    Thank you for the explanation and solution @6:20. I couldn't understand for the life of me why shit sounded different after dragging from Ample to Fl/host. Had a feeling it was FL.
    This kind of thing is the case with other articulated libraries, probably all. It's like a round Robin thing. I've found that simply clicking a midi note fixes it but in this case of using Ample and dragging that midi info in to the piano roll and then slightly moving the top midi notes over is best. However, the approach I just explained works in the situation in right now. So both ways helped.

      You have to approach it with the mindset of an actual musician playing a RL instrument.
      Learn what techniques a RL guitarist uses and duplicate them in your comps.
      Although, that is only half the trick. The other hlaf is knowing WHEN to use said techniques, and that can only come with experience. No wonder you had trouble not making it sound like a synth. Nothing, absolutely nothing comes close to learning an instrument IRL.

I have a few ideas that I came up with alon my iPad with riffler and then exported as MIDI. however, when I import them into FL Studio on my desktop OR GarageBand on the same iPad, the notes don't match and are several octaves higher. when I say don't match I mean they will come out as all the same note on the same string, when the riff actually spans 4 strings and include varying notes within a scale.

      InflightMuzik Would be cool to see maybe an example of how you use these really bold sounds in the context of a song, maybe you’ll cover that in the sound design video.
      I find that once I have everything else later down as well I either have to turn the guitar up and be the star of the show, or keep it low enough for there to be space for the vocals except now you can’t appreciate all the tones of the guitar 🎸 because it sounds so much fuller when it’s bare with no EQing

    Okay I’ll comment again- not sure if you have Logic - but is there any way you could possibly do an “in-depth” deep dive on how the strummer and riffer work? Your videos and others go so quickly over it and I still have issues , and I like to think of myself as programming savvy .
    For some reason I just can’t seem to get my head around the process as it just totally kills my workflow.
    ONE THING I’m not sure of, or haven’t figured out, is if Ample has a “piano roll” type setting that basically writes out the tabs or midi notes when played on keyboard- much like Logic or any DAW follows and writes the playing of the keyboard in the appropriate places on a piano roll. I feel like this would be an amazing feature and would solve many sleepless nights of trying to figure out the little up and down arrows and the strumming patterns that just sound like shit after I move them around!! Pleeeease?!

    I have a question and I hope you can help me... I haven't been able to find an answer anywhere else and it's the only thing that gets in the way of me considering this a truly great VST because of how annoying it is. So when I open up the VST for the first time and open the piano roll, the notes come out really strong and clear. But if I ever even so much as click A5 or higher, it makes every single note thereafter sound really weak and dissonant. I think it's changing the articulation to be some sort of palm mute and I can't for the life of me figure out how to undo it, so I have to copy my piano roll, open a new instance of the VST, then paste it to get that strong and clear sound back. It's just frustrating that it's programmed to modify articulation on keys that also play notes that I want to write with. Is there a way to change which keys are used to modify the articulation? If you can help, I'd really appreciate it.

    Problem: I write some chords in the riffer and they sound nice in it, but when i drag and drop it in the channel rack to piano roll and press play in FL, some notes don't play, for example an E chord will just play the root note and not the note of the A string. I think it has something to do with what you say towards the end of the video, cause I also see some blocks in the bottom of the piano roll.

    • @Inflightmuzik
      @Inflightmuzik  Před 2 lety

      Yes, because it’s taking the key trigger information with the notes on the bottom and either the timing isn’t right or the wrong things are being triggered. Make sure u are using the vst2 version. Play around with the key triggers depending on what you’re going for and the timing. Check your settings and go to the envelope and adjust the attack to 50ms. I believe that helps some things out as well. I honestly use this more for quickly playing midi myself rather than creating something in ample guitar and dragging it into the piano roll. Mainly because that’s my style of production, but also because of some of the midi issues that can pop up. It could be better to simply record the audio from the plug-in rather than using the midi if all else fails! That’s pretty much what I do when using riffer.

    It generally works with vst 2, but the vibrato's and the bends are missing. Maybe you know why?

    • @Inflightmuzik
      @Inflightmuzik  Před 3 lety

      Depending on the daw you use and vst2 vs vst3, it will perform differently, which is highly unfortunate. Because of this, there are missing velocities/triggers to make the proper articulations.

    I guess you would have to record it, because you loose your pitch bends when dragging it into FL Studio. Why isn't their a switch to flip in Fl Studio to make it act like a NORMAL DAW?

  • @Green5ive

    When I drag the MIDI from the Riffer in to FL Studio's Piano roll and then adjust the notes slightly so the articulation MIDI notes come first, I'm still not getting the articulations when I play it in FL Studio (it sounds nothing like what I have in the Riffer). Any idea of anything else I can try to get this to work, please?

    6:00 / PEOPLE: Because you have to first trigger the chord, these Ample plugins do NOT sync properly in ANY DAW that I've tried. Cubase 12, Nuendo 12, Studio One 5, FL Studio 20, Logic Pro X. It makes it unusable for me. I have NOT tried Ableton or ProTools. My Mac 2018 Mini (3.2 GHz i7 / 16 GB DDR4 / Radeon 5700 XT / and Apollo Twin Duo) are more than enough. *Turn on your metronome and you'll realize that it's not syncing properly.
