I felt so dumb researching this but it was very helpful & I see I wasn’t the only one that watched it lol
lmao sames
Me too I thought mines was too big
Same lol
😅
Same here
Can't believe I needed a video for this but I did and I appreciate it.
Haha same critical, thinking skills his dad when you have youtube
You should mention to put the reflective shiny side facing out in the summer, and inside in the colder months. That's what I came here for. I found the answer on another site.
Thanks this was the info I wanted to confirm. Seemed logical since black is supposed to attract sun so you would put the black side facing the interior during the summer. Was wondering if it msde sny difference. THANKS.
Thank you. That's what I was looking for.
Thank you!
Me too 😂
I'm stupid why didnt I think of using the visor lol.
me too i didnt realise using sun visor
JCLaygo I just bought one for the first time & yeah, I 😣 too.
Same
Same here 😂 exactly why I looked up this video. Almost returned mine back to Walmart
Yvonne Spain same
Bruh I'm so stupid, I thought I just had to like prop it up against the rear view mirror and hope it doesn't fall when I close my door.
🙋♀️ saaaaaaame
Bruh I though it was supposed to hook to the mirror to hold on🤣😅
You wasn't the only one.
I think we all did 😭
Same
I can’t lie I felt dumb even searching for this but I’m glad I did because I was definitely about to return this sun shade
I didn’t think this video would offer anything helpful but I’m glad I was wrong. I had no idea about the visors.
Also if you put the reflective side looking out it helps keep the car cooler, used to have the design looking out and my car would be a warm and the other way around helped way more
I just bought one with a design I really like so I’m going to suffer in the warmth of my truck lol
I'm sorry so you're saying the aluminum part on the outside?
@@rositaortega5256 Yes
I keep reading to put the reflective side out. So the shiny. Aluminum, whatever, reflective surfaces faces outside the car, if you have a design, the design faces in. Also to help visualize to understand. Think of it like a burrito or hot pocket in a pocket sleeve. If you put the hot pocket in the sleeve. The reflective side is cooking the burrito. So reflective side out so we don't heat up and cook our interior.
No one is stupid, we just didn’t know. The instructions I had never said to put the visors up, but I bought this a few years ago and never really had to use it. But right now, 7/31/2021 I am back working in the day time (was on nights) and I am on break in my car and it’s hot as hell lol
It’s helpful thank you for this video
I didn't know to use the visors hahaha just got one for my new car! Thanks for the tips
These things really do work and they are cheap. I highly recommend using them if your car dosnt have tinted windows or if the cars going to be parked in the sun for awhyll
Awhyll ? I'ma use that
I was struggling with trying to keep it up today. I didn’t know people used the sun visors to keep them up. I should have known from when I was on Amazon about to make a purchase when people were complaining about certain windshield shades would stain their sun visors. Lol Didn’t cross my mind. I was just wondering how’d it get stained.
I feel so stupid after watching this 😭😭😭 I’m just thinking that this is supposed to stay up and was so mad when it didn’t .. thanks for the video
Good to know I'm not the only one who needed this video. I was so confused on how to keep it on the windshield, duh, the car sun visors!!! Anyway thanks for the video
I definitely needed this video. And apparently sodas, my neighbor because I’m looking out the window and he has his aluminum sunshade on the outside. We’re all probably blow away. Lol.
So does not sodas and not we’re all etc. but where it will probably blow away.
Thanks for the tip i was struggling how to place it correctly
Very epic video man, the music ties it together 🔥🔥🔥
I figured out the sun visor method but needed to make sure i am not making a mistake. Safe to say I was satisfied with this video 👍
Omg! Bought the acordian type and I had the hardest time getting it to stay up....I feel so stupid! Thank you for that
😂 I was actually tucking it in between the glass and the top part of your vehicle hahaha... But I knew I was doing something wrong so I decided to look it up. Glad I did
Thank God for CZcams
It may seems silly but this is a good and useful video thank you
Thanks dude! Geez, I thought I bought the wrong size or something. Wish they'd tell you about putting the visors out on the packaging somewhere.
I definitely felt dumb for watching, but I needed this. Thanks!😂😂😂
I bought one of these for a new car I just got and didn’t know why they kept on falling, but this showed me to use your cars sun visor to keep it from falling lol, duh why didn’t I think of that haha
Wow nice, 10/10! You did everything right for an instructional video
Sitting here holding it up manually right next to the sun visor… thank you for your help
Ty they need to add this video to all Windshield Sun Shade sold on Amazon..mine kept falling..i didnt put the sun visors behind it
Thanks O’Reily
I to feel dumb finding way of sunshade installation 😂, it's helpful. thanks mate
So, physics would suggest that installing the sun shield on the outside of the car would be far more effective. The glass absorbing the sun is what makes the car hotter. Putting the sun shade on the outside stops the UV rays from damaging the plastics, vinyls, carpets, etc AND keeps the car cooler.
But then someone would steal it.
Plz do that, I’d like a new sun shade
Wait! I should use the sun visor to keep it in place? Wow!
Helped alot thank you
Thank you so much for the info
Video was very helpful
Using the first example I still can't get it to stay up but at least I know I was doing it the right way. It must be the slope of the window.
One problem: being an antique car , for some reasons my car cannot be equipped with a good proper sun visor.since my ceiling was recently damaged by too much rain. I already corrected the leaking car roof but honestly right now I still can’t afford to repair my car ceiling so meantime I have to bear w/o a sun visor . Now , I just got a new aluminium windshield sun protector as a gift but have problems attaching the top part w/o a sunvisor holding it in place toward the windshield. I wonder how can I still attach it using a different approach ? And w/o wasting the gift given to me.
Wow really helpful
my friend has one that is very long but the width is a bit short and no visors!!! i had to use the straps to hold onto the visors latch!
I literally just struggled trying to put mine up thank God for CZcams 😂
So the accordion sun shades with pictures on them, that side also reflects the sun? I assumed it was only the plain side.
Is it
Any follow ups?
It's good I'm not the only one.. got me confuse😂thanks for the video
I can't believe I couldn't figure this out without this video lol
OHHH
dead ass..how i feel
LMBO!!!! I feel you.
The one i got is supper annoying. I put it right up the to and hold it by flipping the sun visors down, but it does not go all the way to the bottom of the dash its like its to short
Mine too ughh
May need the jumbo size
Whelp, thanks for the guide!
Thank you
I know this is a dumb question but I install it like this but it keeps falling (maybe it’s too floppy/short?)
Thanks!
The 4 people who disliked this great video must have bike or some 😂😂😂
Chevrolegs
Thanks a bunch
Omg seriously this whole time I had it right I just forgot to prop it with the sun visors! 🤣🤦♂️
These reflective accordion style ones always disintegrate and leave flakes all over my car. Do the collapsible kind disintegrate too?
I had the collapsible for a few years now with no problems. Nothing to flake off.
I still have great difficulty installing my sun shade in my truck. The rear view mirror just always seems to be in the way. Taking it out is also a pain. I'm afraid I'm going to rip my mirror off.
What do I do if I don’t have a sun visor (just one working)
Thanks 😊
Thank you so much I felt like a complete idiot trying to put it up. I don’t know why it hadn’t occurred to me to hold it in place with the sun visors 😭😭
Lmao the duh that left my mouth so fast when they put the visor down 😅🤣🤛
The most easiest thing to put & I still had no clue on how to do it lol
So the silver side goes inside?
So what are the straps for on the end??
Right
What if there are lights above the visors that come on when they’re open and I don’t want to run down my battery??
Step a: do not buy a stupid car such as a Tesla. Step b: If you did buy a stupid car, just close the mirrorcover on your visor, the light turns off. Step c: If it doesn’t, pull the fuse of the mirror lights.
My collapsible one didn’t work as in the video. Half of it hung down. They should make them with a Velcro strip to attach to.
Y’all please don’t feel dumb because how was we supposed to know to use the sun visers too?!
What if you don't have sun visors?
It was getting annoying for me to do so I watched this video and it became a lot more easier.
Thx
i was trying to figure out why mine wouldn’t stay but my sun shades don’t go anywhere close to far back enough to keep it in place. Camaro feels bad man. Oh well I guess I’m stuck with 70-80% of my window being covered at all times
Tnx :)
I just bought one. I have a Hyundai Elantra. The visor is too small for it to fit..Guess it won't work. So frustrating..😟
Thank you! I feel smarter now LOL.
I don't have my visor so I used safety pins for now lol 😂
THEY WILL BRING THE INTERIOR TEMPERATURE DOWN FORTY DEGREES❣️
Can you help me understand which side is the correct side to face outward. I used to have the decorated side facing outward, but would notice most people have the silver side facing outward, so I researched it. I have seen videos where the silver side faces out, in order to repel the sun rays, so I started doing it that way… which makes the side with deco kind of pointless, since no one outside sees it. Now I see this video and I am confused again.
@@MPmercurydid you figure it out ?
@@goldilockz6517 Hello!
No, I gave up on the using the sun shade altogether. I got no response and, ultimately, I didn’t see the great benefit.
And that the aluminum side goes on the inside right? That seems like an obvious part that wasn’t mentioned
Yup ,I sure did CZcams this 😂😂 and thank you 👌
I forgot to pull my sun shades down haha I was getting so mad it wouldn’t stay up :)
My one of my sun visors is missing though😞
Use the sun visors
Me: looking at missing sun visors
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm looking for a cure for the gap between the glass and shade. That space supper heats and acts like a chimney supper heating the whole car!
You americans have such a hot country and still have not figured out how to use it. Put it on the outside of your windshield. Fold the corners inside the open doors. close the doors. voila.
@@janosmerges4946 I'll need to get a few hundred of them that way, they'll only last a couple of min.. Outside of that, it's a great idea. I just can't afford to buy everyone and his brother a sun visor. Tucking them in the door is not any sort of a deterrent.
@@reasoningtruth In case we have a misunderstanding, this is how we do it: images-eu.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51H3cOXl%2BsL.jpg
Where do you live, where people would steal a 2€ reflective mat? Do they steal your valve-caps on the tire too?
❤
I had got suctions with mine and i was so confused 😂😂
I was told that the reflective side is supposed to be facing up.
I read all this comments and Im glad im one of the stupid gang 🤣
Aw but I’m missing my passenger side Sun visor 😢
Lol 😂 I came here to make sure I had done my right and sure enough I did lol
Does this actually keep your car cooler?
Yrs
Yes
@@jesussaves2901 False tried it didn’t help
@SergGutta it didn't work for you because this isn't the proper way to use these. It's been proven that placing them on the outside of you car and using your wipers to hold them down is more effective.
My car's interior thanks you sir. Sounds silly, but I never owned one of these things.
Now the real question is will it break the glass from overheating
Qll these months I've been putting the sun shade backwards. I always though the aluminum was to face outward. Smh. Now I know.
It does during the summer then the opposite for the winter
I have the accordion style and this didn’t work at all, I believe your tips work for a lot of people but this just doesn’t work for my truck for whatever reason
🤦🏽♀️thanks so much 😂😂
Thanks now I don’t feel so dumb 🤣
I opened it outside the vehicle and tried to put it in the interior.
My husband keeps arguing with me about my collapsible sunshade with pictures. He said that silver side goes out, but that doesn't make sense to me with the picture. I believe the picture is also reflective, but I cannot find any post that says this. This one at least pictures one with a picture and the picture is out. It makes sense to me - why would I have a picture and have it facing inside the car. Help somebody!
Exactly! The guy in the store told me that the ones with the pictures are also reflective; so face them outward. He even said the point is to have others look at them when they’re walking by your car. Otherwise, why the design?
Glad I'm not the only one who felt like an idiot 😂
My review mirror sits too low :(
Is it just me who installed it correctly without watching this videos but still wanted to come here and double check?
i don’t have visors☹️
I had to see this because I bought the universal size for 10$, you get what you pay for I guess, gotta return it now
As others have said, I also feel stupid for having to look this up but to be completely honest I was doing it exactly like in the video and it’s still not staying up 😂
Maybe my car is defective LOL
