Upon returning it, we mentioned how we did not get a chance to test the FSD. The Service attendant told us to go ahead and try it for a bit. We proceeded to test it while doing even more errands, and returned it after receiving notification that our vehicle was ready early. Overall, we estimated that we had the test vehicle for about four hours… 😳
    We have had our Model 3 for over three years, maybe spent SIXTY dollars in total for service, plus Two hundred fifty dollars deductible for a windshield replacement, that was no fault of the vehicle itself…
    The only other thing we have done to the car was rotate the tyres after 20K miles…
    😏

      I actually didn’t record the screen natively! I rigged up a camera with a tripod and some ratchet straps in the backseat and framed it on the screen with no glare, and set the focus to manual so it didn’t pivot or hunt focus

    Hows it going, wanted to ask how your repair was $0, did you have an extended warranty or did they give you an extended warranty from buying a used car directly from Tesla?

    • @naknowbte5951
      @naknowbte5951 Před měsícem +5

      For used tesla's or atleast the one my friend got, you get to keep whatever is left of the warranty, and then you get an additional 1 year 10,000 miles.

    My experience with free dealership loaner cars is because you get ripped off. My cousin was charged $8000 for his Mercedes air shocks replacement but he was given a free loaner car😅

  • @jerryfranklin6138
    @jerryfranklin6138 Před 28 dny +2

    I thought to warranty was 4yr/50k miles. How were you able to get these repairs covered at $0 and with a loaner car.

    • @ClipPlayTV
      @ClipPlayTV  Před 28 dny +2

      You have a 10,000 mile one year used car warranty when you buy a used car from Tesla✅

  • @dlm89538
    @dlm89538 Před měsícem +5

    Did you have a warranty through Tesla that made it cost $0? If you did buy it used through the Tesla website, how did that go? Were you able to test drive it before buying?

    • @cisnerosjoel22
      @cisnerosjoel22 Před měsícem +4

      When you buy a used one from Tesla they will give you a year of warranty

    • @dlm89538
      @dlm89538 Před měsícem +1

      @cisnerosjoel22 Yes, I know they offer that warranty. Thus, the follow-up questions about buying it used from the Tesla site and how that went...especially if you could test drive it

    • @Jake-es1fl
      @Jake-es1fl Před měsícem

      I bought mine used from Tesla.
      No test drive. When I got there my 12v battery was dead and the replaced it on the spot in like 10 minutes with a brand new one.
      10k mile limited body warranty from whatever miles you had on it when purchased. Then the 120,000 8 year* warsnty on battery.
      However if you bought a 2020 that 8 year warranty is up in 2028

    • @ClipPlayTV
      @ClipPlayTV  Před měsícem +1

      Yes tesla has a 10,000 mile or one year whichever comes first first used car warranty

    • @dlm89538
      @dlm89538 Před měsícem

      @@Jake-es1fl that's pretty crazy they make you put a non-refundable payment on a car you can't test drive or let alone see until you are ready to purchase. What if the interior or exterior is all marked up and shows hard use? You can say no and then are out $250-500

      I think that if you buy a used Tesla from the company they give a 12 month warranty.If the car has any warranty left, they add one year after the original warranty runs out.

    It is only more economical if you buy a similar priced ICE vehicle and drive a lot.
    For people that buy, let's say a Honda Accord, and drive less than 10 000 miles a year. And assuming nothing breaks down ( which is very likely with honda and toyota vehicles), the costs over 5-10 years, might be cheaper than that of a model 3.

    • @conchobar
      @conchobar Před 15 dny

      My Chevy Bolt only requires tire rotations, in-cabin air filter, and wiper blade replacements for the first 120k miles. A Camry, Civic, or Accord, will have numerous air filter, Oil, belt, brake pad, spark plug, and coolant replacements over that same mileage. Add in furl savings and a Tesla owner has a nice buffer for repair cost even if his car is less reliabile.

      Because after the tax credit he paid less than 21k for the car. Check my math plz, but my calculator is saying that's roughly half of what you're quoting
