is this a good vst/au for punk, thrash, and hardcore styles of music? power chords, etc
@@squalor5515 yep, but you might like Ample Metal Eclipse more. I haven't done a tutorial on it yet, but they're out there if you want to look into that one.
@@Inflightmuzik thanks for the fast response! any reason in particular why that one would be better than hellraiser?
no particular reason. I just know they both are metal guitars, so they both work for the genres you listed so I wanted to make sure you checked them both out before making your final decision. Overall the Eclipse is geared more towards chords and rhythm, while the Hellraiser is geared more toward leads. But you can use either for both!
@@Inflightmuzik okay thanks friend I will check them out... its a toss up between this and shreddage and it would be great to get one thats easier to use and has the most support/tutorials as I'm a drummer with little knowledge on guitars besides how to play power chords on piano using logics guitar presets lol
You're an absolute legend! That shifting to the right technique you said has helped so much. I've gotten disheartened and scrapped so many songs because I just couldn't get it to sound right coming from Riffer.
This is the best, brief, straight-to-the-point overview I've come across for HELLRAZER -- and includes lots of useful tips for using it in FL Studio. Thanks!
Happy to help!
Thank you for taking the time to explain all this, personally I really appreciate it man... Time to finally finish my album!! Subscribed
Thanks youuuuu sooo much explaining the thing with the activation notes, I was so sad at first and thought it's over I could never make those sweet slide ins, but you saved the day chief, again thank you so much
Can you please pretend to be a pilot giving his preflight speech? You have the perfect voice for it.
This is the best Ample Guitar Riffer tutorial. Thank You!!! Looking forward for More Ample Guitar e.g. Metal Eclipse.
I've been using Hellrazer for a fair amount of time now, I find it to be one of the better guitar vsts available, especially when you stack it with other Ample sounds products like Eclipse, and the often forgotten Metal ray5 bass. Good video brother! look forward to checkin' out your stuff.
Even without a clean sound demo i'm sold. looks so much more easy to use than anything from the recent impact soundworks libraries, i have rogue and dont use it cause the key switching and strumming are so annoying to use. Great video and info.
Thanks, been looking for how to do FX slides and this video helped!
These guitar tutorials are super helpful, thanks man!
Always happy to help, and always happy to see ya come thru!
InflightMuzik appreciate you man!
Ive been on a binge watching yur vids today, I have to thank you cause I honestly didnt know how to use this part of AG this is game changer making melodies! Truth be told I was doing the pitch bends outside of the vst (I know, I know) kinda defeats the purpose. Thanks again!
I didn't expect you to be using the Hellrazer at all! 😂
But yes, it was helpful and made me realise how powerful the riffer is.
Thanks for a great tutorial on the riffer!
thank you for making this video, I really learned a lot
Your tutorials are excellent.
Excellent job on the video. I'm an old guitar player from the 70s. Enjoyed your tutorial. Trying to learn the new tools.
Thank you for the explanation and solution @6:20. I couldn't understand for the life of me why shit sounded different after dragging from Ample to Fl/host. Had a feeling it was FL.
This kind of thing is the case with other articulated libraries, probably all. It's like a round Robin thing. I've found that simply clicking a midi note fixes it but in this case of using Ample and dragging that midi info in to the piano roll and then slightly moving the top midi notes over is best. However, the approach I just explained works in the situation in right now. So both ways helped.
Thanks again
Thank you for this one! Many things to learn in here
For sure! I'm still learning as well haha
BRo thank you so much !! i did not know whhy the midi sounded different from the Riffer !
Please more guitar tutorial i already subscribed !
liked it.. so much helped, Thanks for sharing
Damn you are easy to follow and watch. Such good work!
Thanks! Happy to help 😀
This helped me so much! I struggled with getting a realistic sound from this VST but it sounded a bit synth-ish and artificial. The only thing i want to know is how to pitch bend a note to go up or down and adjust the speed of it as well. The tutorial was very helpful, hence you earned a new sub and like 😀
for the best pitch bends, I would use the key triggers to switch into pitch bend mode. Just keep in mind, it's going to bend according to the tempo of your track and how far apart the notes are.
@@Inflightmuzik Thank you friend! 😀
i noticed the lower notes sound much more realistic esp when accompanied by other instruments but that might just be me lol
You have to approach it with the mindset of an actual musician playing a RL instrument.
Learn what techniques a RL guitarist uses and duplicate them in your comps.
Although, that is only half the trick. The other hlaf is knowing WHEN to use said techniques, and that can only come with experience. No wonder you had trouble not making it sound like a synth. Nothing, absolutely nothing comes close to learning an instrument IRL.
This is bananas! 🤘
I love the sound this thing puts out!
had to watch a few times to understand the articulations, and ur right about the vst 2 stuff going to 126 vilocity, good stuff man, cant be,ieve is program exists let alone for so long :))
Thank you!
oh, thank you for such a thorough video. very helpful indeed. I have a small issue with Riffler. I have a few ideas that I came up with alon my iPad with riffler and then exported as MIDI. however, when I import them into FL Studio on my desktop OR GarageBand on the same iPad, the notes don't match and are several octaves higher. when I say don't match I mean they will come out as all the same note on the same string, when the riff actually spans 4 strings and include varying notes within a scale.
Great!
God bless you Man
Awesome
Thank you...
Just by the crazy deep advanced options hellraiser has , ample sound are the best in my opinion
Thank you for passing down the knowledge! I still use your template lol
No prob! Happy to hear you're still using the template!
Nice video! Helped me a lot! I wonder if using the riffer preset as it is will cause copyright problems
If you think it would then just change the notes
Hi, thanks for this great video :D
Made it so much easier to use hellrazer
Just wondering, piano roll, is that a standalone or is it within fs studios daw?
See alot of that going around with midi and so on.
Also thinking of buying the shreddage 3 hydra, any experince with that also? :)
6:26 This is the most important part. Once again I'm back to check it out. :)
Thank man! Super. Maybe you know why in piano roll chords didn't sounds, always only one note or legato? Like there's no polyphony. But in plugin everything sounds perfect.
YES
Thankyou!
Thanks for watching!
InflightMuzik Would be cool to see maybe an example of how you use these really bold sounds in the context of a song, maybe you’ll cover that in the sound design video.
I find that once I have everything else later down as well I either have to turn the guitar up and be the star of the show, or keep it low enough for there to be space for the vocals except now you can’t appreciate all the tones of the guitar 🎸 because it sounds so much fuller when it’s bare with no EQing
@@marLamaDeo The sound design videos will be going over exactly that. This guitar in particular I plan on using more for layering, background, etc. So the fx I add on it are going to be heavy handed to create more atmospheric vibes vs. a lead instrument. That's not to say I'll never use this as a lead guitar...I most definitely will.
Goddamn that's a sick lick dude, I might steal that for my solo.
Steal away my dude...I can do this all day 😁
@@Inflightmuzik Haha!! You bet. Anyway thanks a lot for the video and the lick.
you can also set the timebase higher but that takes more cpu
Ample guitar is amazing 🔥 I don’t think that I have the full library but is there a 7 string Ibanez in it?
Hi there, so i'm pretty new using FL Studio, i have the ukulele from ample sound and i can't get the concept of "Shifting to the right", i mean, after i put the snap grid on "none" what i have to do exactly?? if you can help me i really appreciate it!! btw great video, it seems helps many people :)
Can you use any amp sims like bias fx 2 for the sound instead of the built-in stuff and how to do that exactly?- Amazing vid btw.
Yep, I do all the time. I personally use th-u from overloud. You can turn off the built in fx, amps and cabinets on the fx and amps/cabinets page 💯
Liked. Commented and SUBSCRIBED. :) Peace out... and IN :)
boom -- there it is! an explanation of why articulation has not been working!
Tnx you. Can u anyone make a video how to use Slide, bends, directly in Piano mode in Fl Studio, without using the riffer
This will show you how. Pay attention to the yellow tips that popup. They will tell you what MIDI note to enter to activate these play styles in the piano roll with the notes you play. Let me know if you feel like you still need a full video on this.
Was wondering how to do chugs with this if there is no chord plugin
Okay I’ll comment again- not sure if you have Logic - but is there any way you could possibly do an “in-depth” deep dive on how the strummer and riffer work? Your videos and others go so quickly over it and I still have issues , and I like to think of myself as programming savvy .
For some reason I just can’t seem to get my head around the process as it just totally kills my workflow.
ONE THING I’m not sure of, or haven’t figured out, is if Ample has a “piano roll” type setting that basically writes out the tabs or midi notes when played on keyboard- much like Logic or any DAW follows and writes the playing of the keyboard in the appropriate places on a piano roll. I feel like this would be an amazing feature and would solve many sleepless nights of trying to figure out the little up and down arrows and the strumming patterns that just sound like shit after I move them around!! Pleeeease?!
Sharing is caring, here's what I've figured out today
Articulations for me are working on the C2, C#2, D2... not on C0...
FX however are very buggy. Once applied, they won't leave, and the preset needs to be reloaded to clean it up :S
FL Studio (v20.8.3)
Ample Guitar SC (VST 3.6.9)
Damn i need this...;)
Ample metal guitars on sale this month!
@@Inflightmuzik k i bought it :D
@@groundhouse Enjoy!
Thanks for this. Is FL your main DAW?
Yes it is.
I've run into your vids a bit the past few years. If you're interested, check my channel. Maybe we could chat sometime about a channel collaboration. I don't know any FL gurus personally yet.
Any chance of doing a logic tutorial?? Please? I’d gladly PayPal you
Can you select between different riffs via piano roll?
Does the program actually produce realistic-sounding tremolo picking? Unfortunately, that wasn't the case with "Eclipse".
Great video! Any way to turn off reverb? Whenever I have a chugging riff and it's mute for a moment the reverb rings out and doesn't sound clean and tight. Appreciate the video and tips!!!! 🙌🏼
Go to the fx page to turn off any fx. Same with amps
@@Inflightmuzik Appreciate the response! Now to find that section haha
@@JohnnyJayBeats just go through the different pages/options at the top. The icon looks like 3 lines with circles at the top (represent fx faders). There you'll find EQ, compression, delay and reverb
@@Inflightmuzik absolute lifesaver! Thanks for the info! Appreciate you!!!
Is there a way to get this plugin to generate leads randomly?
Hi! Can you help me with the problem of "loading samples failed, plug-in will not make sound".. It'll help me a lot🙏
If I put My vocals in MIDI will it create metal riffs base off of my vocals?
how should I turn off rest of the strings if i want to play only on 2 lower strings?
Hi bro, can you help me to how to fix this pluggin on logic.?
my life has changed
why the sound get more and more basse during the play. , i have to change the preset, and go back to my initial preset, to bring back the original sound, but the soundbecome more bassy again over the playing.....any help
Will this work in Mixcraft 10.5? How much is it?
I have a question and I hope you can help me... I haven't been able to find an answer anywhere else and it's the only thing that gets in the way of me considering this a truly great VST because of how annoying it is. So when I open up the VST for the first time and open the piano roll, the notes come out really strong and clear. But if I ever even so much as click A5 or higher, it makes every single note thereafter sound really weak and dissonant. I think it's changing the articulation to be some sort of palm mute and I can't for the life of me figure out how to undo it, so I have to copy my piano roll, open a new instance of the VST, then paste it to get that strong and clear sound back. It's just frustrating that it's programmed to modify articulation on keys that also play notes that I want to write with. Is there a way to change which keys are used to modify the articulation? If you can help, I'd really appreciate it.
I'm using FL Studio, in case that is relevant to my issue.
Not sure what you're doing there. I would have to see what's going on. I offer 1-1 consultations if you need, just email me inflightmuzik@gmail.com
is there a way to add the melody notes by music keyboard instead of clicking 1 note at a time using the mouse?
Yep, play the melody notes in your daw. Use riffer to manipulate it
Problem: I write some chords in the riffer and they sound nice in it, but when i drag and drop it in the channel rack to piano roll and press play in FL, some notes don't play, for example an E chord will just play the root note and not the note of the A string. I think it has something to do with what you say towards the end of the video, cause I also see some blocks in the bottom of the piano roll.
Yes, because it’s taking the key trigger information with the notes on the bottom and either the timing isn’t right or the wrong things are being triggered. Make sure u are using the vst2 version. Play around with the key triggers depending on what you’re going for and the timing. Check your settings and go to the envelope and adjust the attack to 50ms. I believe that helps some things out as well. I honestly use this more for quickly playing midi myself rather than creating something in ample guitar and dragging it into the piano roll. Mainly because that’s my style of production, but also because of some of the midi issues that can pop up. It could be better to simply record the audio from the plug-in rather than using the midi if all else fails! That’s pretty much what I do when using riffer.
@@Inflightmuzik Thank you SO much for the reply!
I don't have any MIDI keyboard/controller, I just manually write the notes in the piano roll or use the riffer to drag and drop.
Question: How do I choose VST2 or VST3?
@@nikaris the default plugin should be vst2. You can go into the plug-in wrapper settings to see if it says which one. Hope it helps!
@@Inflightmuzik Turns out I had to make new channels for each riff, because if I had just one channel for every riff, the midi info affected the next pattern, i.e. the palm mutes of a pattern affected the chords of the following pattern. 🤦♂
@@nikaris ah I see what u mean!!
But i missing some tools in riffer in ample martin and taylor guitar
Riffer is for electric guitars. Their acoustics are meant for strumming. Would love to see the riffer in the acoustics regardless in the future.
Is there finger tapping switches in ample guitars?
I believe only in riffer. Not for keyswitches
It generally works with vst 2, but the vibrato's and the bends are missing. Maybe you know why?
Depending on the daw you use and vst2 vs vst3, it will perform differently, which is highly unfortunate. Because of this, there are missing velocities/triggers to make the proper articulations.
Hi, I'm using ableton as daw but i cant figure out how to carry the sound from ample guitar to daw, not just midi.
What do you mean carry the sound? Play it?
@@Inflightmuzik i figured it out, thanks.
can we make pick scrath sound on this plug in?
yep
Where is the New Riff button? I can't find it anywhere! It was really simple in older versions of riffer. Now I don't know how to start a new riff from scratch!
It’s the second button at the top left
@@Inflightmuzik Thank you SO much!
@@Inflightmuzik Sorry, that's the riffer button. I meant the "New Riff" button. You know, to have a clean slate to make a new riff from scratch. In the older version it was between "Save riff" and "Riff preference window".
For me that shifting don't works, but I use Ample Metal Eclipse 2. It's the problem the AME2 plugin? Please help me!
There should be a free upgrade to version 3. It should work like in the video for the new versions
@@Inflightmuzik thanks man. I updated it, and soon I will release my first Industrial Metal album, finally. :)
What if i draw my chords on the piano roll not the vst, is it okay?
yep, works perfectly fine.
I guess you would have to record it, because you loose your pitch bends when dragging it into FL Studio. Why isn't their a switch to flip in Fl Studio to make it act like a NORMAL DAW?
When I drag the MIDI from the Riffer in to FL Studio's Piano roll and then adjust the notes slightly so the articulation MIDI notes come first, I'm still not getting the articulations when I play it in FL Studio (it sounds nothing like what I have in the Riffer). Any idea of anything else I can try to get this to work, please?
Yep, go into the envelope settings of the guitar and set the attack to 50. I believe that should fix it for ya
@@Inflightmuzik Thanks for such a quick response! Unfortunately, it's still not working. But just to double check I am 100% following your suggestion, do you mean going in to Settings and for the Global Envelope graph I change the Attack to be 50+ms?
@@Green5ive yes that’s what was told to do in that situation. Sorry it’s still not working. The alternative would be to record it directly into something like Edison from riffer.
@@Inflightmuzik Yes, I've been recording in to Edison for now. It slows down my workflow but I'm out of ideas. I appreciate you taking the time to provide help though and I look forward to more videos!
honestly trying to use this without knowing how to play a guitar feels pretty difficult.. i have eclipse and trying to play thrash metal on it so far has been painful
In those situations, I would use riffer
Yeah you need to know how to play guitar a bit
It´s possible to make palm mute?
Yes, there is a palm mute option in riffer!
I have no problem using VST 3 in Cubase11 with 127velocity😁
Ah, I remember Cubase being mentioned as one of the DAWs the plugin is tested with. So yeah, it's triggered correctly in there!
@@Inflightmuzik by the way it also works in Logic Pro X. The riffer is really convenient tools it reduces my programming time for a double😍.
@@BCRilakuma That's awesome to hear! Thanks for confirming. It really is a fun, unique way of creating guitar tracks when the piano roll is cooperating with you.
where is Am,,DM,Gm, in change chord
how to transpose the key?
use the cappo
what is mean shifting to the right man? i dont get it xD
Move the midi notes to the right by nudging them slightly off the grid
@@Inflightmuzik why it doesnt work in fls12 ? :( i shifting to the rlight over and over , and still not working :(
It's cool. But it will never sound like a real guitar VST amp sim !
6:00 / PEOPLE: Because you have to first trigger the chord, these Ample plugins do NOT sync properly in ANY DAW that I've tried. Cubase 12, Nuendo 12, Studio One 5, FL Studio 20, Logic Pro X. It makes it unusable for me. I have NOT tried Ableton or ProTools. My Mac 2018 Mini (3.2 GHz i7 / 16 GB DDR4 / Radeon 5700 XT / and Apollo Twin Duo) are more than enough. *Turn on your metronome and you'll realize that it's not syncing properly.
Why does my guitar sound so clicks and unrealistic
There is NO articulations that work when put into piano roll. With drag right, without - no matter, don't work......
It's easier to learn a real guitar 😂
