A little correction: Beat one is the strong beat, and beats 2 & 3 are weak beats. The "&s" of each beat are "off beats". Regardless, the beats are strummed down, while the off beats are strummed up.
Hi Ruben. I bought your courses and also sent a request for a much-needed possible future video. The message is attached to your Ample Sound Acoustic Guitars: "Welcome!" video.
i’ll check it out!
@@hifimidi Got them installed. Thanks for the video.
One more tip: When deleting notes in a strum pattern like at 6:25 - you should fill the gaps with the notes that were at strum before. Because if playing a real guitar and strum, but not hitting every string, the "not hitted" strings, are still decaying from the strum before - although a little bit quieter.
Super practical as I learn to use Ample. Keeps me from just puttering until something sounds right albeit chaotic. This is going into my bag of tricks. Thanks.
Hey Ruben, another great video. Really appreciate you making all these Ample Sound videos, they are so helpful.
Hey Ruben it is always a joy to watch your videos. I need to get more confident in riffer, this really helps! Thanks!
Your last few videos have been really helpful - especially the 6 nylon guitar vsts, v3.7 update which inspired me to learn riffer, and now this one. Thanks.
🙂This was Amazingly helpful! For the first time since buying my Ample Guitars I feel like I'm finally getting the most out of them and remembering why I choose AmpleSound. Thank you so much!
Very clear explanation, especially in the MIDI editor. Earned a sub.
Hi Ruben, thanks for these tutorials on Ample guitars. You truly are a wizard with them. : ) I can't wait to spend some quality time with this new one. Kind regards, Darren (Wales, UK)
Impressive. The difference between the beginning and end is huge. I would not have picked up on the final result being a VST if I’d heard it in the mix, but would definitely have noticed the initial track.
Very good breakdown of guitar rhythm structure!
Thanks for this Ruben - definitely sounds much better.
Yo Ruben your tutorials is da best
Great stuff here. It's a lot of work to make these instruments sound natural. Sometimes I just record my actual guitar. However, my nerve damage in my right hand doesn't help my playing. So, these techniques will help me to still realize my musings onto a track and eventually to my "fans". :) So, thank you for all of these cool tutorials! Keep it up!
great video, very clear and effective. Thanks.
I liked it very much. Good video and explanations. In a short period of time I learned how to strumm. Very good. Thanks.
Superb tutorial. Just got AGM recently. First tried Strummer section a day or 2 back. Then redid it with rifffer using this tutorial. And the difference is night and day! Thanks Ruben!
Glad it helped!
Excellent! Thanks so much.
Great tutorial , thank you :)
Excellent video.
Very nice video; thanks!
awesome....just awesome. thank you.
Hi Ruben! Thank you so much for this content! Great improvements! Quick question: do you have any tips for making more convincing melodic (monophonic) palm mute guitar parts? It seems to me there aren't many options for expression in this case... but if you have any ideas, I'd love to hear! Keep up the wonderful work and thank you again!
Great ! video again. You give me more confidence to build better guitar riffs using vst
To add on to this: A lot of people seem to make the chords too... "connected," like piano chords with a sustain pedal. This is a big part of the reason why a lot of these MIDI guitars sound like a keyboard, or "fake".
What you need to picture in your head is a left hand on a guitar, changing chord shapes on the strings.
So like in this example where there's one chord per measure, I want you to imagine that it would take a split second for this guy's fingers to change from the G to the D chord, which might be a 16th note or even just a 64th note "rest" from the time the first chord ends and then the next chord begins. If you put in just a brief little pause there at the end of the measure, without the pedal down or the notes ringing out, it gives your VST a chance to just play the release sample of the strings and it's going to make your chord changes sound a hell of a lot more natural.
You also need to really emphasize your dynamic accents, which I'll admit is a little harder to explain in text but it's going to be more like: (G) ONE, and TWO, and THREE-and-a-FOUR, and (16th note stop) > (D) ONE, and TWO, and THREE-and-a-FOUR-e-and-a(16th note stop) > etc. You might want to put in some little variations in each measure to it isn't exactly the same pattern, or exactly the same dynamics every single time.
Hi Ruben, thanks for these tutorials , can we use other ample guitar preset riff and use it in AGM ,thanks
thank you thank you thank you!
Great thanks
very nice sir... really if we master this we can come very bear to original....
plz do more tutorials on different time signatures , varied grooves and patterns along with palm mute and other articulations.... wch will make the vst almost like a real guitar....
ur tutorials are so valuble and u dont even waste 1 sec extra very specific so that we can watch it N number if times and learn and masrer it..
as requested plz do more videos on patterns and differenr grooves ans styles.... tq soo much sir... love from INDIA❤❤
Great Video Ruben!!! Looking into getting one of the acoustic guitars. Which acoustic do you prefer Martin or Taylor 6 string. I don’t know much about acoustic guitars. What are you and Rob music for in the 70s and 80s classic rock kind of feel and sound. hope to see more Lancaster guitars and Thanks.
You are the best dude..Do you work with Ample Sound company? The have to work with you for their strumming presets 😂
Hey boss do you please make a video on how to program a rythemic guitar with ample vsts
Hi Ruben, say you wanted to trigger some The Who type power chords on certain sections of a song using the Ample Stratocaster, please can you tell me what approach you would take. I'm sure it's straightforward, but I'm struggling a bit with this one. Many thanks, Darren. : )
Thank you... I have a prerecorded acoustic guitar audio. Is it possible to use effects on this recording using VST or any other software to make it sound better.
Please do a tutorial on how to program Vallenato (Fonseca, Carlos Vives, etc) guitar tracks with Ample Sound plugins
Hi can you please do a video on the strummer section of ample guitar plzzzz
Hello! I am your subscriber from Russia. Thanks for the very informative and interesting videos! I work at FL studio and write chords on DAW piano roll. How to set the range in which the chords and notes that I write should be played? I have a simple Am chord, the Ample Guitar M 2 plug-in scatters all over the fretboard, both on the 1st fret and on the 4th, the notes are not played on the 1-2 frets.
at 14:00 is when it becomes clear that simply recording a guitar part would be easier
Hi I appreciate so much your videos, thanks so much.. For some reason when I export ample acoustic T guitar in an MP3 format (using Logic Pro), it looses a lot of the quality, almost plays a little "double effect".. it won't happen if you export on wav.. do you know how can I solve it by any chance? :D
so you can only use ample sound if you are musically trained and know music theory ? how do u use scaler or instacomposer with ample guitar?
how to disable change the sound \ mode when you play on the keyboard in the 6th octave? ( for any guitar from the ample guitar )
What is the best flamenco guitar plugin now?
Is it possible to strum real-time iso drawing everything?
Hi Ruben, been watching your videos for awhile now and really appreciate your instruction. One question I had was do “real guitar” players play rhythm this way, or would they kind of lightly strum or “ghost” all the non accented beats in a steady eighth note pattern? Hope this question makes sense. Thanks again.
Hi Jeff, I wanted to address that while making this video. But you're absolutely correct. We can keep adding more layers of realism to replicate the beautiful imperfections of a real performance, but that would likely be for a dedicated video on nuanced playing.
Makes perfect sense! Thanks again for the quick reply and looking forward to more content!
Cool! But why you didn't use Strum Time in AGM on 6-th Step instead?
Because I had exported it already. It’s ok though. There’s many ways to get to the same result.
Hey, drag to host in riffer kills the sustain on strums and it also doesn't sounds as good as it does in the riffer, is there a workaround?
Does ample sound work for Logic Pro ?
Hi, why it doesnt make sound on the 5th fret strings?
You had plans to bring out a new guitar course. When is your next AmpleGuitar course coming up. Still waiting for it.
I was done writing my bass course but people expressed more interest in a midi programming course which is taking longer because I’m combining it with intro to theory.
@@hifimidi Release it in installments as your previous courses where you kept adding videos.
do you have tips on making country music?
is this midi compatible with mixcraft?
Thanks for these tips. Respectfully, swing is not something that you just randomly add to create "realism." Some songs are swung, and others are not. Adding swing doesn't make a performance more "natural." It's simply a different feel that may or may not be appropriate for a given song.
When I export riff to the host, it exports without the "humanization", which makes a huge difference. Even though it is configured.
Does anyone else have this problem?
Hi Ruben, can you send to my The preset Of HIFIMIDI Strum Preset ? Thanks Ruben you'r greatone
3:07 as I pull down the notes, the last note changes automatically (C to Em11)….how do I fix that
what should i do on the swing part if i use fl studio? i can't drag in .griff files
nvm i exported as midi
yea no it doesn't sound the same :/
👍🏾
tried this vst for a couple of years i would say its a good vst however i honestly think that its impossible to make a realistic pattern. notice many youtubers only has a good start using this but never use it in making a real song or given up using this vst
... 👍👍 !!
Does anyone here have an issue w ample guitar causing hi power usage on their computers? Very resource intensive application. Discourages me from using it
Hello 🤗
Thanks for your great vids!
I have a question..how can I create an electric guitar accompaniment like in the attached video starting at minute 0:41...both in terms of playing and in terms of sound....
czcams.com/video/aL8tDsv13bA/video.html
the swing should also be implented in riffer!
It doesn’t export well right now. It’s being checked by the engineers.
this plugin is so hard for my brain. when i go to stummer mode i made a nice strum but i cant get it to go into my daw from the plugin. What a waste of time.
Why can’t I just play the keyboard and ample strums accordingly??? Is this even possible??? Seems like a whole lot of penciling in for someone who can just play an idea out real quick.
This is possible with Acousticsamples guitar libraries. Maybe some others but I know this works flawlessly with theirs.
I just dont think it sounds like a real person playing the guitar. Seems like paying someone to play the chords on a real guitar is the best option.
AMPLE SOUND SUCKS ! Endless problems with licensing. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CRAP !
Wouldn’t it be easier to use say Ezkeys 2 and use midi out from ! I’ve found it brilliant ? 😊
Hello dear i am from ethiopia.i learn always from you thank you for sharing us your understandings.pls let me know your email i need you for some help
