- Arrkay finds some unexpected nostalgia in the comic series "Circles". Hitting close to home, Arrkay reflects on the personal parallels he felt with the found family at 6 Kinsey Circle, finding similarities with each of the inhabitants the story centers and his own life.
"Circles" 2000-2022, by Steve Domanski, Andrew French, and Scott Fabianek (a.k.a. K-9)

I instantly fell in love with Circles the very moment I started to read it. It made this straight guy understand what it is like to be gay.
I loved Circles. It really clicked with someone in his early 20's around the turn of the century living in furry filled apartment complexes in silicon valley. Just a bunch of weirdos and fun lovers who also kept the internet and industry software alive.
It's 2003, I'm closeted and just starting university when I see the first three issues on sale at a comic shop about 4 miles from campus. Too scared to buy it, I walk the whole 4 miles the following week (again) to buy all three and promptly devour them in my dorm room.
It's a month later and I now spend my evenings at the campus LGBTQ center having finally found my people. Who knew a Comic could have such a profound effect on one's life?
Nostalgia overload inbound!
Great now I have to reread circles again. Man this comic and this video make me cry so much
I never was part of a big furry house, but I did have some friends who did and were local, and this definitely makes me miss those times. I'm glad the books resonated so well with you, and that the author was able to make a satisfying conclusion years later! And I really like your perspective on creating a welcoming world for the next generation, as time moves on. Great video!
Substitute white sugar for some of the brown sugar to get a crunchier cookie, vice versa for a softer cookie. (Don't substitute more than a quarter-ish cup or the results go from a variation to a mistake.) Try adding *a little* anise to the dry igredients, but be careful what "a little" means unless you really like licorice.
Several friends pointed this out to me. I'm glad the book resonated so much with you (and with some of your commenters!) Thank you for putting together such an insightful retrospective.
(Good cookie recipe, too!)
I discovered this comic during lockdown when I was looking for queer media to explore, the furry was irrelevant to me, as these stories hit me hard. I was 15, and freshly out in 1983. It was the UK so the deadly impact of HIV was a little slower here. Nearly everyone I knew died. The media blamed us. They told such lies. I'm getting emotional. That's all.
Thanks for making this
Circles is such a great series. I actually purchased all the books earlier this year and reread the whole series.
I'm happy to hear you talk about it.
Yooooo im ready 2 watch!!
Circles made such an impact on my life back in the day. Thanks for making this retrospective!
This helped me through so much. I finally got the 3rd Book just after my Mother passed away. Getting to read the whole thing only a month later. Reading and starting my own Fan Fiction (Currently 93 Chapters) has gotten me through the last decade.
What a beautiful and positive video. I commend you for taking us on this journey and I hope that we can all continue the circle.
Thank you for the wonderful and insightful video! Associated Student Bodies, Out of Position series and Circles helped me became the person who I am today
Wow. This was well made, and now I HAVE to read the comic series. It looks like it will resonate with me a lot. ✨️
