I had a rescue kitty named Red, he was a maine coon. He was a few years old when I got him. He had a severe respiratory infection and would have died soon. Had no money for a vet so I got amoxicillin from the feed store and gave it to him twice a day for MONTHS. He recovered and lived with us for another decade. He is buried under a magnolia tree in my coat that he loved with his monkus😢

I ran a Maine Coon cattery for years then had to stop but got started up again ! I just love them so much but lost my last 2 , will never get another because it hurts so much when they die on u , it’s very hard to handle so I’ll never at this age get another one because it’s to painful !

I've been sick and really enjoying binge watching all of your videos the last few days! I actually owe my life to a Beautiful Maine coon! When I was 9 years old, I had a Maine Coon named Bowser. After the big Bowser boss in the Mario Bros games because he was so big 25 pounds. But a gentle protective giant! Bowser was the smartest cat I've ever had too. I was out side playing with him and walking him on his leash when a pit bull came from around the corner diving on me knocking me down. In a split second Bowser jumped on the dog going straight for the eyes scratching one of them causing the dog to run away yelping. Bowser chased him a good ways then ran back to check on me along with my parents who came rusing out. Thankfully due to Bowser's heroism I just had a bite on my arm and a couple bruises but not for him it could have been MUCH worse. That dog got loose from a neighbor's house down the road and had killed a beagle dog before attacking me and thankfully was found soon after. I place no blame on the dog, it came from a neglectful home where it was mistreated. Just thankful I had my Maine Coon with me that day. Currently remodeling my home, and when I'm done I plan to get a pair of Maine Coons in memory of good old Bowser from my childhood. Was I just lucky? Or do Maine Coons tend to be this protective? Everything is True because I owned 2 as kittens to Senior Hood. They both passed away ,1 in 2021 and 2022. They are best cats in World! Never mistreatment them or you will lose their trust and NEVER Get It Back! Just ask my ex husband!!!!

My boy Loki has mellowed out over the years. When I first got him he freaked out whenever I picked him up. I found a vet who was willing to deal with his quirks. I noticed if I forced treatment on him he would immediately become fearful of me and actively avoid me. My vet recommended that I bring him in 2 or 3 times a year for his URI, claw clipping, ear exam. He is a terrible patient. He's a two person cat: the vet tech holds him while the procedure is done. That way, Dr. White said, Loki will be angry at them and not me. The plan worked. He follows me from room to room, and now he gets up on the bed or the couch and snuggles in close. He'll never be a lap cat, but he'll make biscuits on my thigh or hip and sometimes lay his head down on me. Wouldn't trade this old man for any other cat out here.

Can you have only one maine coon and then the other cats be regular sized cats? Would they get along?
A neighbor had two cats and a Maine coon. Never heard of any problems with them
